I was really impressed with this fabric dye. I had some shorts and trousers that had faded over time and were starting to look old and tired, so I thought I’d give this a try rather than replace them. The colour that came out was fantastic and really brought the clothes back to life. They look refreshed and almost like new again, giving them a whole new lease of life. The colour was rich and even, and the results were better than I expected. The picture doesn't do them justice. The instructions were very easy to follow, and I particularly liked how straightforward the whole process was. It was so much easier than I anticipated, and being able to use it in the washing machine made it really convenient. It didn't leave any residue in my washing machine so I was able to use it afterwards, once the process had finished. A great way to revive faded clothes rather than throwing them away. I’m really pleased with the results and will definitely use Dylon dye again.

Excellent product. Bought to change colour of partner's denim smock top and possible bleach marks on a shirt. Was not expecting such a good result! All marks were covered brilliantly and colour (navy) was vibrant. Both items look like new!

I used this to bring some faded dark clothing back to life and was pleasantly surprised by the results. The colour came out noticeably darker and made the clothes look much fresher overall although it wasn’t back to being pure black. It didn't completely cover some stains I was hoping to hide, so I wouldn't rely on it for that, but it definitely improved the appearance of the fabric and evened out the colour. One thing to be aware of is that it left some black marks on the washing machine door seal after use. However, most of it came off with a quick wipe and a cleaning cycle, so it wasn't a major issue. Overall, a good product if you're looking to refresh or darken clothing rather than perform miracles on stained items.

Reading some of the more negative reviews, I thought this new approach of chucking in the dye within a container would be problematic. Not so! All in one product (no more kilos of salt to buy) & no more emptying out of the dye into the drum - nice and straightforward with less room for accidents. I've been using Dylon's range of dyes for a few years now and this latest format makes it even more simple than the previous all-in-one pouch. To improve your chances of a consistent result, follow the instructions but be aware dirt or soap residues are the enemies to the dyeing process. So I ensure the wash before dyeing is a thorough one, with no fabric conditioner. You could try using distilled white vinegar as a conditioner replacement (useful when you've run out or for towels that you need to stay absorbent), because it helps by neutralising any remaining soap. Choose the highest spin setting your machine offers to get rid of all of those residues. Then, clean out the detergent/conditioner drawer and run another rinse cycle with just water, selecting the option for 'water plus' if your machine has the function to boost the amount of water used in the rinse process. The aim is to make sure there's nothing but clean detergent free fabric. Place the Dylon pod on top of the freshly-washed well-rinsed damp fabrics and follow the remaining instructions for the experience you've been dyeing to see. 4 wash cycles (cleaning, dyeing, after dye wash, machine clean-out wash) per batch of clothes is a bit energy intensive, so you might want to wait until you've got enough items to rejuvenate or for when it coincides with your scheduled machine maintenance wash and run a limescale treatment during the final clean-out wash killing two birds with one stone, to justify the 'leccy costs. But, it's better than looking scruffy or throwing out garments and your machine will most certainly be free of germs after the whole process. Several cups of tea later... results were uniform colour throughout. I chose the Navy Blue option (the product picture shot isn't that accurate in the colour shade - it appears online as a denim blue). Results were a nice and deep uniform blue to several items all done at the same time (3 pairs of partially faded navy trousers, 2 casual navy shirts that looked a little tatty and a light blue t-shirt). One dye pod was enough to refresh all the garments to look crisp and close to new again without looking artificially over coloured. I was a little apprehensive worried I'd get blotchy results claimed by other reviewers, but following the instructions which state to run on a 40 degrees cotton cycle, the results were as good as Dylon's previous generation all-in-one pouch, minus any dyed fingers. Trust me, the dye powder can get everywhere if it's mishandled, the pod just makes it all nice and simples.

