Tim Holtz stamp platform, amazing! If your hands are failing this will help you keep crafting, easier than stamp blocks
This Tonic Studio, Tim Holtz stamping platform is fantastic. I have limited dexterity and had given up stamping as so many stamps are larger these days and trying to find stamp blocks that are not very heavy and difficult to span when you have small hands that don't grip well. Those silly thin stamp blocks are to skinny to hold. But this is perfect! The idea is that you can use the clear face of the platform to position your stamps, that is reversable so you can use it with clear stamps as well as those that are on cling foam backings. LOVE IT!! Who is is for? . If you love stamping but your hands don't work, get this board . If you like batch making the same design, get this. You can leave the stamps in place n just re-ink and put new cardstock in to make multiples. Great for Christmas cards or wedding/part invites etc . Great for working out card designs/layouts before you ink your stamp . Great for younger kids, no more wobbly edges when the stamp block moved Could also be good for those who's sight its failing. With asistance for layout, the person can then ink and stamp and just swap card stock and know each card would come out ok. What stamps does it work on .Clear stamps, like the ones free on magazines .Rubber stamps on cling foam backings If you have existing stamps on wooden blocks, you can buy foam mount and if you let your rubber stamp sit in a bowl of cold water for a while the glue softens so you can take them off the rubber and remount them on just a new cling foam backing, then you can use them with this. Why this one, not another brand? I like this one over other brands as the platform opens totally flat. Those shaped areas at the bottom edge give you plenty to get hold of, when your hands aren't too good and the same is said whichever side of the platform you use. Sturdy materials and simple to use Can accomodate plenty of card sizes, there are only two closed sides so longer card can pass under the edge on the open sides. I bought this in September 2017 so it is the newer verison. This has got a foam backing and feet on the back of the board but I did feel the platform would still move around. Easy fix: grab a sheet of thin funky foam to put underneath it. TOP tip: DOOOOO put your magnets in masking tape or I used parcel tape. Just wrap parcel tape around the magnet, leaving a tail, so you can pick them up. They are very strong and can be hard to move. Putting the tape on gives you something to get hold of. Also the magnets can be fragile, so if they do break on you, again the tape protects you from any broken pieces. Check out this board on You Tube there are lots of demos. Awesome product well worth it if you like stamping but your hands are letting you down, saves investing in LOADS of sizes of stamp blocks, much easier than trying to source and use the larger sizes of stamp blocks. Get it, its fab! I've been stamping since 2008 and like the heat tool, its going to be a favorite with me.

Stop wasting time & effort having to re-stamp images.
This stamping platform is excellent. It’s good value for money, super effective & I don’t why I didn’t buy it earlier. It’s so simple to change from clear to rubber stamps & can handle very large stamps without hassle.

Brilliant!
I used to be put off stamping due to the potential for a card-destroying mis-stamp at a key stage of the process. I would die-cut shapes for adding stamped sentiments, as they were easy to re-make, but that was about it. This stamping platform has changed all that! The magnets are powerful little blighters that hold down the cardstock firmly. They have neatly-rounded edges, so if you have to slide the magnet across the surface, there are no scratch marks left behind. Being able to position the stamp carefully on the card is a key selling point for me - you can now fine-tune the position before closing the stamping plate. The stamping plate makes contact with the back of the stamp when it is perfectly horizontal, so there is no sideways movement of the stamp at the crucial moment where the stamping plate meets and adheres to the stamp. The position of the stamp relative to the card is now fixed, so you can stamp, then re-ink and stamp again knowing that the stamp will always print in exactly the same position (as long as you don't move the card, but the magnets take good care of that!). This means that an incompletely-inked stamp is no longer the end of your card, and you can clean the stamp and re-ink it in a different colour while it is still attached to the stamping plate, meaning you don't have to cross-contaminate your ink pads in order to achieve images with two or more colours. No need to worry if working with a small stamp and a big ink pad, as the surface of the stamping plate never touches the card, unlike getting ink on the edges of a standard stamping block. Another great use is to be able to rotate the card to add the same stamp to the four corners - push the card into the corner of the frame, line the stamp up with the corner, then press the plate onto the stamp - it will always stamp at the same position in that corner, so stamp - rotate the card 90 degrees - stamp again and repeat. You can build up perfect, geometric patterns in this way. So many uses! Can't wait to really try it out.

