After having surgery I was laid up for 7 weeks. I entertained myself bring some of my old game consoles- N64 , GameCube. Before buying this converter the low resolution games looked so pixelated and basically unplayable. It was easy to attach to one of the hdmi television ports and attached to the game outputs perfectly ! The price was great and it made recouping bearable. So dust off those older video game consoles and play the games we grew up with!

Easy setup and great way to get videos from older camcorder to digital format. I’m sure it would work well for vhs too!

I was a little skeptical on how good this would be being its USB2 and it was cheap but so far have been greatly impressed. Used the free OBS software and its worked amazingly well for digitizing my old homemade video VHS tapes which I have a crazy amount of. Would have given it 5 stars, but for some reason it drops the connection if its idle for long periods and I have to go in and basically restart the capture device.

We got a new TV and needed an adapter for our old gaming systems. Works great for the game cube on our fire TV. Easy to use and quality is transferred well

EASE OF USE is so-so. I’m computer savvy, and I got it working when I followed the instructions and downloaded the free PotPlayer software from Microsoft Apps to my Windows 11 laptop. [The download link in the manual set off my antivirus software for phishing]. But it is more complicated than a VCR, so I can understand the frustration of some reviewers. PICTURE QUALITY is only fair. I tested the video quality with a good DVD and an S-Video cable (better than an unshielded RCA cable). The resolution of the transfer is lower than the original DVD, including the focus sharpness as well as the color range. The bright areas are a hazy; the black is not as dark; in dark areas, the color is pixel-patchy. TECH SUPPORT is a runaround. I exchanged 5 rounds of emails with the customer service address provided. They just kept asking for more information, long after I provided the product name and the software I used. They asked for a sample video clip; then said “The video you sent is wrong and can't be opened. Could you resend it.” I checked the sent message, and the clip plays fine. I never did get an answer to my question about improving picture quality. [Were they just pretending that my problem was unusual??] SO: I’m returning the device and trying a different model.

I came across a long, lost VCR tape from my daughter when she was 2 hadn't seen it in over 30 years family member had it and our big move to another state we donated our two VCR's. Luckily I came across the VCR in a thrift store modern TV don't work with these anymore, but I found this handy little gadget for 10 bucks. It did the trick perfectly.

It definitely works but requires you plug it in with a very short power cord, and if you think about it, you also have to plug in the devices you’re trying to convert so you need a outlet adapter or extension cord as well.
