Disappointed mostly in the stitching quality
Alpha Cwu 45/P Flight Jacket XL/Black Although the style and overall appearance of this flight jacket is impressive, the quality of the stitching and craftsmanship is poor for a $90 jacket. It's made in China, which perhaps accounts for the poor sewing quality. The "Remove Before Flight" ribbon on sleeve is cheap stenciled copy of the cotton embroidery product available separately on Amazon. The nylon fabric was badly wrinkled as if stored wadded up in its plastic bag and stacked on top of each other. I suppose "steaming" the fabric would remove these wrinkles, but for $90 I expected less wrinkles and not being wadded up and stuffed tightly in a box. I contend the jacket is worth $40 or 50, but not $90, especially with the poor stitching. Pls see attached photos.

Fair value for the price
Compared to other clothing items this runs on the small side both in girth and length as compared to issue jackets. Also, the zipper does not function as smooth as one would expect on a jacket of this price, Be advised that the Velcro patch sewed to the jacket has the Alpha logo on it , so if you don't have a name tag, you will be advertising for the company.

Good jacket when you want a flight jacket but not the A-2 leather
I purchased the CWU-45P not too long ago to serve in colder weather because the landing leathers A-2 is not intended for very low temps and while leather is good for wind it does jack for cold. Alpha's website says the jacket is good to 25 degrees its actually good to lower then that I have been wearing it around in -12 here in Pittsburgh pa and can report its quite warm. The CWU-45P is also the 2nd most popular so called bomber jacket currently offered to civilians ( the A-2 is the most popular). Its still current issue to USN USMC and USAF pilots I'm not sure about Army aviation but I suspect they would follow suit. The Mil spec version is fire retardant nomex but seriously are we going to need that going to the store? I think not. Now on to the jacket itself I have a number of nylon jackets and this is by far the best of any its heavy grade and very smooth (puts me in mind of nomex) the only drawback is its shorter then it looks not that I find that a bad thing for work The second thing thats going to surprise you is no slash handwarmer pockets ( the A2 has them) there was some small stitching issues ( not uncommon these days) the tag is Velcro and will accommodate any Velcro backed tag (my N7 mass effect looks awesome on it) its doing a great job as my winter coat I'm glad I bought it after such a positive experience I'm thinking about the M-65 as well. I got the CWU for my USAF patches collection I'm hoping to put my Aliens colonial marine corps patches on the M-65 stay tuned for updates

CWU 45 Jacket
At 6โ1โ and 235 pounds I ordered the 2XL which fits perfectly. Good shoulder room and the sleeves are just the right length. I could have ordered one size up, but the sleeves would have been too long. We start our day here in the low 40โs and windy. The jacket is quite warm. No regrets!

I am very pleased with this jacket
I am very pleased with this jacket. It replaces my real one from the Air Force. This copy is well made and fits like the original. BUT! You need to order one size larger than you would normally wear.

Function is fine as is build quality
Function is fine as is build quality. However i needed this for a uniform jacket for the Civil Air Patrol. The civil air patrol is the civilian auxiliary to the us air force and thus has very strict uniform requirements. We use navy color CWU-45p and MA-1 jackets as our flight jacket. This jacket is blue green not navy. It is exactly the color in the picture. I had seen other reviews that said the picture was off and the jacket was actually navy but that is not true it is very green.

Fantastic quality, fit is perfect
Fantastic quality, fit is perfect. Epic jacket.Update.. 1 and a half months since ive purchased.. i love this jacket and take great care to keep it looking good and i dont overstretch while wearing and i take it off properly. however i noticed yesterday the stitching was seperating under the right arm in 2 places.. i sewed it up to prevent it from seperating futher and today i notice its doing the same thing under the left arm in 2 places as well.. idk if this is typical because the quality is far superior to other jackets.. im just sad. =(

Alpha does it right...
I'm a large man... wore my 2 xl Alpha for the better part of 15 years until the "Battle of the Bulge". That battle defeated my ability to zipper it, so I moved to a larger size. It fits great and I can zipper it. Like my first one it is a quality jacket that will last for years. Just remember you get what you pay for. Don't go cheap !!!

This is a really good bomber jacket that fits well
This is a really good bomber jacket that fits well, and looks just as the picture. I went for a small size, I`m 38" chest. I bought a Sage Green and although made in China don`t let that put you off. Shame it`s not made in the USA though.

I was swallowed by it and looked like a bean bag
This my 5th order of Alpha's jacket and I finally hit a bump.I'm 5'-6" with 36" chest & 30" waist, according to Alpha's website, size S fits 34-36" chest, 28-30" waist, so I ordered the S on Sunday night, received it on Wednesday, huge credit to Amazon.ca. Once I put the jacket on, I was swallowed by it and looked like being in a bean bag, it's actually at least size M shown on Alpha's website in my opinion, so I ordered a XS, to my surprise, other than a tighter torso, the XS actually has the same shoulder width as the S, what a bump!

Awesome jacket very high quality and very warm
Awesome jacket very high quality and very warm. Deffinitely better for colder climates. It fits small I typically float between a large and an xl but with this jacket a 2xl fits perfectly. They run very short as well and Im not a tall guy so thats saying something, however flight jackets are not intended to be long. Overall great jacket Im very impressed.