Brilliant idea
I'm not really a stamper bur after ordering a similar product for my daughter I realised that this would be a great tool to allow me to add stamped greetings to my hand drawn watercolour cards. Sometimes a greeting is required in a particular font and this tool means I can stamp it in the correct place and perfectly as my stamping with an acrylic block is hit and miss - mostly miss. The rubber stamp side of the tool is great, clicks in and closes flush. However, the clear stamp side is more awkward to click into place and when the lid is closed it does not sit flat on the base plate like the other side does but stands slightly above the bottom plate so have to push down on it. The gap widens the further away from the hinges. I'm worried that I will warp the lid by constantly pressing it down as that is the side I will use the most. As the other side fits perfectly not sure if this is a design fault on all of them or just mine.Currently debating whether to exchange it. 1/1/2018 The problem of some stamps not stamping properly is vexing me. Some of my clear stamps are exceptionally thin but some of my others miss no matter how I try and rectify the situation. Tried card shims, 2mm foam and watched countless YouTube videos. Some people have mentioned possible warping but on reflection I think the problem is that the top plate is too rigid and there is no give in it. Most of the other platform lids are more flexible and therefore it is easier to give a bit more pressure in certain areas. I have some Ezmount on order for my few rubber stamps but and I'm also going to try adding it to my thinnest clear stamps. If that doesn't work then I'm going to return the platform and possibly get the Press to Impress which seems to have many good reviews and is the one I nearly ordered for myself. I discovered get one for someone as a gift and it was well received.

Favorite stamping tool
I have been looking for this stamping tool after borrowing from a friend. I wanted a larger sized tool that could do 12” x 12” paper. The price was lower than I expected. I have only used for a few days so far but have had great success with my stamping.

Easy to use craft stamping tool.
I am a beginner to card making and saw this stamping platform being demonstrated on TV and thought it would definitely help me to be more accurate when stamping onto card. It is very sturdily made and so easy to use, lid just pops off open hinges, one side is for rubber stamps, turn lid around and the other for clear stamps. Another plus is there are no grooves or ridges on the bottom plate which means you can use any size paper on the plate to stamp and it will lay flat. Lid is clear perspex material so you can see through to stamp, paper goes onto base plate held in place with the 2 magnets supplied, place the stamp itself onto paper and lower lid. Stamp will attach itself easily to lid, ink up and lower lid down and press over stamp to get a good printed image. An advantage of this plate is you can stamp the same image over and over again and it will always go onto the same spot, no double lines. The actual plate and lid feel very substantial and not at all flimsy, very easy to clean and use. Beginner I might be but I've had some excellent results using this stamping aid. Another plus was the price, which compared to the market is a bargain. I can definitely recommend this crafting tool for beginner or expert alike.

There are so many great things to say about this tool.
This is so handy. Initially I thought it was just for repeat stamping of the same thing on multiple cards - and of course you can do that - but it's actually really handy for regular stamping too, for lining up your stamps, being able to position it exactly where you want it on the card and see what it will look like before you stamp - the lid acts like an acrylic block and picks up the stamp. The base is magnetic and you get two little magnets to hold your card in place, so you can move it around anywhere on the platform and then hold it down with the magnets. You can also buy extra magnets if you feel you want more but I haven't needed to do that, it's just fine with two. You can use rubber stamps and clear stamps with this, all you have to do is lift up the lid to 90 degrees, lift it out, and turn the lid over to the right one. There are so many great things to say about this tool. Oh and now it has a gorgeous little bag if you need to store your platform away - this is extra and I haven't bought one (yet) but I have been admiring it from afar lol.

Excelente

Don’t hesitate to buy one!
Was hesitant to buy this stamp platform with so many on the market and each having their pros and cons. YouTube’s product reviews are essentially paid for when suppliers send their product to be demoed and reviews so totally biased. This Tim holtz stamp platform is solid. No wobbly parts. Works well with clear silicone as well as rubber stamps. Detailed image transferred with ease. No reinking required. Do yourselves the favour and buy one of these and stop wasting your hard earned money on cheap varieties that are clearly overpriced due to demand. Shipping of this item was quick. So sorry I did not buy this years ago.
