Advanced Acoustics Soundproofing Mat 2m by 1.2m by 5mm Thin - 10kg/m2 Mass Loaded Vinyl MLV

Mad a huge difference, installed under the carpet in a bedroom above a kitchen... Now voices/kitchen noises are much less audible. There was a strong smell at first but I left it outside for a week before installing and by then the smell had gone.

Superb at soundproofing. Reduced noise by 90%. But it must be fitted properly.

Mass loaded vinyl for soundproofing bedroom floor above a noisy kitchen. Sealing joints with Everflex AC50 then will lay underlay plus carpet on top.

Not to Spec! Product was 30mm shorter than advertised. Measured the room, unrolled the product only to find them 30mm shorter than the advertised spec. Beware when ordering…

Very effective Very heavy!

This seems to keep out high pitched sounds and low, all that are somewhere in the middle. Easy to cut into the size you may need. It is damn heavy, probably what is needed in order to deflect sound. Sound is often best kept out closest to the area you do not wish it to enter. A room is expensive to soundproof often due to the size. I have a theory (This may sound odd, but if you're desperate enough to get some sleep....) that I will test tonight. Two times four square inches of this product, two pieces of acoustic foam (mostly for comfort ) Placed against my ears, a nappie (Maybe) to keep it all in place, surely that will keep out most noise :)

Didn't make much difference at all

Not worth the money, spent so much time ensuring fitted well with laps and no holes ect...effect is minimal if anything at all. The stuff is heavy and very hard to fit due to it always want to roll back up! Not cheap and not worth it.

Das Material ist etwas schwerer zu verarbeiten als MLV (massegeladenes Vinyl), da es spröder ist. Man braucht guten Montagekleber (Bauhaus) und am besten noch einen 2. Mann/Frau und muss eine Platte davor fixieren, bis der Kleber ausgehärtet ist (mind.2 Stunden), wenn man es nicht zwischen zwei Gipsplatten befestigt! Der Wert ist mit 28dB Undurchlässigkeit etwas geringer als das MLV100 mit 32dB. Denke aber, dass das kaum was ausmachen dürfte, wenn alles gut ausgekleidet ist (Ritzen, Decken, Ecken). Sieht jedenfalls vielversprechend aus! Musste darauf zurück greifen, weil MLV ausverkauft war-zum Glück hab ich dieses noch gefunden, sonst wär mein Proberaumfertigbau ins Wasser gefallen!

Für gute Schalldämmung braucht man ein Material, das Gewicht hat. Diese leichten Akustik-Schaumstoffe dämmen kaum. (Vermutlich sind diese auch nicht dafür gemacht, daber das ist eine andere Geschichte)
