Hario VD-01R 1-Piece Plastic Coffee Dripper, Red

I have been slowly making the transition toward drip filtered coffee and this was the final piece of the puzzle. It's an amazing and in-expensive piece of kit that makes around 1 cup of coffee (sometimes two if you know what you're doing) and is super easy to clean and take care of. I suspect my next purchase will be a size 2 if I need more coffee.

First purchase from Amazon but this is the best way to drink filtered coffee in my opinion. Good quality and works great, l wish hario also made a glass version too.

Well-made, sturdy and attractive coffee dripper, also includes measuring scoop. The instructions are adorably Japanese, combining technology, art, magic and ceremony. You have to fold the filter in a certain way ('mountain fold', anyone?), and then the instructions explain how you swirl the hot water onto the coffee in stages, and how the cone shape and ridges on the inside of the dripper make better coffee, for science reasons. Tried it for the first time this morning with the Hario filter. I think my coffee grind was too coarse as the water dripped through too quickly, making the coffee under-extracted and therefore bitter. Will persevere with different grinds as other reviewers have suggested. I really want this to work as it is a really nice item. Update to my review: I have been using it with a finer grind of coffee (Illy espresso) and I just use the smallest level of the scoop wtih quite a lot of water (I tend to fill the dripper twice to get a longer, less strong coffee) and it's perfect. Very convenient, fast and makes really nice coffee.

Funky little item, great for a single cup of coffee

This is an excellent method of preparing coffee for home. All that you need is decent quality paper filters, great quality coffee and water. If you train yourself kn how to prepare a proper pour-over hot (or cold) coffee, you will be able to get consistent great cups of coffee, depending only on the quality of ground beans used. It is a low cost and trouble-free method of preparation, especially in comparison to having a dedicated espresso machine at home. This size of dripper is better suited for a single cup of coffee. Works pretty well

This makes a lovely flavoured coffee but only in very small quantities. With a large portion of coffee and a paper filter in the cone, mine simply refused to drip.

Goed merk, snel geleverd!

This filter is indestructible. Much better heat retention than ceramic/glass options. Aesthetically, it is nice. It doesn't wear easily but it does stain after a few months on the inside.
