BaByliss Wide Plate Sleek Control Straightener

I read the reviews and took a punt (I was convinced people had been paid to give 5* reviews). I have just used my new BaByliss straighteners for the first time with excellent results, lovely shiny, smooth hair. I think it took me less time with these, they are definitely just as good as GHDs. I'm not going to say better because I think they do the same job in the same way (iron your hair flat), however at just over £20 it's a no brainer. Really really pleased. I also wasn't sure how I'd get on with a wider plate but am happy to say they glide beautifully, I can easily get to the roots and shape my hair how I want to. I can't fault them in any way.

I bought these since my last straighteners stopped working, which I loved and thought it would be hard to find any as good that didn't cist the earth. That was until these babies arrived! Honestly for the price I wasn't exiecting them to be that great, but the reviews were good so I thought I'd try atleast... I can honestly say they are the best straighteners I've ever tried! My hair is so thick and frizzy once washed and dried and its hard to find much to tame the mane, but these are amazing. They take a while to heat up compared to others, but trust me you won't care. In one go my hair went from frizzy to polka straight! It didn't take long to do all of my hair either and it stayed straight all day even after being outside and back home in the warm,which fir me NEVER happens. All I can say is try them, you really won't be disappointed.

Early days but impressed. I've short thick hair and wanted wider plates, needed new straighteners as my ghd's weren't giving me the desired effect. I couldn't afford a new pair, and I'm sure they don't last as well as they use to! After seeing the reviews for these I thought I'd try them. Due to different heat settings I was able to get super straight hair, I do use a heat protector spray. The reason I gave 4 stars and not 5 is because they do get really hot on the outside of the plates so just be careful, I think this has been mentioned in another review. However they do straighten well and for the price they are very good and I would recommend trying them, they also heat up quickly.

I like this brand, i still have this i think it has been 4 years or 5 , i still have it same quality.

I bought these as i noticed my original ghds weren't heating as well as they used to. After a lot of research on different straighteners recommended for thick frizzy hair, these appeared to be the best ones and i was shocked at how cheap they were. They are easy to use, not too hot to touch when the temperature is raised and the option to change temp control is a definite winner for my unruly thick bushy afro like hair. Don't waste your money on the expensive brands when these do the job just as well if not better (with added shine.)

I was extremely dubious as I have very thick, frizzy, coarse, unruly & curly hair (it looks like Hagrid after it's been blow-dried) & I have only ever used wide plate GHD's. These died earlier this week & I couldn't afford to replace them so took a chance on these straighteners. Haur simply glides though, so much less effort than GHD's & the result is so much better; hair has movement & shine. Also a lot quicker than GHD's due to the longer plate meaning you can do wider sections of the hair in one pass. Thoroughly recommend & would not go back to GHD's even if they were free.

Nice straighteners for the price however they can get quite sticky and stained quite easily . They do also let off quite a bad burnt smell that stays on your hair for awhile if you don’t like to use a lot of hair product. I know it is a hair straightener, but I’ve used others in the past that don’t give off the same sort of smell.
