Proven Performance Over Multiple Seasons!
Update: I'm upgrading my original review to 5 stars now that I've owned these boots for several seasons. Real-world, long-term testing has proven these are exceptional! Build Quality: These are exceptionally well-constructed boots that have stood the test of time. The craftsmanship is solid, the materials are high-quality, and they've maintained their integrity through multiple seasons of regular use. Yes, they're a bit more substantial than lightweight hiking boots, but that robust build is exactly why they've lasted so well and provide superior protection on the trail or shoveling snow in the driveway or walking the snowy cold wet streets of NYC in the winter. Performance - Where They Really Matter: I specifically purchased these for winter hiking, and they've exceeded my expectations. My feet stay warm and completely dry even in cold, wet, snowy conditions. This is the true test of a winter boot, and these pass with flying colors. Fit & Comfort: The sizing is accurateโorder your normal size and you'll be good to go. The fit is comfortable right out of the box and only gets better as they break in. Long-term verdict: After several years of ownership, I'm genuinely thrilled with these boots. They've proven their value through consistent performance, durability, and reliability. When a product performs this well over multiple seasons, you know you've made a smart investment. Bottom line: If you need dependable winter hiking boots that will keep your feet warm, dry, and comfortable for years to come, these are an excellent choice. Highly recommend based on real-world experience!

Xpeti is my new go to boot/shoe
I bought one pair of them, the more aggressive hiking boot, I liked the look. But, I had my doubts because they were less expensive than merrels, my other favorite shoe/boot, got my first order in, and I like them so much, Iโve now purchased more/different models. Which brings me to this pair here. My other pairs of Xpetis are leather. And are much stiffer, these are a nylon material which forms to your foot instantly, more like a real snow shoe. Which makes them extremely comfortable as soon as you put them on. The sole, is more of a flat look, without the arch in the sole, but plenty of arch inside for the foot. This is to give you more area of the boot on the ground. For ice and snow, traction Plenty of grip on the sole, solid firm feel on the ground. To me, a good boot for a good price, Iโm a 9 in a merrel, these are true to fit for me. Buy them, youโll be happy you did.

Warm shoes - but layered 2 pair of socks
Updated review after wearing and hiking with the boots in actual snow. I tested the boots in snow and appx 18โฐ F (-7.7โฐ C) - and decided that I was glad I brought more socks. I was wearing alpaca socks, and after 20-30 minutes, I was feeling some cold come through the shoes. I decided to double up, and wore the alpaca socks and a regular cotton pair on top of those. Our hike was in the Colorado Rocky mountains - and was approximately 3 miles, with powdery (dry) snow and was appx 14โฐF (-10โฐ C). With socks doubled up - these shoes were great. I had to make sure to loosen my shoestrings to accommodate for the extra space the socks needed. I anticipate that I'll need to add a sole cushion into the shoes also. Day 2 of hiking was on rocky areas that the snow had melted from - so the terrain was still cold - but harder surfaces to walk on. At the 3nd of an approximate 2 mile hike, my feet were letting me know that I will need more cushion under them. They did stay warm, though. Bottom line - I'd suggest ordering a 1/2 size larger, plan on adding a sole insert for cushion, and double up on socks if it's REALLY cold out. Traction seemed good. ----- (Original review) The shoes are warm, and have great tread on them. I'm sure they'll be fine for hiking in the snow. I regularly wear a size 9.5 (men's size) in other brands - so ordered that for me in this brand. They are very snug. Feel a bit small. There should be a notice about that in the product description (like there is for the women's boots). -----

2nd pair of XPETI's . Now my favorite brand
My 2nd pair of XPETI . My first pair was the Highland and they have been beat , I've worn them thru rain/mud/snow and even screwed studs into the thick grippy soles to be able to walk on the bad ice we had last season and they are great / fit great and even though not winter shoes keep my feet warm rather well . Just purchased these Crest boots for Christmas . Super nice, very light and same grippy tread as my Highlands. The fit to size, I got them a size 11 ( I take usually an 10.5) to wear with a bit heavier sock. The instructions do mention that these shoes should be retreated with waterproofing spray after some use and cleaning . I will probably do this once a month during the winter snows. Very Happy with both pair and XPETI is my go to brand.

Warm
For the money these are great boots. Not stiff and very warm. I wore them right out of the box for a couple miles and they were totally fine. I ordered a half size up for thicker socks and the sizing was spot on. One other thing, the thin speed laces take a little while to get used to but well worth the time!

So far so good
So far, these are the most comfortable boots I have ever worn. I have not tested them in snow as of yet, but they feel very warm with just one layer of wool socks on. I have hiked with them and had to cross over water. For what it's worth, my feet never felt wet. Lacing them up is a breeze, but it's also cool that they send you a regular pair of shoe laces if you're old school.

Very comfortable, buy a size larger than usual.
Incredibly comfortable shoe. rugged and well made. Its well insulated so make sure you purchase a size larger or if you like wearing thick socks, then consider a size and a half larger. Even though its well insulated, it breathes well as I live in Brisbane, Australia its comfortable wearing in our sub-tropical climate.

Tested at -10C to -22C for 4 hours
Tested them in cold weather for a few months, very happy with the performance. My feet remain warm at -22C for over an hour while shovelling. While visiting Quebec City spent 4 hours walking in snowy conditions at -10C. Most importantly they do not make my feet sweat. Just right, comfortable and warm i recommend them for temperature between -10C and -22C for up to 4 hours.

noice
very noice. for the price in cad Id say it's pretty fair, for the quality seems to be there. I dont suspect theyre going to fall apart soon, they have a narrow design, and the size is pretty true to NA sizing Im usually a 10.5 and these fit perfect. came with extra regular laces ontop of the thin ones on the boot. May deem like a random knockoff chinese brand but its quite nice quality, comparable to other brand names in canada. considering it all comes from china anyways...
