Great stabbing implement for wet conditions.
I didn't like the lanyard ring, but fortunately it was very easy to remove. I originally envisioned keeping this in the shower since it won't rust like a regular blade. The others who share the same showering facility didn't like the idea so I just keep it hanging from a nail on the wall in my hallway looking cool. I get lots of positive comments from visitors, and it feels really neat in the hands too. The grip is great, even when it is wet and your hands are wet. I'm sure it would be a deadly stabbing implement if needed. While fairly sharp, it is not ideal for cutting as it will bend really easily. The material is not hard enough. Just dropping it once caused the very sharp tip to bend and be a little blunted but it is still very sharp. Overall it is no replacement for a real knife, but if you want a stabbing implement to store in places that would corrode a metal implement it cannot really be beaten. Without the lanyard ring on it, I don't think there is any metal on it. If you were an undercover agent trying to infiltrate a place without being detected by the wand wielders, it might be a good choice for you. It is also very lightweight! I think this would be a great emergency tool for boating too. You can just stow it and forget it without worrying about it corroding or weighing a lot.

Unbeatable value as a self-defense item
First, since the listing isn't entirely clear on this point, this knife is plastic. But it's not like those rubbery training knives either. It's reasonably stiff and comes with a sharpened edge. Mine had a couple of nicks in the edge, but they were easy to smooth out with a nail file. Also note that this knife does not comes with a sheath. I made one for it pretty easily using some potato sack material and cardboard to line the inside. All you have to do to make a sheath is: 1. Cut 2 pieces cardboard about 3/4" inch larger than the knife blade (to account for seam and the ridge running the center of the blade). 2. Cut 2 pieces of your outer material about 1/2" larger than the cardboard 3. Fold the outer material over the edges of the cardboard and hold it all together like a sandwich. 4. Use a large sewing needle and heavy-guage "topstitch" thread (kevlar is great if you have it) and sew around the outer edge making sure to pierce all 4 layers with each stitch. If you can't sew it for whatever reason, one alternative might be to use rivets. You should only really need 5, but maybe put a few more for aesthetic purposes. Even if you do sew it, a couple rivets by the throat would look nice and enhance the long-term durability. Heck, I think I'm going to add a couple to mine now..

FGX version of Larger Double-edge
One of the larger Cold Steel fgx items with a spine down center of the blade to make it more rigid. It has a grippier handle than their tanto but the tanto fgx blade is stronger. When you need something longer than the very good fgx delta spikes this or tanto blade should do.

Very interesting concept
I'm not sure of the "why" factor behind this concept, but it is unique. My plan was to try this out for metal detecting, to help with digging targets out of a plug cut with a shovel. it has worked amazingly well for this. the knife would certainly be lethal in the stabbing department for self-defense, Its also larger than you might think and you can edge up the plastic if you use a carbide knife sharpener, but the material is not something to really cut with, it will, and it could, but its not a metal knife. Its a defensive styled weapon for zero maintenance. (I guess) again, not sure the why factor? but it is working well for the idea I had.

Is that a banana in your pants?
This thing is tough. Not your grandfather’s plastic. If you need protection beyond the metal detectors, this is it.

Read full description before buying
It’s completely plastic. Kinda flimsy

Well made
Excellent nonmetallic knife cut surprisingly well will do in a pinch cheap enough to stash whatever you need I bought two it had a little too much flex for what I liked but because it’s made out of plastic I was able to re-profiled the blade with a mill file to make it more suited for what I needed

Ive read some of the reviews and for what this is its actually a fairly good product for what it is and what its intended use is...the negative reviews i read were clearly written by customers that did not fully read the item description, i will note that this is completely non metalic and is made from synthetic and composite materials...Handle is the same as the metal bladed knives that they make. The blade is similar to the fiber reinforced handle material on some of my folders. Well made item considering the materials its constructed from. Im using it for a display piece but i can see this being a good tool for teaching knife handling safety and also as a self defense training aid ( i would round off the tip and edges if it was used for self defense training as it is quite sharp.) All in all pleased with my purchase

Ignore the negative reviews, I can tell the negative reviewers never tested this knife on realistic human targets, it goes into ballistic gel very well, And I took the knife to my skin for blade sharpness tests, it's sharp enough to cut you open even though it's plastic, So actually even for defensive slashes this would be completely viable, especially if you consider the Eyes, this knife could blind you permanently with either stabs or slashes, and besides that fact, I actually almost cut my hand open with this knife testing how sharp the edge is, and I was using very light force, So don't listen to people who say this can't slice someone..... it certainly can, I'd say this knife could actually slice you to the bone.
