Great Sight, fits my Sky Watcher and is easy to use
I have a Sky Watcher Newtonian telescope so was a bit hesitant to get this for it. The sight is actually really good! It was easy to install the battery and the housing for the foot was a little fiddly but not too bad to figure out. Once attached to the telescope, the sight was really simple to attach and calibrate. The sight gives a nice wide field of view with a bullseye in the middle. The bullseye can be dimmed or brightened as required and the dials for setting during calibration are simple to operate. This would probably suit most telescopes, as there are several footings of different shapes and sizes.

Accurate & easy to use
This is the best Star Pointer I've used, bigger, brighter & much easier to lock onto a celestial target. So good I've got them on 2 of my scopes. An ideal compliment to the traditional Finderscopes which I use in conjunction on a 3 way adapter mount.

Perfect assistance
Delivery as estimated from Netherlands Great red concentric circle finder. Great addition if having difficulty getting stars in telescope.

Poor quality and useless for its intended purpose
For a celestron product this is of poor quality. It's flimsy but that aside it should still be usable. The reticule consists of 2 circles, the inner takes up 0.5 degrees of sky so the sand as the full moon, the outer circle is 2 degrees. The brightness is adjustable but at its lowest setting its far too bright. The only star that was easily visible through this with the reticule illuminated was sirius which is as bright as stars get. The screen is also coated which blocks a lot of the starlight getting through so combined with the bright reticule it very hard work. The on off switch is poorly positioned beneath the sight and any movement of this flexes the plastic construction and it then requires adjustment. Adjustments were poor but when you can't See the stars they become impossible. Avoid this at all costs

Does the job it's meant to do, for not a lot of money.
Much easier to use than the supplied finder with my Celestron PS1000. Simple to attach and set up with the multiple fixings supplied with the finder scope. Accurate enough to get you into whatever your looking for. I bought this to assist in viewing the Great Conjunction in December and it didn't let me down. Does the job for not a lot of money.

For finding large objects only. Overpriced.
When I purchased this starpointer I was expecting it to be far superior to the basic red-dot model which came by default with my telescope. It didn't take me long to realise, however, that this model is actually mediocre at best. It will function as a starpointer; just not very well. There are two red aiming circles projected on to the window of the pointer; an outer ring and and inner ring. The problem is twofold. First, the inner ring is quite large, so if you're lining-up a small object, such as a star, you have to try and judge whether it's in the exact centre or not. By far the worst problem, however, is that the circles actually move around if you change your viewing angle. The star which was perfectly aligned in the middle, will no longer be in the middle if you move your head left, right, up or down. This makes it extremely frustrating when trying to aim at small objects because you're forced to hold your head perfectly still when looking through the finder, otherwise the aiming circles will shift around and change position. This starpointer is only useful for aligning to large objects, such as nebulae or the Moon. It's far too difficult to align to smaller objects and sometimes feels like guesswork. I've now repaired the original red-dot pointer and have started using it again. Unlike the 51635, the aiming dot remains directly over the target, regardless of any changes to your viewing angle. Celestron usually make great products, but this starpointer isn't one of them. 2.5 stars.

Better than just a red dot.
This is a good bit of kit, much better than a single red dot, a big screen and two red circles to to frame your target in.

Efficace !

A high quality red dot scope
This is one of the better red dot finder scopes. It is specifically for Celestron, but can be used for other brands too

The crosshairs wont align to center
There are adjustment knobs to move the crosshairs left/right and up/down. But if you look through the center of the unit, even when turning the up/down adjustment knob all the way, the target crosshairs stay below your line of vision. You cant adjust it enough to get them anywhere near center.

great addition to our telescope
Here's a review for the Celestron Star Pointer: The Celestron Star Pointer is an essential tool for stargazing enthusiasts! This finderscope makes aligning my telescope with celestial objects incredibly easy. The red dot is crisp and adjustable, allowing for precise alignment even in low light conditions. I love how lightweight and easy it is to mount and calibrate on my telescope. The build quality feels reliable, and it holds its settings well, even after transporting my telescope. Whether you’re a beginner or a seasoned stargazer, this star pointer is a must-have for seamless night sky navigation. It’s a small addition that makes a big difference in the stargazing experience!
