Silverline Laminate Floor Clamp 130mm (633773)

These work really well once you work out how to use them. Here are my instructions. To tighten: 1. Lubricate the mechanism. It's very dry and stiff from the factory which makes it all but impossible to release the tension. Spray some lubricant (WD40 or similar) between the plates at the end of the ratchet drum and operate the ratchet a few times. Wipe off the excess. 2. Put the fixed end plate in position on the far side of the floor. 3. At the other end, pass the strap up through the hole in the base plate (probably not necessary but seems to help keep the strap flat against the floor) and up through the centre of the split drum. Pull all the spare strapping through until the plate is within a couple of centimetres of the floor edge you want to tighten against. 4. Operate the ratchet handle to tighten up the last few centimetres. To loosen: 5. Stick your finger in the hole in the handle and pull the release mechanism away from the drum. This disengages the teeth of the ratchet. 6. Whilst still holding the release mechanism open the handle as far as it will go and let go of the release mechanism. The handle should go further than it does in normal operation and should latch in this position. At this point I found that the plate would spring off the floor as the tension is released. 7. To remove the strap from the ratchet simply pull the two plates apart. The strap should simply pull out ( if you've followed step one). Hope that helps.

I loved this product. I was having a bit of a nightmare laying my new flooring. This made me look like a pro, as; I put my floor down in record time. It made the job a breeze. The only downside was the lack of instructions.( you may think it's a clamp what instruction do you need!, but when feeding the strap into the clamp don't do it from the end. The strap is too long and will wrap so tight it may take ages to undo, plus it can't work. What you have to do is work out the distance of the boards your laying, at that moment, feed that amount, and a little extra into the clamp. You do need to readjust the strap each new couple of layers of boards Which is a little annoying, but; once you get use to it, your lay your flooring in record time.

I ordered 3 of these to install Engineered wood flooring on to bedroom floor. One of the the ratchet system was locked and would not move. Amazon dealt quickly with the query and the item was replaced rapidly and efficiently. The strapping takes some figuring out as there are were no instructions on the packaging! However on figuring out how to thread the strapping through the ratchet system and how to tighten the system, found these clamps to be highly effectively in helping me to glue the flooring together in sections. The ratchet system was able to create a very tight seal between the floor boards and the length of strapping meant I had no issues with gripping from one side of the bedroom to the other (over 3 metres). Good product, just would have appreciated some instructions!

Bought 4 of these on Amazon as was fitting a large area of wooden flooring. After working out how the clamps operated found these to be invaluable to ensure the T&G boards were pulled tightly together. Provide a tight join when ratcheted. Only minor personal problem was the straps are 5m long and I had an area longer than that. But I suppose there has to be a limit on length. Managed to get over this by having a pull plate at each end and ratchet mechanism in the middle with both straps fed through that. Would definitely recommend.

The ratchet stops working when you apply any pressure tightening up the strap.

Spot on for value and performance, I'm a professional carpenter joiner and these make laying floors easy , dont look at more expensive versions , at this price if they dont last forever , who cares ? Just buy another set .

Excellent, & much cheaper than others. I used these for laying a tongue & grooved floor which had to be clamped while the glue set & they reached the full width of the room, just as required. This type of ratchet design can be a bit fiddly to release but it is inherent in the design, common to roof straps etc.

Absolute rubbish - not fit for purpose. Ratchet does not work properly so does not latch to tighten strap. I bought 4 and they are all useless. Silverline brand is poor / cheap and not worthy. Do not buy.

Calidad del tensor correcta, con costuras de apariencia resistente en los extremos, y que con la carraca hace más fuerza de lo que parece. Lo compré para unir una lama de suelo laminado que por despiste se me había quedado separada del resto y al tener todo el suelo puesto no podía corregir sin desmontar todo. Este sargento me ha salvado, con su ayuda lo he puesto en los dos extremos de las paredes y con unos pequeños golpes de martillo en el golpeador metálico las he conseguido unir. Para mí he amortizado de sobra su precio.

Silverline est géniale pour une utilisation très ponctuelle et ce "serre Joint" pour parquet (ou terrasse j'imagine) est vraiment essential pour la pose collé car entre lignes, les lames ont une tendance de se réouvrir à force de tapper les autres plus loins. La presse à parquet maintien tout parfait - pas besoin de serrer fort de tout (qui soulève la lame), mais juste assez pour que la ligne reste parfaite. 4 étoiles car j'ai rayé deux lames de parquet avant de comprendre ce qui s'est passé - la vise d'une de mes 5 presses frotté contre le parquet en ouvrant la presse grrrrrrrr. J;ai collé un peu de scotch "gaffer" (costaud )sur les vise de toutes mes presses et après pas de souci (mieux peut être mettre un peu de colle parquet et de laisser sécher!).
