Donโt call it a case.... Call it a bumper!
So Iโve always been an apple gang these last few months Iโve gotten two surfaces and I was quite surprised when I found out that there werenโt a whole lot of selections for cases in fact thereโs really not much in the way of selection so it was important for me to be able to use the tape cover but I also have some kind of protection that was minimal and not to obtrusive or bulky because I carry them in my backpack. So when I came across this I what I would call a bumper I was a bit skeptical because it seemed a little more expensive than the others but thereโs nothing more annoying than a case that unfolds until like three times the size and you have to deal with all the flaps everywhere if you know what I mean. So I ordered it I received it and again Iโm still not calling it a case but itโs made it this far with me and I am pretty happy with it all and all the type cover fits in it nicely and it is incorporated into the bumper well they Spared no expense there. HOWEVER..... It came with a pen holder as I feel all cases for the surface should now I also have a surface Pro X with the same case and itโs pen holder is on the top of this case and it fits quite nicely into it youโll notice in the pictures this pen holder is on the side. I should also note that on the surface Pro X version the only part of the pen holder thatโs exposed is a small Section in the middle otherwise the pen is completely encased in the bumper so to speak This one they seem to do the opposite the whole pens exposed except for one little section thatโs holding it now to top it off they tied a string to something that was supposed to go on the pen which then gave you about 6 feet of string to do it with I donโt know I guess youโre supposed to wrap it around the pen holder? So annoyed with that I cut the string off which is OK but now I have this huge knob sticking out On the left-hand side holding the pen which as youโre probably thinking gets knocked off of it pretty frequently coming in and out of the backpack I wish that wouldโve been done differently otherwise donโt call it a case called a bumper

Excellent Protection
I highly recommend this protective cover for one's MS Surface Pro 8 computer. I would recommend this to family members and friends. This Kensington product might be one of the more expensive rugged cases but it performs in stellar ways! I have been using in for a couple months now. Set up was a breeze. I have NO ISSUE with the fit of the Surface Pro keyboard. The Surface Pro pen fits securely out of the way. The power cable fits perfectly, unlike a review I read before my purchase, so the manufacturer must have improved this feature in time. BTW, I also purchased from Amazon a spare wall power supply as well as a pair of mobile (12VDC) power supplies for portable operations. (I wish I could buy a spare internal battery because it doesn't seem to have an awesome capacity for my uses. Maybe I will find a way around this later, unless it is a service call item? Lastly, the Surface Pro 8 does not have an mic input for recording, certainly no line-level input, so I guess I need to get an external USB-C audio interface. But I now digress. All things considered, these purchases are serving me very well.

The clip on the tether is looser than the clip on the case! Tether clip doesn't hold my pencil!!
All in all, this is a WONDERFUL case! Everything about its design is terrific. Perfect fit for my new Surface Go 2 tablet, wonderful touch and weight and overall layout. However, I didn't buy a Microsoft pencil (for $100), instead opting for a wonderful Renaisser stylus for Surface (for $30). Works perfectly, and saved me lots of money. Now the Renaisser pencil is .36" in diameter whereas the official Microsoft Surface Pen is .38" in diameter. Doesn't seem like much, but apparently it is critical. And it's critical because the tether that comes with the Kensington BlackBelt case and which connects to the case (and which is designed to hold the pen on a foot-long string when it is not clipped in to the built-in primary clip on the left edge of the case, and to prevent it from getting lost or falling on the floor) has its own second clip at the end of the stringl This second clip is supposed to hold the pen on a string permanently, even when the pen is removed from the primary fixed clip on the left edge of the case. Well, the secondary clip at the end of the tether IS TOO LARGE for my Renaisser stylus. It does not hold it at all. Perhaps it would work if only my pen were just .02" fatter, to match the size of the Microsoft Stylus, I don't know. I only know that it does NOT hold my Renaisser pen which is .36: in diameter. Now in contrast, the primary built-in fixed clip that is on the left edge of the BlackBelt case itself, well whatever its diameter is turns out to be PERFECT! The Renaisser pen pushes into this case clip perfectly and snugly and tightly. It is held 100% stationary and wonderfully. If only a clip with exactly the same diameter and tension had been used for the clip at the end of the tether I would be happy! Unfortunately, not the case. So I'm not really happy, at least regarding the tether and its clip which is larger than the primary clip on the case. So the case is great, the primary fixed case clip is great, and the tether and its larger clip is totally worthless... at least for my Renaisser pen. I wish Kensington sole a separate tether with a tighter smaller-diameter clip (to match that of the primary fixed clip on the case) but they don't. So I've removed the tether and tossed it away. The Renaisser pen simply fits into the primary clip until I remove it to use it, and then put it back. No tether in use, although I really would have liked to have it. Aside from that, the BlackBelt case is terrific. Highly recommended. The glove-like belt on its back side is a wonderful design, allowing you to hold the table securely from the rear with your entire open hand, while using your other hand to tap on the screen or use the pen. It's as stable as you could possibly want, with one hand inserted through the strap on the back like a glove.

