Blimey, things have certainly advanced over the years! Connecting an remote network camera used to be the domain of real coding wizards with having to open router ports etc to allow the remote access to function - but not any more with the Tapo Pan and Tilt Wifi camera. Installation is really simple and easy - install the Tapo app onto your phone, set up an account and select your camera model. Plug the camera into the supplied power adapter and select it from the app (temporarily using the camera's broadcast Wifi network). Installation done! The camera can be accessed from the app, remotely moved 360 degrees horizontally and moved up and down within a limited range (114 degrees), the image quality is excellent - I'm a photographer and have used all sorts of cameras over the years, but the Tado 2K QHD produces some really nice footage - you can certainly read car number plates and clearly see faces with no issue at all. Zooming on the 220 model is digital, but still very good quality and far better than expected. The night vision is ok but I set the infrared emitters to be off in the app, as they reflect really badly from the internal glass window behind which I've positioned my camera. The night video is still fine but at a slower frame rate than the stock 15FPS during the day. (this FPS can be increased with the app - but remember that higher FPS will result in your home broadband slowing down as the camera uploads the footage at a higher framerate/larger file size every time something triggers it to record) Really good camera, the price is amazing and the connectivity is spot on. Absolutely worth every penny and wholeheartedly recommend this product.

Lovely camera at a great price and works wonderfully well on my android mobile phone with no problem setting up the app which is readily available on the Google play store. Of course when viewing on my mobile phone screen, even with my strong reading glasses on, it’s still not possible for me to completely appreciate the crisp detail this camera has to offer. Oh well to really take in this fantastic picture I’ll just view it on my new Amazon Kindle Fire HD 10 tablet which will allow me to really see the fine resolution on a decent size screen. No I won’t, because incredibly Amazon do not have the Tapo app available on their own apps site and as anyone with a Kindle will know you have to jump thru hoops to get and keep Google playstore running on a Kindle. Unfortunately there is no completely straightforward way to get Tapo on any Kindle device. You couldn’t make this up! OK I know what I’ll do to see the bigger picture I’ll just view my TP-Link Tapo camera on my Windows 10 Laptop which I normally have with me when I’m away from home and its already set up to view my Hikvision outdoor cameras. Oh dear no I won’t because there is no dedicated TP-Link program for Windows PC’s, and this being the world’s leading desktop operating system with a market share of almost 75% percent!!! So I repeat myself, You couldn’t make this up! As I said it’s a pretty decent camera for the price and worth buying if you can live with solely viewing on android devices. But until such time as Amazon and TP get their software act together I will not be recommending this camera.

Motion and Sound Detection: Beyond just video quality, the Tapo C225 has intelligent motion and sound detection that sends real-time alerts to my phone. If my baby stirs or makes noise, I get an instant notification, allowing me to respond quickly. 4. Cheaper Than Traditional Baby Monitors: Baby monitors with similar features (video, sound alerts, and night vision) tend to be significantly more expensive, and often lack the video quality of the Tapo C225. Instead of spending money on a standalone monitor, I’ve found this camera offers everything I need at a fraction of the cost. 5. Mobile App Convenience: Instead of relying on a clunky handheld monitor, the Tapo app on my phone allows me to check the camera feed from anywhere. It’s much more convenient to have everything integrated into my phone, especially since I always have it with me. Cons: 1. Wi-Fi Dependent: As with most smart devices, the camera relies on a stable Wi-Fi connection. If the connection drops or weakens, there can be interruptions in the feed. However, I haven’t encountered significant issues with this in my experience. In summary, the Tapo C225 is a high-quality, feature-packed camera that works wonderfully as a baby monitor. Its superior night vision and HD video quality easily rival (or even surpass) expensive traditional baby monitors, all while being much more affordable. If you’re looking for a reliable and economical solution, this camera is a perfect fit for new parents. The number 1 reason that I chose this over other alternatives, is the close up night vision uses invisible infrared, meaning their are no red lights coming from this camera, completely dark.

UPDATE: My second one has now gone faulty, so I can no longer recommend Tapo cameras. They are just not reliable, they’re only lasting a few months before failing. Easy to install, easy to use. All the standard features you would expect. The one area I feel this product excels in is night vision with the infra-red LEDs turned on but interestingly it really pulls in detail with those LEDs turned off, this means you can place it inside behind a window looking out. As long as the room is dark so nothing reflects off the window and there is a street light outside for a little light, it works so well. Now, I use mine as a weather cam so I can share pics of the current weather and the beautiful sunrise and sunset skies with friends but it’s great for looking overnight or in the dark mornings to see if it’s snowed or rained during the night.

WRONG power supply! incorrectly supplied with a built in EURO plug power supply therefor of NO use in the UK. -nowhaving o go back to a Post Office to return. NOT GOOD quality control!

this one is teaming up with another tapo model and works good, again easy to set up wifi only but in return has more noise detection modes.

Ho acquistato questa video camera su consiglio diretto di un'amica che la aveva già a casa sua. La telecamera è di semplice utilizzo, va collegata alla rete elettrica e tramite app dedicata connessa al wifi. Dall'app si può verificare la connessione, si possono aggiungere altre telecamere (cosa che farò al più presto), si può zoommare e ruotare l'inquadratura. La telecamera può essere appoggiata ovunque e persino essere fissata al muro sia in posizione orizzontale che capovolta. Unico, unicissimo neo, arriva con la presa inglese (come mostro in foto) ma problema sormontabile con un semplice adattatore che costa non più di 1 euro.

Ich bin von der Tapo C210 so überzeugt, dass ich mittlerweile fünf Stück davon im Einsatz habe – in jedem Zimmer steht eine. Für diesen Preis bekommt man aktuell kaum eine bessere Sicherheitslösung. Warum ich sie immer wieder kaufe: * Perfekt für Tierbesitzer: Ich nutze die Kameras hauptsächlich, um meine Katzen im Auge zu behalten. Der Bewegungsmelder reagiert zuverlässig und durch die Schwenk- und Neigefunktion entwischt mir kein Buddy, egal wo sie gerade herumwuseln. * Hervorragendes Bild: Die 2K-Auflösung (3MP) ist gestochen scharf, und auch die Nachtsicht funktioniert tadellos. Man sieht wirklich jedes Detail, auch wenn das Licht aus ist. * Sicherheitsgefühl: Die Kameras geben mir ein extrem gutes Gefühl, wenn ich nicht zu Hause bin. Die Benachrichtigungen aufs Handy kommen sofort, wenn sich etwas rührt. * Einfache App-Steuerung: Alle fünf Kameras lassen sich super zentral in einer App verwalten. Die Einrichtung war kinderleicht und stabil im WLAN. * 2-Wege-Audio: Ab und zu nutze ich die Gegensprechfunktion, um kurz nach dem Rechten zu sehen oder die Katzen zu rufen. Fazit: Wer eine zuverlässige, günstige und technisch ausgereifte Kamera sucht, ist hier genau richtig. Ob als Katzen-Cam oder zur allgemeinen Sicherheit – ich würde sie jederzeit wieder kaufen!
