Battery powered finger pulse oximeter - does what it says on the tin...
I bought this after a CPR course leader recommended this (type) of product. He said whipping one of these out of your first aid kit bag would give a frightened heart attack patient immediate confidence in you! I live next door to a public defibrillator (so could get a call any day) and I already have a blood pressure monitor (for personal use) so I thought - why not? It was super-easy to set up with the (supplied) batteries. Obviously, I immediately tested it on my middle finger (been in hospital a few times so I knew the drill - and it was dead easy to use) and it gave me two figures: my blood oxygen level was 96 (anything above 95 is OK); can't remember my heart rate but it sounded normal... I can't comment on the accuracy (as - of course - I have not done any comparative testing) but I gave 4* for accuracy as it felt to me like it was giving good results. IMO, this is a good bit of kit to have in your bag if you are a first-aider - lightweight, not that expensive... Also very useful if you ever think you may need to report a patient's condition (e.g. a relative) to emergency services.

Excellent Oximeter
Handy little gadget - which provides an immediate reading of your pulse rate (top number, see photo) and oxygen saturation level (bottom number). If you or a family member are feeling under the weather it can offer you peace of mind if the numbers are ok, also if you need to phone Doctors or 111 they are grateful for the information. Make sure your hands are warm to the touch as the reading might not be accurate, also nail varnish and gel nails affect the reading. In summary, easy to use, reasonably priced, well made and an excellent tool to monitor your health.

Great oximeter, but watch the price
I bought this oximeter back in August after the first lockdown, but I did notice this fluctuated in price a lot. I managed to get it for £17 when it had settled down, but I saw it go up to something like £30 or so. I don't really approve of them taking advantage of these unfortunate times, but I guess that's the life of supply and demand. What's in the box: -Oximeter -x2 AAA batteries -Lanyard -Rubber coving -A case -Instructions It's really easy to use - press the white button, attach it to your finger and wait a few seconds. It will read your oxygen level (SpO2) and pulse rate clearly on the red display. Very rarely, but sometimes it can misread the levels, for example wearing nail varnish can affect this, so just try again. After 5 seconds of removing your finger, it automatically turns off, so you don't need to press or hold down the button when finished. It's really lightweight and can fit in your pocket, or around your neck with the lanyard. This oximeter is great to have in general, but good for anyone who may be paranoid/anxious about coronavirus symptoms (e.g. shortness of breath), or, if you are caring for someone. It does state that this is supplied to the NHS across the UK and I think it's a good piece of equipment to have in your medical box.

Good purchase
Very pleased with this oximeter. It is accurate not like my previous one that was out by approximately 3-4 in readings. This caused problems with health as I didn’t realise how low SATS were. This is much better and I can manage health better.

Takes all the guesswork out and makes caring for someone SOOO much easier. Brilliant value.
This is so simple and useful I am just sorry we didn't find it sooner. My mother suffers from chronic Asthma and C.O.P.D. We use oxygen daily and her oxygen sats are very volatile. So keeping us informed is this little gadget that I didn't know we could buy till recently. WOW. Simply a 'cant do without now we've got one' kind of tool. It's dial is easy to read and understand in BOLD red numbers. It constantly changes as the levels move up and down so you can get a running reading. We were blown away with the ease of use and quality. The device is made from a hard quality plastic with areas of soft grip rubber. It comes with a decent quality long lanyard to put around your knock, together with a small clip case AND a quality canvas and Velcro pouch. VERY good product which I highly recomend for anyone who suffers with breathing difficulties or for a relative who is caring for someone to help you keep an eye on their oxygen levels. It takes all the gues work out of the situation. I no longer need to convince mother to put her air back on, she knows within seconds if she needs it. Can't think how we coped without one and never knew you could buy them so really very chuffed with this little gem.

ANAPULSE 100 Pulse Oximeter
I am a first responder and I purchased two of these for our kits. For the price they are really good. On opening the box, it comes with a soft cover, an outer case, a lanyard and two batteries. The batteries and the lanyard are easily attached/fitted. To start the meter just press the white button on the to and attach it to the persons finger. It takes a few seconds to start up and show results. The display is nice a big so easily read and it shows the Sp02 levels and the pulse. We also have the ONYX pulse oximeter so I put these on side by side and the readings were the same. The ONYX retails at around £125 and does the exact same thing this one does which was only £20. In the photo you will see the displays of both the ANAPULSE 100 and the ONYX.
