I Made The Right Choice
I looked at many different juicers and read, I don't know how many, reviews. Like always, each of the juicers I checked out had "brilliant" and "one star" reviews. What one consumer liked an other didn't. In the end I put a stake in the ground and went for this one. It was very easy to assemble (and I'm not very technically minded), it has a very safe and stable stand due to the little suction feet, it is not as loud as I thought it would be and it was very easily and quickly cleaned and best of all the juice tasted great. All in all a great experience, great well made product from an established brand at a reasonable price. I would recommend it and would buy again.

Compact size, great juicer.
I have bought 3 of these over the years - 1 for myself and 2 for other people. It is a fantastic little juicer. I just broke it today after 4 years - I pushed a very big carrot inside and it broke the plastic Shute. I am considering buying another one right now. My only hesitation is that between us my husband and drink 2.5 litre of juice every day. This juicer can deal with that but it does need emptying at least once half way through - which only takes a few seconds. But the other issue for me is that the pulp is slightly wet (certainly not soggy) and I think a more expensive juicer might get me more juice for my money. I love how compact it is and how easy to clean. I will probably end up with this one again!

Good juicer and small enough for worktop
Bought these to try and get some extra fruit and veg inside me as suffer from stomach disorders which means i have to avoid skins and seeds. Took a little while to assemble. The video shows you to switch on before you put the fruit in, and no way would a whole small apple go in, i had to chop it into 4. When putting the fruit in you need to put the pusher stick in pretty quick afterwards, otherwise the fruit shoots back out all over the place as happened to me when i first used it. It is good at juicing, but i found there were still “bits” floating in the juice, so now i have to filter through a strainer. Fairly easy to clean - the metal part where all the pulp collects needed a stiff brush but otherwise easy. Good little machine for the price and small enough that doesnt take up a lot of room on worktop or in a cupboard.

Economy Juicer Perfect for a First Timer
Having a surplus of fruits and greenhouse produce I decided juicing was the way to go. Also, there would be the added benefit of healthy drinks for the family. I chose the Philips Viva Collection Compact Juicer based on its price and reviews of other users. By its name it is a compact unit that fits comfortably in the kitchen workspace. It has suction cups on its feet which makes it very stable in operation. All the parts (apart from the electrical parts housed in the base) are easily disassembled for cleaning and washing. The parts will go in the dishwasher for cleaning which is a boon. (See photos showing parts) In use the unit will quickly juice whatever fruit or veg is presented to it and will fill the 500ml jug provided in very little time. Of course you can place your own glass under the delivery spout if you desire. The pulp by product is collected in a special integral container which in my experience allows you to make at least a litre of liquid before requiring emptying. The pulp has a damp consistency depending on the raw material used but is easily emptied from its container and, in my case, the pulp is added to the compost heap. Operation is simplicity itself. There is only an on/off switch without any need to adjust for different materials. The opening in which the fruit/veg is inserted is fairly small (plums size) so it’s necessary to slice most materials first such as apples, pears etc. Oranges, lemons etc. will need peeling beforehand but not other items (according to your taste and preferences). There are a few things to consider when using the unit; a) the blade spins very quickly and will throw the material back through the feeding tube unless you use the pusher provided to prevent it (see photo) b) no matter how hard you try there will a little splashing on the work surface and maybe on a wall behind the unit. c) the pouring spout can be rotated upwards to reduce dripping while you empty the jug. However, if you continue juicing with the spout still turned up you will get very wet! d) don’t expect your juices to be clear liquids. In most cases you’ll get a thin ‘soup’ or a smoothie effect. You can, of course, filter out the fine sediment separately but then you are removing much of the goodness that you get from juicing. I daresay more sophisticate machines may provide better filtration for those who only want clearer liquids but that would come at a price. To date I have juiced pears, apples, tomatoes, oranges and cucumbers. Currently I am experimenting with added ingredients such as ginger, avocado, mint, lemon balm and brown sugar with varying degrees of success. There are plenty of free recipes online to try out and it’s very satisfactory finding a new favourite. As a first time (now hooked) juicer I do recommend this product.

Comparison of 3 budget juicers in one! Updated after 2 years use
Been juicing for a year now. I have compiled below brief concise comparison of 3 models I have used. I just hot this juicer and have used only once. 1/ I used the EASEHOLD juicer which lasted about 8 months of hard use. A decent product although a couple of design features were not so good and a couple of parts failed after prolonged use. One of the plastic components in the exit spout came out. You would have to glue it back in. And the final failure thing was that the holder for the cutter became worn so it wasn't level on rotation anymore. Therefore it was no longer useabele as it would grate the plastic enclosure and you dont want to be drinking that! On the plus side it juicing everything with ease with its powerful motor but it failed in longevity. 2/ Do not buy the HOMEGEEK juicer it failed after 2 weeks of use. The motor failed and started to smoke when juicing carrots. Waste of time! 3/ That meant I bought this phillips juicer. I am pleased with it overall. A little fussy to clean the blade holder is all i can say. Otherwise being a well known brand it is clear the component parts are of a better build quality. I am hoping this product has longevity. It juices fine. its not hard to assemble. You may read one or two reviews about the clips but its probably because they did not open them correctly. its easy. there is a little fiddle you do and the clips become extend to fit easily. And make sure you press down the blade until you feel a click. so my reccommendation is as it stands spend that extra £20 and get the philips. My friend has a similar ohilips juicer and she said its lasted her 3 years! Update - after 2 years use still works fine without any issue.

Great juicer for Power & Cleaning
I'll start with the good parts. Firstly, it's very easy to assemble & clean. It's the easiest I have found so far. It's also powerful & not any noisier than my previous one. I love that it's compact too. It juices very quickly. Now the niggles. It may be powerful, but it doesn't deal with skins & pith. Do not be fooled by the 'juices anything' videos that are out there, as like any juicer, pips & cores need removing. An average UK apple does not fit for instance & not should it be. There's no prep advice in the box or instructions. Thankfully, I have had a couple of juicers & know to do this, alongside turning it off after each product is juiced. It can also shoot fruit/juice out of the funnel as you put it in. It also doesn't come with the wide attachment for soft fruit. That is only available in Asia & can't be bought in the UK unless you spend the equivalent of the juicer again! The instructions that come with the unit are mostly pictures & gives the impression that the wide attachment should be in the box.

I've tried numerous juicers, and this Philips model is fantastic. It works excellently, is highly functional, and convenient to use. The large capacity is a major plus. Highly recommended!