Wow! Now THAT is a Fit
I have had my Surface GO for a few years, its my right hand for work/home and play - 24/7. I have tried a few cases along the way, but this is by far - hands down - the best and well thought out! This case is awesome. Perfect fit, is slimline but snug and very secure and also has a holder for my pen etc. If you have a keyboard, that fit is great too and there is actually a flip tab to hold that in place. The hand strap on the back ... stuck like glue, snug and secure. Two things of note ... the pen holder is on the left side, I would switch that, or lengthen the cord, only because it is great where it is for vertical writing, but not so much for horizontal writing. Second is the charging port (and I 'get' why the pen holder is on the left side) I got a warning the other morning that I was out of power, even though I charge it every night. The way the protection sides are set up, you need to be very aware that your power cable actually 'lights up' when you plug it in. Neither of those are deal breakers, just something that you need to take notice of. If I ever need another one ... I know what brand I am going to buy

360 degree protection
This case was my favorite of the few that were available at the time which was soon after the Surface Go's release. It keeps the kickstand available instead of replacing it, which was a huge plus, and it had a handstrap and slot of the surface pen which makes it perfect for my line of work. The design of the case, having raised edges on both front and back, makes it so even if it's dropped, it's unlikely that any part of the actual surface will hit the ground. The raised edges does mean that the keyboard won't stick magnetically to the screen. The solution provided by the case is a plastic strap that straps over the top corner to keep the keyboard secured. I'd definitely recommend this for anyone using this in a work environment, or even anyone who just wants to keep it safe

READ REVIEW FOR RECOMMENDATIONS AFTER 2 others
Arrived damage frame hard plastic. Returned but would have returned anyway as the frame is more of a hard plastic and not soft rubber light material. Third time was a charm however in that I ordered two of the below for my Microsoft surface pro seven and it is fantastic light rubberized easy to hold would highly recommend MoKo Microsoft Surface Pro 7 / Pro 6 / Pro 5 / Pro 2017 / Pro 4 / Pro LTE Case, All-in-One Protective Rugged Cover Case w/Pen Holder and Hand Strap, Compatible with Type Cover Keyboard - Black

Terrible Hand Strap Placement
I use my Surface Pro 8 daily for my job. I fill out reports in homes and take 100 or more photos with the surface daily to add to these reports. I purchased this cover primarily for two reasons and it failed at both of them. 1. Hand strap. I wanted to be able to hold the surface in one hand while writing or typing with the other. The hand strap is at the top of the case, just under the camera. There is no way to hold the surface in front of you in landscape mode with the position of the strap. It is slightly more comfortable in portrait mode. Further, because the strap is right under the camera, you fingers cover the rear facing camera when holding it. That means no picture taking with the strap in use. No problem, take your hand out of the strap for photo time you say. Well, now you have a dirty camera lens. 2. Pen holder. I've had 4 versions of the surface over the years and one of the best features of the older versions were that the pen could magnetically attach to the side of the device. The new slim pen does not mount to the side of the surface. Instead it sits in the keyboard. The new design is a more secure pen location but it is a pain in the you know where when you need to go from pen to no pen 100 times per day. I saw that the pen mounts to the top of this case so I was excited to get my pen back to easy access. Unfortunately the pen holder only works with old pen, not the new slim line pen. In addition, the one that I was shipped did have a pen holder. Just a string. Am I supposed to tie a string to a round pen? The photo shows some type of sleeve or holder but mine didn't come with that. In addition to these poor design choices, the shoulder strap is connected to the case with the thinnest string you have ever seen. It doesn't inspire confidence in securing a $3k computer and the keyboard cover is terrible. The keyboard will fall open constantly and will not store on the case if folded back to use in tablet mode. If you only use your surface sitting at a Starbucks counter and don't switch constantly between pen and keyboard than this case may work for you. If, like me you are using the camera, pen and keyboard regularly and want to use the hand strap look elsewhere for a design that has the hand strap on the center of the device, not the top. I'll be returning this one.

Its OK in some regards
I bought this because it had a shoulder strap and a pen holder, I use my surface pro 8 outdoors regularly in my job. But sadly the pen holder lets this case down, it doesn't support the slim pen 2, which is what many will use on the Surface pro 8. And for the price I think the case could have been a bit more rugged. I'm going to return it, and shop around for something similar, but a case that holds the slim pen 2, because I don't want to lose the pen, they retail at over ยฃ100.

Almost Perfect
Very simple to install and fits without issue over a glass screen protector. All edges are covered well and I feel like it gives a sufficient level of protection within reason. I wouldn't put it up there with an OtterBox or LifeProof phone case but you can be assured it'll take some bumps without issue. The reason I got this case was because it allows for full mobility if the built in surface stand which it does. Only flaw I see from it is the piece of silicone that holds the keyboard down. It's only on the top right corner and I can tell that over time it'll either break or loosen enough that it won't do it's job as well anymore. I think a strap of similar nature that could go across the top of the keyboard when closed would be best and a type you could easily replace if it did break.

Pathetic quality did not last even 6 months
The product is poor quality and broke from the corner with in 6 months. This is the second pieces we bought. We were told that for the first one there was a batch defect issue but next one will be fine. But no difference. The 2nd piece also broke with in 6 months. Would not recommend this to anyone.
