So far, so good
Just received this so its untested on my camera so far (will update once tested). Gave 5 stars as I can not fault it so far. Seems well made and feels solid, rotation feels smooth although a stop at min/max would be nice but not a major issue. It screwed straight onto my Panasonic Lumix DMC-FZ200 and as a bonus the camera lens cap works with the filter. Going to give it test over the weekend and see how it performs in the field.

Well constructed and great value for money
I have been taking photographs since the mid 1970s and over the years have gone through my fair share of filters, square, round and even homemade. This K&F filter comes well packaged in a sturdy plastic box which a foam insert designed to securely hold the filter whilst being transported. The insert has recessed finger holes for very easy removal of the filter even with cold fingers. On picking up the filter the first thing you notice is how sturdy it is and how velvety smooth the movement when you twist the outer ring. I have purchased lower-priced filters before and sometimes been very disappointed in the mechanical construction but not this time as it is on a par with many more expensive filters in my collection. I purchased this to use on my Nikon lenses when shooting video. My normal choice of filter is the square system but at present for video use these screw-in ND faders are by far the best option for my money. One of the first acid tests for any filter is how well it attaches to the front of the lens and this one did not disappoint. Straight on, first time with no fuss or fumble. The filter rim sits proud on a Nikkor 24-70 f2.8 making the outer ring very easy to grip when adjusting the strength of the ND filter. This is a relatively slimline filter and as with other slimline filters I have used the lens cap does not feel very secure attached to the front but this is not an issue with this type of lens as I only have it attached whilst I’m actually using the camera. Whilst I have not had the chance yet to try the filter in all conditions my early conclusions are very positive. Physically using the filter is very pleasant because of the smoothness of operation and there are handy markings around the rim of the filter showing maximum and minimum positions. On a dull day like today, shooting with a Neutral picture style I found the images taken with the filter lacked just a little contrast compared to those with no filter. I doubt that it would be as noticeable on a bright, sunny day (when to be fair an ND fader is more likely to be needed) but in the event it was not a major issue as I simply tweaked the contrast up a notch or two and created a custom picture style which worked a treat. As soon as we do get a bright, sunny day I will test the filters again and if my assumption regarding contrast proves wrong I will post an update below. However, with a 1,500 mile wide storm due to batter the Uk over the weekend don’t hold your breath! I have other K&F products in my kit bag, including lens adapters, and would not hesitate to purchase this brand in the future. On my personal experience to date they are well constructed and represent very good value for money. This filter represents incredible value for money and the small niggle with reduced contrast in dull conditions does not give me a reason to reduce the star rating. Had I paid around the £100 mark for the filter then all other things being equal I would certainly be dropping one star but at this price point that is just being curmudgeonly. Please note that whilst I have reviewed the 77mm version here I have also purchased a 67mm version too for use with a Samyang 12mm lens on a Fuji X-T10.

Great, affordable variable ND.
I do like these. They're affordable and practical but the only downside is you're not able to use your lens hood with the filter for blocking out the glare from the sun so makes it quite difficult. I shoot video rather than photo on a Canon C100 & Canon 70D and bought 2 of these to fit across 3 different lenses. They're great to use on the 70D but I have struggled with colour correction and getting the highlights and shadows right within my image due to the glare. It's not necessarily the products fault as it does what it says it does. So I may have to use a flag to block out the glare on my next shoot. You do get a wash of brightness across your image and you lose detail in the background that's uncorrectable. However I'll stick with these and work out some tweaks on location to improve my end result. But this is a much better idea than not having anything on the lens.

No Colour Shift
Really great Vari ND for my 24-70mm, no discernible colour shift and very durable. Also reasonably priced for this type of quality. Had made a big difference from other Vari NDs that I've used previously, so very glad with this purchase.

Annoying x2
I have several filters by Hoya. I bought this for achieving slower shutter speeds to carry out ICM It's quite clever and seems to be well made However The case is garbage - a cheap plastic moulding with a difficult to open fiddly clip + most annoyingly, the thread changes on the outside of the filter so the standard lens cap no longer fits, so either take it off every shoot or go round with no lens cap!

Bare bones filter but good for the price
Seems to work well, with good clarity. Also, have thankfully not experienced the X some reviews seem to have come across, though that may be dependent on different sized filters, mine is a 49mm filter thread size for an EF 50mm. Although the product functions well, and I’m happy with the price, the downsides include my current lens cover working so I either have to purchase a new one or take the lens off every time between use, and also the lack of a lock on the ND filter which means you can keep twisting it without any mechanical feel to knowing what the minimum/maximum ND amount is which then also means more fiddling - this would have been a nice touch but I understand that might be a more premium feature. Overall, you’re getting what you pay for, it’s a low price and it functions well - you lose out on some features you’d get from more premium filters.

Buone prestazioni per un prezzo entry level. Consigliato, da avere con sé se si vogliono fare riprese video in manuale ed anche per effetti fotografici.

I ordered the 52mm filter because the 30mm f1.4 sigma lens for sony e-mount cameras has a 52mm thread but after lens arrived, I couldn't fit it on. But after-service support was pretty helpful in telling me this

The filter will help in removing reflections of water or shiny surfaces, plus the ability to help with the exposer times for various picture effects. Screws on the end of your lens like a UV filter and has an easy to turn the metal ring to adjust the amount of neutral density from a little to a lot, so can be left on the lens as protection. the product is well made and should provide years of service.
