Really informative with crafty fun..
Great book, full of information about the Stone Age and loads of craft activity's suitable for ages 6 and up I would think, although some of the activities are more suited to older children.I would imagine all the activities to could be modified to be age appropriate using different materials then those that are mentioned in the book.Used together with Stone Age - Set experimental archeology hands-on school material  and loads of fiction and other non-fiction books including The Secrets of Stonehenge , The History Detective Investigates: Stone Age to Iron Age , Ug : Boy Genius Of The Stone Age And His Search For Soft Trousers  just to name a few, has made the Stone Age come to life in our house and has really made the hands-on craft activities a great experience all round.Highly recommended. Although mentioned by another reviewer that this version is almost identical to The Stone Age (Step into)  by the same author, I have ordered it as well, as it had a different amount of pages, will update further when it arrives to clarify any differences.

Good
Good coverage and well laid out and a good price. However, if you are looking to collect a few books on the topic please be aware that this book is almost exactly the same as 'Step into the Stone Age'. This isn't made clear in the product info and the covers are different.

Beautifully presented
Bought this for my 7 year old doing The Stone Age at primary school. It is actually a bit advanced for him in places but it is a beautiful read that I will hold onto in case the Stone Age crops up again in secondary school.

Some of the art activities look really good and practical
Some of the art activities look really good and practical. There is a large reliance on air dried clay so I would have liked to see a variety of materials used.
