Canon E-58II Lens Cap for 58mm Thread

A monkey stole my first lens cap to my 70d. In all seriousness. In the Kerala jungle in India whilst photographing the beauty of nature, a pack of mischevious monkeys stole both my lunch and my lens cap. No amount of convincing let them to give it back. Luckily the replacement cap from Amazon came quickly and at a reasonable price too. It's solid Canon quality and blends seamlessly with my new camera. Hope the monkeys enjoy their new toy!

Like anything Canon does that has their name on they're not a bargain. No security strap if that's important.But these centre pinch caps are so much easier to use when you've got a lens cap on. Never had a genuine Canon lens cap fail but cheaper versions are available. Some cheaper versions come with stick on security cords, a mixed blessing? They can come unstuck and you won't notice until it's too late AND the can even blow up into your lens during strong winds

I replace the old style caps on my lenses with these newer ones, as they're much easier to take on and off if the lens cap is on. Great, and good value as this is the official Canon part.

I bought this lens cap to replace a third party cap that kept falling off and ending up in the bottom of my camera bag. The cap is well made, fits perfectly and is yet to come loose. It does not come with one of those little straps to attach it to the lens, but for me this is fine as I would rather that the cap was safely in my pocket than dangling around.If you are looking for a cap for a 58mm canon lens, I would say it is worth paying a couple of pounds extra for the quality and reassurance that this one provides.

Excellent original Canon lens cap. This looks great, is easy to fit and remove from my lens and is a perfect replacement for the original which I lost recently.

I have several Canon lenses and some of the older ones have a different cap where the release is on the very edge on the cover, these are the newer style covers which are some of my newer lens and they are much easier to remove as the release is in the center and much easier to grap in a rush!

Lost my lens cap and initially I was gutted I couldn't find the exact same replacement but this version is so much better with squeezing it in the middle instead of - in the fiddly way - on the edges. Very happy.An update: the lens cap mysteriously transferred into an old one when on the job and left unattended around professional photographers. No one couldn't find my new cap and I finished with the old one. :( Meaning: so good that everyone prefers it. Look after yours!

I lost my original lens cap on the beach on Saturday morning and so needed a new one quickly. Considering this is a genuine Canon item I couldn't believe how cheap it was. It arrived on Sunday within 24 hours of the order, delivered to an Amazon locker so I didn't have to wait in for it. Looks good quality. Fits well on my 70-300mm + UV filter. Excellent service.
