I have bought four packs of these now, so am clearly a fan. Are they realistic? Well, yes - unless you get very close and scrutinise them thoroughly, in which case they're obviously not real candles. But a) I don't really care and b) if any guests were rude enough to do this and point it out in a sneering sort of way, then I wouldn't invite them again. I have them in my sitting room, and my dining room, and it honestly, really does transform the room to have their lovely little flickerings in various corners. The remote control is a bonus; I defy anyone not to experience a little frisson of pleasure when they press the button and the lights suddenly come on. Hours of fun. The timers do work as well. The battery life seems pretty good, as long as you don't buy cheap batteries. Bizarrely, some people have complained about the noise, which is the 'flame' moving about, creating the 'realistic' effect. It's a pretty first world problem, to be honest, and unless you plan to have them on while sitting in complete silence - in a Trappist monastery, for example - I wouldn't let it put you off. I'm very fond of mine, as you can tell. If I could, I'd do away with electricity and use them to light my entire home, Wolf Hall style, if it wasn't for the fact that I'd keep tripping over the dog.

Been looking for realistic “fake” candles for a large lantern for ages. After reading the reviews decided to give these a go. They are fantastic .... best I’ve seen anywhere. Like others commented, they would be even better if a bigger diameter but when the five are grouped together they give a wonderful, realistic flame glow..... the main joy of these is the fact that you need two AA batteries rather than the fiddly little penny/tiny button batteries, so if you get top quality at the beginning they last for simply ages. Like everything it depends how often you are putting them on but i bought these for a holiday home so we only use intermittently for a few hours at a time but so far they are perfect. I’ve bought two sets and the remote does both sets - the remote is a bit naff really but it does work - I find it best to direct it to each candle individually and they go on and off fine.... I’ve got them inside but have used them outside when having a BBQ and they are gorgeous. I have them on permanent flicker which I prefer as I think its more natural. The only downside is that they are real wax and as such if they are in the sun they will melt! As was commented “they look more real than ever now!”. Hmm..... !! Absolutely love them..... treat yourself you won’t be disappointed.

I spent a lot of time reading reviews etc before purchasing, but I am really pleased with these candles. Also wanted "skinny" ones to fit a lantern. They are working well so far. Real wax coated which I was worried about as I wanted the tall one for an outside lantern, see photos. But it has been fine. The other 4 are grouped inside & they look good. I know what some mean about a slight click from the "flame" mechanism but honestly it's hardly noticeable. The flame can be put to non moving too & also there are brightness controls. The outside lantern is about 2 metres from a window, not sure what distance the remote would work to. Timer function is handy. Only given "Battery Life" 3 stars as I am waiting to see how long the batteries actually last with about 2hrs use per night at the moment.

OK I have to admit I was sitting on the fence about whether or not to buy these, but I finally caved in, and I am really glad I did. These are wonderful! Just perfect for my little gaming room in the spare bedroom. They work perfectly and give off a really bright light (and you can dim them too which another great option) The flickering wick gives them a real sense of realism, especially from a distance. I also like the 'candle' option on the remote which gives a 'guttering' effect which you get with real candles. I note some people on here were complaining about the wick not moving at all....note that in the options box you get when ordering there are options for 'static flame ones' or 'dancing flame one's, and I would rather suspect some of you ticked the wrong box, either that or you have them on static flame on the remote. I guess battery usage is dependant on whether you have them on a dimmer or brighter setting. I invested in some Venom Rechargable batteries to go with them, which I think is the best option as ordinary batteries would not last long. Rechargable batteries might be expensive, but they would eventually pay for themselves and some. On the minus side (and it is a very small minus) yes there is a tinkling sound, which personally I find rather soothing, and you do have to be virtually right on top of them to hear it anyway, and with the TV on or immersed in a game you really won't notice them it all. Buy with confidence. I truly love these!! Actually thinking of purchasing a second set for a different room. NOTE: Please pay attention to the fact that these are totally unsuitable to be positioned anywhere near a heat source, they are after all made of wax, so don't place near a heater or on a window sill in the hot sun. In the video you can see the difference between the guttering effect and flickering wick I mentioned, and then I use the remote to put them on still mode (not so effective in my opinion) but obviously a matter of personal choice. UPDATE ON REVIEW: I HAVE BROUGHT THESE DOWN SLIGHTLY TO 4 STARS BECAUSE THE SECOND LOT I BOUGHT WERE NOT PERFECT. THE WICKS ON TWO OF THE CANDLES HAD COME ADRIFT AND WERE RATTLING AROUND INSIDE THE BODY OF THE CANDLE. RATHER THEN SEND THEM ALL BACK IT WAS A RELAVITIVELY EASY FIX. WITH A STEADY HAND, LONG NOSED PLIERS AND SOME SUPER GLUE I MANAGED TO SECURE THE PLASTIC LOOP CONTAINING THE WIRE THAT HOLDS THE WICK BACK INTO PLACE. BIT OF A FIDDLIE JOB BUT I GOT THERE IN THE END, APART FROM THat THEY ARE ALL WORKING PERFECTLY NOW. A COUPLE DID NOT COME ON STRAIGHT AWAY, BUT IT TURNS OUT I HAD NOT PUSHED THE BATTERY DOOR FULLY INTO PLACE (IF ITS NOT CLIPPED IN PROPERLY IT WONT WORK) HOPE THIS HELPS HELPS SOME OF YOU GUYS WITH SIMILAR ISSUES

