DEWALT 18v to 20v Adapter - Bare (DCA1820)

I've tried this on all my old dewalt stalk type battery tools. All tools work again with this adaptor now. The price is a bit excessive but if these tools keep working with this adaptor then it's well worth it. The adaptor came in proper plastic retail packaging with instructions so I have no doubt this is a genuine dewalt product

Works great with my old XRP Nicad drill. Feels like got more power too with Lithium Batts but could just be imagination playing tricks again. But definitely benefiting from longer run time especially with 5.0AH battery. No probs inserting into drill or disengaging. What I would say probably an obvious downside is size increase of tool with adapter fitted.

I had previously bought cheaper versions which come loose and don’t allow full discharge of the battery, this one yes more expensive but worth it as it works perfectly

This adaptor is perfect for my needs. It attaches solidly to my tools and works as expected. Main draw back is carriage. virtually doubles the price

It works perfectly with the old style dealt drills and the new batteries. Did purchase one from China which was rubbish. Save your money and get this one and still use all your old dewalt kit

Despite a number of negative reviews, I found the adapter easy to insert and remove. It is easier if you take the battery out of the adapter before either inserting or removing the adapter from the tool. I have tested the adapter on a number of my old 18V tools and it works perfectly. Don't forget to remove the battery from the adapter when it is not in use (either on or off a tool) as the adapter contains electronic circuitry which will eventually drain the battery. This is easily achieved if you remove the battery from the adapter before removing from the tool.

Fonctionne très bien m'a permis de remettre en circulation une scie sauteuse et une scie sabre marque Würth (oui il y a 20 ans c'était du dewalt déguisé en Würth). fonctionne également avec des anciennes machines dewalt. seul bémol, non compatible avec les nouvelles batteries Powerstack dewalt, les 2 ergots de chaque côté de l'adaptateur empêche l'engagement de ce type de batterie. après j'ai également acheté une copie chinoise à 20 euros, qui à l'air de fonctionner aussi, mais en tant qu'artisan, j'ai préféré prendre la marque Dewalt (certes 6 fois plus cher), en espérant avoir une garantie de qualité, j'espère que je ne me suis pas trompé, l'avenir me le dira. si ça peut aider certaines personne c'est compatible avec les anciennes machine qui ont les batteries réf.DW9095, DE9095 et certainement d'autres références que je ne connais pas. Excelente adaptador. Justo lo que buscaba ya que tenía herramientas que no utilizaba por las baterías anteriores y ya no cargaban. Con este adaptador hice revivir mis herramientas. Lo recomiendo

I was really bummed when DeWalt discontinued the 18v XRP line of cordless tools. I have 10 tools and it became impossible to find new batteries for them. I was happily surprised when this converter came out - it works great and allows me to use the 20v batteries which are readily available. Sometimes, it is a bit stick when you try to remove it from the tool and requires a good tug to get it off, but that is a minor issue.
