Great kit
I used to do some extremely simple soldering projects as a kid and now wanted to start over in electronics so ordered this alongside the tools to test those out. It's really great, was easy to put together and it works, tried it against a synthesizer and all the flickering is quite spectacular. The only downside that it was probably a bit too easy to assemble, so even if you're a complete beginner I'd recommend considering slightly more advanced kits. Other than that, great!

Great entertainment!
As a kid I used to do a lot of electronics projects with my dad, I'm talking between 8 and 14 years old. But since then I haven't done much, apart from an electronics course I had to take in college.I recently decided to get a bit more into this sort of stuff and thought one of this kits would be a good starting point to refresh my memory in the soldering techniques and all that.It probably took me 2 or 3 hours to build this, so not too long, it's easy enough and the instructions are quite good actually. And the most important thing, it worked! My wife was impressed, my baby daughter loved it and loved the fact the the lights would blink to her noises.I'm attaching a few pics of the progress as I was building it, oh yes, and at the end I did a little simple modification of my own, just installed an on/off switch.

Velleman Kits never fail to disappoint
Nice little kit, fairly simple to build.Built with my 8 year old as an introduction to soldering. the PCB was well labeled and fairly forgiving of her heavy handed soldering method!

Very very poor
This is the third (and last) Velleman project I've bought. Each time the components and the PCB have been very poor quality.I've a long history in soldering PCBs and although out of practice I know what I'm doing so when the contacts flake off I know it's not a quality product.I bought this as an introduction to my 10 year old boy, it got 2 stars because we at least got to spend an hour together before the crushing disappointment of his project not working took hold.

Needs more care in packaging
The kit arrived missing 4 of the 47E resistors (what does E mean?). I had some 47K on my bench and assembled it, but it just won't work. I checked all the solder joints with a magnifier and there is no bridging. I like Velleman kits and have built many of them successfully, but I can't recommend this one.Edit: thought about it some, then swapped the 47K resistors for 47ohm resistors, and everything works now. Changed to 5 stars.

Entretenido dispositivo , fácil de montar y que funciona mu6 bienMuy idóneo para ubicar cerca de emisores de música ya que se activa alternativamente en función a la intensidad del sonido

Fun Beginners Kit to Annoy the Family With
I love looking for kits that have some interest/use beyond my sweetie putting them together. This one I figured would get set aside pretty quickly… not so. It's proved to be quite fun and useful at bugging others in close proximity to it. Always handy! It's a very nice kit, all components, screws and the battery holder are supplied. The instructions were easy enough to follow though they could have been a tad more descriptive. The components and board are of a very high quality, and the kit worked first go. The LEDs are bright and really pop when a sound is detected. The kit we received was supplied with a square potentiometer instead of the round one pictured, and this pushed into one of the capacitors. Didn't seem to cause any problems though.A never ending source of amusement as it's quite fun to see what SORTS of sounds this will pick up on and just which loved one it will annoy next. I suggest you choose it's location wisely!A highly recommended kit!!
