TechMatte Charging Adapter Compatible with Apple Pencil 1st Generation, Female to Female Charger Connector

I'm very pleased with my purchase. I recently acquired a Gen 1 Apple Pencil and soon very much enjoyed using it. My second hand bargain pencil did not come with a charging adapter. Then, one day, disaster. The pencil would not work. After some research I learned that the pencil needs to be charged frequently. After a recharge it was up and running again.Clearly regular charging by regularly plugging your Gen 1 pencil into the side of your iPad is not at all convenient. I ordered the Techmatte charging adapter. Now everything is rosy again. I can charge the pencil easily on a regular lightning cable. In fact, as I write this the pencil is happily charging and my iPad is unencumbered.Two things to note:- the stretchy silicone strap is brilliant, holding the adapter on your lightning cable so it is always there when you need it. I couldn't work out how to attach it but a moment spent referring back to the Amazon product listing photos showed me how to attach it.- when I went to plug in cable and pencil I found the fit wasn't quite right. Well, it is right. It's perfect. I now know the adapter is uni directional. There is a small dot on the adapter. The pencil goes into this end. Once I learned to plug it in the correct way around I found the connection was snug. You can hang the pencil from the adapter and cable and it stays put. The fit is just right.All-in-all a simple device that works perfectly and adds a lot of convenience to charging your pencil. Ideally I'd have one in every room but for now I have just the one.

Happy with the quality of the product and it works well. Secondary item in the box which I assume is some kind of rubber device to attach it to the cable so it doesn’t get lost, however, no instructions supplied nor is it mentioned on the box, so who knows?

This is a tiny little thing just 2cm x 1 cm, but if you don't want to stick your apple pencil in the end of your ipad pro, its a very good option, as you just stick one end on the connector end of your normal charging lead and the pencil in the other side of the adapter, which means you can carry on working on the ipad even if you've let the pencil charge run down. Expensive for such a small item, but it works, and if you've spent £100 on an apple pencil, the cost is probably less inportant than the practicality and flexibility this adapter offers.I've scored it 4 stars, simply because it seems expensive, not because there is anything wrong with it per se. Do remember however that there is a right and wrong end into which to insert the pencil.

Does the job perfectly. Allows charging of pencil independently of the iPad. Avoids having it dangling precariously out of the bottom of the iPad.Competitive price, appropriately packaged and prompt delivery - all good.

I ordered this as a replacement for a lost charger, it did work as I tended.It is very solid and doesn't look lime it can break easily. It did fit the pen well without issue. I didn't find the weight to be an issue. The stability isn't an issue when connected and appears to be versatile. I didn't notice a reduction in battery life of the pen when charging the pen using this. As an added bonus it has a strap to fasten it to the main charge to help you avoid losing it.

Great charger. Comes with a sleeve to attach it to the lightening cable when not it use. The charger enables me to fully charge the pencil over night and removes the need to take power from my iPad or the risk of it being knocked while charging in the iPad . Works really well.

I upgraded my iPad from a 4th generation to 10, and already had a Gen 1 pencil. It does say in the description "Charging adapter", but my assumption was that it was just "the adapter". In fact, it will *only* charge the pencil, it will not allow you to pair an iPad to an older pencil. Unfortunately, the adapter that will allow that looks identical in pictures - it's a bit bigger, but looks the same in a scaled photo. To pair the Gen 1 pencil with a new iPad you require a female-female, lightning on one end, USB-C on the other. This adapter has lightning on both ends, basically allowing you to use a normal lightning charging cable to also charge the pencil, instead of charging from the device.

If you've lost the original adapter that came with your Apple Pencil, this is definitely worth a look as a replacement.It has a nice and secure 'click'-type feeling and charges the Pencil separately to the iPad. Love it.
