Tormek TT-50 Truing Tool

This little tool is good at what it does. I watched both this Tormek and another cheaper tool on YouTube. This seemed much easier to use, and so it proved to be, although it was more expensive. It took two shallow ( about.1mm ) passes to achieve a flat, round stone. It’s now the best it’s ever been. It’s expensive for a tool that wii be used infrequently but there’s no alternative. The side that screws to the cross bar has a wedge shaped hole and locks firmly into place. There is no play in the thread but a little in cutter holder and it does vibrate if you don’t take it slowly. Overall I recommend.

It's pretty essential if you use your Tormek on a regular basis. Easy to use and stops your grinding wheel look like a fan belt pulley

Really clear instructions. Fantastic results on my cheap Axminster grinder. I tried using a budget version of a truing tool and it was a nightmare. Left gouges and set the stone at a poor angle. This tool had the stone back to 'true' in half hour. There's a reason it's patented I guess!

I bought a second hand Tormek and the stone hadn’t been looked after. I bought the TT-55, it took me around ten minutes to setup and correct the stone with very impressive results. Must have for anyone that uses a Tormek.

If you hone your tools, especialy the gouges, on the Tormek T3 or T7 you will need this to true the stone, to get it back level and square. Be carefull though, it is too easy to go too deep and gouge the stone. All the Tormek accessories are of very high quality,hence they come with a hefty price, but they will last a long time. A must have!!

if you have a tormex you will need this tool at some stage it is expensive unless you know someone that will lend you one it dose an excellent job of levelling the stone
