(What's The Story) Morning Glory?, the follow-up to debut album Definitely Maybe, is Oasis's biggest-selling album with 22 million copies sold worldwide. It was recorded between May and June 1995 in Rockfield Studios, Monmouthshire, with Owen Morris and Noel Gallagher producing. Released on October 2nd 1995 it spent 10 weeks at No.1, is the 5th biggest-selling album in UK chart history and became the band's breakthrough album in the US where it sold 4 million copies. The new edition has been remastered from the original tapes by Ian Cooper at London's Metropolis Studios, supervised by the album's producer Owen Morris. A small army of contributors including original members of the inner circle who were involved in studio and live recordings came together to hunt down unheard demos and live material. The team also unearthed a wealth of never-seen-before photos and vintage memorabilia which will be included in the new artwork. The LP is manufactured on heavyweight vinyl and contains a high quality MP3 (320kbps) download code including ALL the bonus content featured on the Special Edition CD (volumes 1, 2 and 3).NOTE:This is a heavy cut vinyl and the needle may a 2g weight add on for best sound. Review: Excellent choice - Bought this as a 40th birthday gift to my Oasis super fan son-in-law who collects vinyl. Beautifully packaged, a real show stopper item. A perfect gift. Review: A must have for any Oasis fan. - Nicely presented copy of this great album. Bought for my collection.

Anthemic, big sounding and a sign of the times
Following his band’s debut album Definitely Maybe, it seemed nearly impossible for the band to go any higher. They had just released the fastest selling debut in British music history, they were viewed as the greatest British rock group around. Oasis are a band that always do everything to extremes levels, in excess. Definitely Maybe had it all; the singles, Supersonic, Live Forever, Cigarettes and Alcohol, Slide Away but how could they possible follow that?! The only way to beat all of this was to create an bigger album, so much bigger, anthemic and that would blow the fans away. The effect of this album was like icarus, that the band flew so close to the sun they would just spontaneously combust. Created in a melting pot of inner battles the album What’s the Story (Morning Glory) to this day remains not just a near flawless classic rock record, it brutally anthemic, but also a marker for an era where guitar bands were on the front foot and driving cultural change. Some would argue not the dizzy heights of definitely maybe, but it’s like comparing your kids, they are all different and special in their own right.

The vinyl records are beautiful
For those that collect interesting coloured vinyl then the Amazon exclusive vinyl version of the 30th anniversary release of “What’s the Story” are way nicer than shown in the pre release photos. The bass colour is that pinkish colour but within this are intense wisps of all sorts of other colours. They are not splatter vinyl but they are very close to being so.