It is red!!! I’d read reviews saying that the dyed garments had come out pink, but as long as you don’t overload the machine with too many items it produces a stunning red! Very easy to use and I’d certainly recommend! Make sure you check the labels tho cos polyester won’t take the colour and mixed fibres will be lighter (so may well turn out pink) I was dying a cushion cover that was a very faded terracotta colour, and a pair of white cotton shorts that had been stained by sun cream. Bear in mind that stitches are usually polyester so will stay the original colour (tho this actually gives a gorgeous contrast) Really happy with my purchase and the results!

Used two of these Intense Black pods to refresh a load of faded dark jeans and cotton tops, and the results were genuinely impressive. You just peel off the lid and pop the whole pod straight on top of the laundry, then run an empty cycle afterwards with detergent to clear the drum. The colour came out deep, even, and rich with no patchiness, and it didn't leave any dye residue on the rubber door seal once the cleaning cycle finished.

Dyed what I needed to perfectly and was easy to use in the washing machine. The issue has been cleaning the residue from the machine afterwards, that has been far from easy and simple. I followed the instructions, ran an empty cycle, and a machine clean cycle, after using, and yet we were finding flakes of black dye on the clean laundry. The inside and the seals and everything were cleaned, but I imagine the dye has just caked inside the back of the drum or somewhere else unreachable. Thankfully this never reactivated the dye and turned clothing grey, but did leave mushy black flakes of dye on clothing. It's been months now (I used this back in July) and we're still finding flakes of black on clothing. It's easiest to remove if you leave to dry and then gently pick the bits off, otherwise you run the risk of smudging it into your clothes. Thankfully I also wear a lot of black anyway, but if you want your whites to stay white, I'd avoid this and I'd dye your clothes another way. I have one more pod but I won't be using it.

I remember the days of boiling up our dyes with tons of salt so this has impressed me greatly for the ease of use. I took care with the instructions. I checked the wash cycle. I was dying 100% cotton bedding (to de-grey the house). It worked really well and the green took nicely over tones of pale grey - you could just still see the pattern through but I rather liked that. However, results are variable - the next things I dyed were also 100 cotton, but the colour took quite differently. I then pushed my luck and dyed a pair of curtains from the same range (also 100% cotton). Worried that they would come out different shades if I did them separately as the other items had done, I was keen to wash both together, but even though I used 3 packs for that attempt I pushed my luck on the amount of fabric in the machine and it came out uneven (streaks of darker tones across where the fabric must not have unfolded in the machine). I did pause the machine part way through and moved the fabric by hand to try to mitigate this - achieving nothing but a green hand lol. I'm not too unhappy with results - it's made an inexpensive change to my bedroom colour theme, but not one thing matches even though I used the same dye, and when the curtains are closed the uneven streaks show, so if you're determined to have everything the same shade this may not be the way to go for you. So - overall, fabulous, especially for single items. But not without issues to be mindful of if you're shade matching, which may be a big deal for some people.

La confezione è estremamente semplice da usare: basta inserire il pod direttamente nel cestello della lavatrice seguendo le istruzioni, senza dover preparare miscele o utilizzare contenitori aggiuntivi. La praticità è sicuramente uno dei suoi punti di forza. Il colore ottenuto è risultato uniforme e intenso, con una tonalità verde oliva naturale e piacevole. Su tessuti prevalentemente in cotone il prodotto ha aderito molto bene, coprendo efficacemente lo scolorimento e restituendo ai capi un aspetto quasi nuovo. La tinta appare resistente ai successivi lavaggi e non ho riscontrato trasferimenti di colore sulla lavatrice. Un aspetto da tenere presente è che, come indicato dal produttore e confermato dall’esperienza di molti utilizzatori, il risultato dipende molto dalla composizione del tessuto: rende al meglio su fibre naturali come cotone, lino e viscosa, mentre su tessuti sintetici l’effetto può essere meno evidente. Nel complesso è un prodotto affidabile, pratico e conveniente per chi desidera rinnovare capi usurati, uniformare il colore di indumenti sbiaditi o personalizzare tessuti senza particolari competenze. Lo ricomprerei senza esitazione per altri progetti di tintura domestica.
