BLACK+DECKER Over the Range Microwave Oven, 1.9 Cu.Ft,1000W, 400 CFM

My microwave by a different company that was about 2 yrs old went out. It had started malfunctioning from the start.I had to replace quickly and found this Black and Decker for a good price. I was relying heavily on the brand because I have several of their products I’m happy with.Packed safely, arrived in good shape. I plugged it in and immediately started cooking. Child safety easily disarmed. Booklet instructions, which I love, is easy to follow. I don’t want to go online and search if I have a problem with appliances.I’m thinking I found a gem with this 900 watt, smaller size microwave. It was easy for this 70 plus senior to lift and set up. And, most importantly, working to my satisfaction. I’m sticking with Black and Decker.

I absolutely LOVE this microwave! It is the perfect size. I was afraid it would be too small, but I was surprised that it was so spacious, allowing plenty of room for my large plates and bowls. It heats thoroughly, quickly and quietly. I almost thought something was wrong because it was so quiet, lol. Now let me address one very important point that almost deterred me from purchasing it. I read the reviews regarding the lock/safety features and the many negative responses. They include clear instructions on how to TURN OFF the safety feature. It's a ONE TIME code that you enter and after that, you never have to worry about the door locking again!

I read several of my go-=to review sites and this one came up as one of the best on each and every one. As I said, it's at a reasonable price, too. I'm not a frequent microwave user. I use it to heat my leftover coffee, to bake sweet potatoes, and to heat milk for lattes. But I had surgery upcoming so needed something so my caregivers could reheat meals I had stocked in the freezer. This one met the criteria and that was that.The one thing I don't really like is the noise that EVERY microwave delivers when you open and shut the door. It's part of the design so the no harmful waves escape and I get that. But at 5:00 am and to hear that slamming door ugh it simply irritates me. There was a "QUIET" microwave cited on many of the review sites and it was a bit more money. AS I said, I only really needed it to reheat meals so I didn't;t care. But now I wish I had spent the extra whatever dollars to have one that just wasn't as loud. I'm sure it's still noisy for none of these can be silent, but oh well. That's my burden. You can choose your only.:) Anyway--it's perfectly fine, adjustable power levels, I think I made popcorn in it once. All things it's supposed to do and it does them really well. It's easy to keep clean and the profile is a bit shorter than most so it fits nicely under my overhang shelves. It has super storage area on top very even with no contours or decorative design distractions, so it has given me as much counter space back as it took away and that's a big plus in a small kitchen where I think this model was truly intended to shine.

It’s a nice microwave. Easy to use. Functional. Smaller size. Color is good. We got this as a back up microwave when our main ones break, until we get another big one. Usually you have to wait a few days when you order stuff. And that’s not an option to wait. So we got this one. We ended up using it several times for breakfast, lunch and dinner to heat up food and water. So I feel we got our money’s worth already. It works! But we just want bigger microwaves in our house to use on a regular basis everyday. Something 1000 watts or more. We got 1200 watts this time and we’re trying a combination microwave/oven/air fryer. And it’s really good for us. Recommend!

It’s a really nice small compact microwave but keep in mind that it has a lock on it so when you first use it, you have to press the unlock button before you can open it. Unfortunately, I broke mine trying to get it open because I didn’t know that there was an automatic block when you put your food in the microwave all in all it’s still a good microwave but reading is fundamental lol but I wish it was in the description.

This microwave is easy to use, heats food quickly, and has a sleek design that looks great on the countertop. The controls are simple, the size is perfect for everyday meals, and it works exactly as expected. It’s reliable, quiet, and offers great value for the price. I’m very happy with this purchase and would definitely recommend it.

Purchased 11/14/25 and on 2/7/26, not even 3 months later, it overheated itself and died 30 seconds into a mundane task of heating a frozen burrito. Became a complete brick afterwards—it must’ve fried something internally.This was bad enough, but the customer service in trying to rectify this has been a nightmare.1) contacted Amazon first. As the item was just passed its return window, I needed to contact black and decker by emailing Spectrum brands.2) Cool. I emailed the link provided.3) A week later, they reply asking me to follow a link to an online form where I am to provide details about the malfunctions product. I fill it out, noting the specific model # wasn’t a selection in the drop down menu on that form.4) A few days later, they reply that specific model isn’t one they cover and I need to call Black and Decker directly via the phone number provided.5) I call the number and navigate the phone tree to get to the appropriate division (customer service for kitchen appliances).6) The person I spoke to took my information and ultimately informed me that this is not a product they, Spectrum Services, cover, and that I need to call Black and Decker directly.7) Me: …you mean THIS number I’m already calling? I received an email from Spectrum Services that said exactly what you did—call the company directly—and gave me this number.8) Them: “You were told to call Black and Devker directly and they gave you this number?!” “Yes.” “I’m sorry, it shouldn’t have. You need to go to the Black and Decker website…” me: “No.” Okay, a bit curt, but I was beyond over this.9) I tried calling the provided number again and this time chose a different phone tree option that got me to a live person. They were finally able help with my case. (Midia support is their name, BTW). They emailed me instructions that included requests for photos of receipt/proof of purchase (including model #, date, total sale, photo of serial number) and a video demonstrating it doesn’t work.I just finished sending all that info over to them, so we shall see. I was told initially that after I sent them the info, they would review it (takes a few weeks) and if approved, will send me a check in another month or two.A long drawn out—and flawed—process that pretty clearly seems focused on getting the customer to give up and cease trying to recover their money. Keep this in mind when buying a cheap appliance on Amazon, even when it’s a name brand. I recommend buying in person at Best Buy or similar if at all possible. Caveat emptor.

So far so good. Install is straight forward. My only complaint is the over stove bulb isn’t very bright

Good quality and works well. Good medium size microwave. The design is nice and the features are very easy to use.

Got it at very good discount. I bought it as a gift for my sister when she moved to her new home. Lovely product. Good price for the brand.

Great size for smaller spaces. Works perfect, heats fast and is so much quieter then our previous microwave. You can barely hear it when it’s running.

I got this microwave in june2021 and today just 10 min ago jan 11th 2022 it blew. It sparked and caused a fireball. The metal panel on the right side Inside blew up and popped.