These were a Christmas present for a person who loves candles but does not want to use real ones anymore due to fire risk. She absolutely loves these, a beautiful glow and remote operation as her mobility is not always good.

Love these candles, I have bought 2 sets now, as I wanted them either side of my fireplace, the batteries last ages, they look and feel so much like real candles.

These are brilliant! I was a little sceptical when ordering but since I wanted the candles to go inside my metal Moroccan lanterns, I thought that even if they looked pretty fake, it wouldn't notice inside the lanterns. As it turned out however, from a slight distance, they really don't look in any way fake. In fact, my husband didn't even realise that they weren't real candles until he had a close look at them! One slight niggle is that the 'flames' make a clicking sound when switched on, regardless of the setting. It's fine when there's other noise (e.g. TV, games, music, conversation, etc.) but in a quiet room, when meditating, it can be a little distracting. However, this won't stop me buying more! I really like that I can use them when my toddler granddaughter is here, and know that they are perfectly safe. The batteries seem to last well; I've had my candles for around a month, keep them on standby, and switch them on every evening. They're on for anything between two and six hours, and I've not had to replace the batteries yet, which I regard as a good thing! I definitely recommend these candles, and as mentioned, will be buying more soon.

So pleased with my order , all of the candles work after testing myself, and very good packaging for storing when not in use , thank you , great effect in my large glass lanterns, surrounded by pine cones very happy would definitely recommend, remote control is working with all of the candles too

Son ideales y parece que son de llama completamente! Me gusta mucho el diferente tamaño de las cinco. Puestas en conjunto quedan perfectas y aportan calidez a cualquier rincón y sin peligro de incendio. Lo del mando es un punto a tener en cuenta, de un solo toque se encienden todas. Puedes elegir modo de llama (a cual más real) y tiempo de apagado entre 2, 4, 6 y 8 horas. Me parece una compra fantástica, estoy muy contenta con ella!!

excellent candles. great price. do esnot include A batteries in package. this is a good thing, as those are frequently short life carbon zinc cells prone to leakage. these candles are somewhat narrower diameter than i expected, but provide long lasting charming ambient light from rechargeable NiMH AA cells. the included 2 (!) remote controls allow for custom operation of candles placed in different rooms without having to search for the lone remote. if a timed run setting is selected, the candles will automatically come on at same time in subsequent days.

Purchased these to use in an arrangement on our dining table. I was pleased with the quality and so far battery life seems quite nice. I replace with real candles when we have dinner parties, but for day to day I enjoy seeing these come on each evening. Brings some nice light to a usually dark surface. I also like that they are real wax and the 'flames' are similar to Luminaria candles - which are MUCH more expensive. From the pics I was not expecting this - they should really promote this feature more. The flames 'dance' like real flames and really do look real. My favorite type of battery candle. Definitely recommend.

Me gusta: - Parecen velas de verdad. Incluso la "llama" tiembla, como si fuera una vela. - Con el mando a distancia es una maravilla de cómodo. Lo único es que si las quieres usar con mando tienes que encenderlas con el botón que lleva en la base y luego dejarlo en ON. Si lo apagas de la base, no puedes encenderlas con el mando. - La luz es cálida, se puede programar la intensidad (más o menos brillo), el tiempo que las quieres tener encendidas (2, 4, 6, 8 horas) y el modo (vela o light). - El tacto es de vela, las coges en la mano y crees que es una vela. No hay nada que no me guste de estas velas. Todas las personas que las ven se quedan encantadas, y a todas les doy el enlace de compra de amazon. Me encantan. Van a pilas normales (nada de botón), lo cual es para mí un montón de puntos a favor.

Au top les bougies, je les conseille vivement , vous pouvez les acheter les yeux fermés, elles sont magnifiques, je les adore, par contre il faut mette des piles de bonnes qualité. Le vendeur est très compétent et livraison rapide et bien emballer.
