20 Pound Solid FORGED STEEL ANVIL w holes and step horn

Absolutely awesome little anvil. Description is too modest, this is more than just a jewelers block! I pound solid steel flat bar stock on this little bad boy and the face of the hammering surface is still impeccable! My only query is does this company make a larger version?!? If so.....I WANT IT!!!!!

A bit soft on top. Not for heavy hammering. Good for final shaping and lighter pounding. Large hammering leaves dents in top. I like it for what it is.

It's ok for small work but dents really easy

This is a solid little anvil. The picture is from before I started working, but it is holding up beautifully. No dings or chips, and the ring from striking it isn't piercing. It could have gone without the horn being painted, but I took care of that. Absolutely worth the price, and a great find for a beginning blacksmith like myself.

The ball bearing test returns at more than 50% bounce back. This has exceeded expectations for a small anvil. I would purchase this again.

The anvil is well made and was promptly delivered. It made a great present to a beginning hobbyist, with nothing to complain about.

I shopped around and decided on this small anvil based on reviews and the form factor. What do they make these things from? In my first use to flatten some copper wire dents were put into the surface apparently by the copper wire! WHAT?? This was after I had spent time cleaning up the surface and polishing the horn. Polishing the surface shows that some voids in the casting have been filled with material even softer than the anvil cast material. Take a look at the attached photos to see what I am talking about with regard to the dents and the filler material. Since I have modified this, I cannot send it back for a refund but I suggest that you avoid this product. I wish I had not believed some of those glowing reviews.

I ha e been using this for around 2 months now and it works for small stuff like knives just make sure you bolt it down very well. The only other complaint I have is the face of the anvil is a little messed up but that may just be because of how I use it but not bad for a starter
