Oxbow Essentials Hamster Food & Gerbil Food, Hamster Pellets, Uniform, 1 lb

This is a very healthy, balanced hamster or gerbil food! I have had hamsters in my life since I was a baby (33 years ago!), and just recently decided to take on a pair of crazy gerbils so that my kids could also experience the joys of having "pocket pets" in their lives! :) This is definitely one of the best gerbil foods that you can buy! This food contains 15% protein, 4.5% fat and 10-15% fiber. The main ingredients are timothy grass, pearled barley, oats, flax seed and vitamins and minerals. It does not contain a bunch of cheap fillers like corn or fatty seeds. Our gerbils have been eating this since they were just babies and they both have healthy, shiny coats, bright eyes and plenty of energy! Aside from an occasional treat, this is their main diet and I feel good about feeding it to them because it provides complete nutrition. Our gerbils seem to love it - they will take a piece right out of your hand - but if your pet has not been raised on this, you might have to slowly acclimate them to the new food by introducing it gradually. I am very happy with this food for my gerbils, and will absolutely continue to buy it in the future. I purchased this food directly from Amazon as an add-on and paid whatever full price was at the time.

good！ The ingredients look good, and the food smells fresh when you open the bag. My hamster enjoys eating it and seems to especially like the variety of different pieces. I also like that it doesn’t contain too many unnecessary fillers.

Best food i have ever fed my Gerbil. She eats all of it and is a great healthy option without all the needed fats. Very fresh and has a nice reseal. Exactly as shown. For one Gerbil i would guess it would last around 2 or 3 months (First time buying so not too sure, but definitely lasts).

The food arrived in perfect condition. Everything looks good! 😉 We’ll see how my hamster likes it over time, but so far, it seems like he enjoyed it! 😊

In the past, I've found many of my hamsters to be picky about their food, but these Oxbow brand foods have been a favorite of my current hamster! I don't find that I'm throwing out a lot of uneaten food during routine cage cleanings as I have with other brands/food mixes. I also feel good about the product in the sense that I believe it is a nutritious dietary staple for my little one. There aren't a bunch of dyes and additives like you'll find in many other brands. Just no-nonsense ingredients. I will continue to preferentially purchase Oxbow products!

The other Oxbow kibbles that are labeled as being formulated for mice are not appropriate for mice, since the kibbles are so huge. Also my mice do not accept the formula as food, they would not even nibble on the other Oxbow Mouse/Young Rat kibbles. These kibbles are a different formula, I just wanted to point out that I've already tried the other Oxbow formulas, that are specifically for mice. The Oxbow Mouse formulas are huge and do not attract my mice and they're not suitable. That said - this is not the same formula. These Oxbow kibbles may be formulated for gerbils and hamsters, but my mice eagerly take them as both treats and as feed. The kibbles are small enough for a mouse to carry it in its mouth. The size is about 1/4 the size of the mouse's head. The kibbles are not flake like but they are more shaped in the form of a doughnut or a "Cheerio." I am able to break most of the kibbles in half with my fingers, to feed them by hand. Also their stool seems much more solid and healthier after being fed on these kibbles. They're gaining weight. They do not get tired of eating these kibbles. I would like Oxbow to produce a dedicated mouse chow that has appropriate sized kibbles and formulated specifically for mice, and that mice are eager for; till then this is a really great substitute. Four stars (as a mouse chow that is). If this were a specific mouse chow I would give it five stars. The kibbles could be a tad smaller for mice, but they're still acceptable, the mice can easily take it in their jaws and carry it away to a corner for consumption. Thanks Oxbow.

I’ve always favored the Oxbow brand when it comes to feeding my animals. The food may look bland but it is much healthier than the options you see in stores (colorful mixes and seeds). Hammy approves as well! She can fit a total of 31 pieces in her cheeks so far and loves to store them in her house. It also gives her plenty of energy. I’m pretty sure she runs a full 3miles on her wheel at night, so I know she’s energized! 😆 The food has a very light smell, and you get a decent amount for the price. I would definitely recommend this brand for your pet hamster.

Comida de muy buena calidad, a mi hámster le vuelve loca. La composición es natural y se adapta completamente a las necesidades del animal para que no les falte de nada. La verdad es que la recomiendo muchísimo, vuestras mascotas os lo van a agradecer.

Il pellet preferito dai miei cincillà, lo prendo a volte qui a volte in negozio, e il pacco grande è sicuramente molto più conveniente

À la maison j'ai 4 gerbeilles, 2 hamster. Ça me revenait cher d'acheter un petit sac à l'animalerie. Avec ce grand format je suis comblé en plus il se referme grâce à une fermeture style Ziploc.

Bonjour j'utilise cette alimentation pour mes gerbilles niveau composition sur de l'extrudé c'est l'un des meilleurs ! Juste un truc qui me dérange c'est que le prix augmente de semaine en semaine et ça c'est dérangeant car au début il était à 9 euros et des poussières ! :S
