Brilliant. My grandson had about given up on his Hudl2 which was not charging. Then I read about this little unit and found a couple of YouTube videos that explained how to fit it. It really was quite an easy job - as other reviewers have said, the most difficult part was taking off the back of the Hudl. Once that was achieved, fitting the unit took less than five minutes and it was much easier putting the back of the Hudl back on than it was taking it off. End result - a fully working Hudl, charging up without any problem. Grandson very pleased, thinks I'm an electrical genius.

Arrived quickly and port works perfectly. Ordered it after Hudl would only charge if USB was at a funny angle! Easy to fit compared to lots of other devices - you just have to disconnect and unscrew the old one. Trickiest part of all is removing the case, after that it is easy! Have also replaced the battery since the new port was put in and the whole thing is now working like new. Perhaps people experiencing problems need to consider doing that too.

A useful spare part as Micro USB connectors are not that robust and become mangled at the slightest sign of impatience of the user. Tricky to open the case to get to the part. If you have no previous experience of opening plastic clip cases, I recommend checking on line, there are videos to help. This board works in a hudl2 for recharging, but cuts the recharging off when you turn the hudl2 off. I had two both had the same operational defect. When I substituted a power board from a defunct hudl2, the hudl2 would recharge and work at the same time. The defect is not a show stopper but means that you cannot keep the hudl battery topped up while working.

I'd like to give this zero stars if it was possible. With the postage I paid £16 for this item and it only lasted 24 hrs. I didn't think it would last long when I plugged in the charger and the micro-USB plug was sloppy, when it is, and still is, a good firm fit in my phone and other tablet. I managed to charge the Hudl twice before it ceased working. I have since bought another one from an eBay outlets which appears to be vastly superior. I get a good firm connection when plugging the charger in and the Hudl starts charging immediately. The one I bought here seemed to pause for about 15 secs before the charging light would come on (on the two times I charged at all that is). On top of that the eBay bought item only cost £6.65 inc. P&P...over £9 cheaper. My advice is obviously keep clear and go elsewhere.

I received this item yesterday, although it was amazon Prime order and it said buy in next hour for next day delivery it did not arrive the next day but the following. The item itself was easy to fit and the Huddle 2 is now charging and working well. I would buy from this company again. If you can get the huddle 2 case off gently, you can fit this yourself easily!

Was able to swap out the charging port on my daughter's Hudl2 used youtube videos as a guide - the hardest part was getting the case off the Hudl, but once that was done replacing the charging port took only a few minutes. We're now able to charge the Hudl so we should get a year or two more life out of it - worth the relatively small investment.

I bought this as my daughter's Huddle 2 had become increasingly difficult to charge and I suspected a problem with the charging port. The product was well made and simple to install - opening the Huddle case was the hardest part of the operation. Once opened, it was simply a matter of removing two screws and two ribbon cables from the existing board and then fitting this in the reverse order. Good value (on-line companies were quoting £30+ to perform this repair) and has extended the life of my daughter's tablet.
