Collects the first year of BOOM! Studios' hit Mighty Morphin Power Rangers comic book series. Longtime fans of the smash-hit show Mighty Morphin Power Rangers , and newcomers to this ensemble driven series, will discover a deeply compelling world packed with highflying adventure and tremendous heart. Welcome to Angel Grove. Home to the Power Rangers and weekly monster attacks. Tommy Oliver was the new kid in town when evil doer, Rita Repulsa, swooped in and made him the Green Ranger. Now, free from her mind control, Tommy struggles to find balance between the plights of high school, making new friends, and the dangers that come with being a hero. Writer Kyle Higgins ( C.O.W.L., Nightwing ) and artist Hendry Prasetya ( Voodoo vs. Green Lantern ) explore the untold story in the life of the Green Ranger as he struggles to overcome his demons and learns to trust again. Review: A Must-Have for Ranger Fans - After a couple of years, I finally managed to get a hold of Power Rangers: Year One. While it has essentially gone out of print since it’s first run, the book is soon to be reprinted this month for Local Comic Book Store Day, so I figure a review would still be relevant. Presentation This edition contains the first issues 0-12 of Boom Studios’ main Power Rangers series, as well as all the associated backup comics and one short story exclusive to this book, in a hefty hardcover edition. The book is printed on high quality paper stock, and the colors are incredibly vivid and eye-catching. My copy did feature a couple of minor defects during the printing process but considering how small they were and how common the problem is among graphic novels, it is barely worth mentioning. Story This series was touted as a modern retelling of the original Mighty Morphin Power Rangers series, and it very much succeeds in that regard. While the original show is campy 90s fun with a fair bit of excellent story-telling here and there, this new story brings a new depth to the original Ranger lineup and expands the world of the Rangers in a big way. Without spoiling much, this series quickly diverges from the original series in an intriguing way, and sets the foundation for some fascinating storytelling in the future. My only gripe with this book is that it does not include the companion Go Go Power Rangers series, which explores the Rangers before Tommy shows up, though I can understand how it would confuse the otherwise linear storytelling of MMPR. Overall, this is an excellent first outing for the series, and a fantastic presentation of what is sure to be a beloved interpretation of our favorite spandex superhero kid’s show. Review: More mighty Morphin - Okay, I started reading the power ranger comics with Go-Go power rangers, and now realize that these stories have a multiverse complex. Might Morphin PR is not the same story. Going forward, I realize that I'm going to have to Google the best way to consume this content and probably settle on the easiest, which is just the deluxe editions. Still love everything I read. I was just not expecting different timelines, different stories that all converge into one I'm assuming.

Fans Old and New Will Find Plenty to Love Here!
"Mighty Morphin Power Rangers Year One: Deluxe Edition" collects issues 0-12 of the Boom! Studios comics series written by Kyle Higgins with art by Hendry Prasetya, Thony Silas, and Jonathan Lam. Higgins sets the story just after Tommy Oliver left Rita Repulsa's influence and joined the Power Rangers, focusing on how such a change would affect the relationships of the original five Rangers as well as how Tommy would cope with still being the new kid in town. Each character is given a chance to shine in these stories, which update the setting to the modern day for the sake of convenience, but keep the character traits the same. Basically, they have cell phones and the internet, but still have the same interests and personalities. Those, like myself, who grew up watching the show will find this a wonderful update to our nostalgia. Hendry Prasetya's art is gorgeous and he perfectly captures the appearance of all the main characters and their zords. Furthermore, using the comics medium to create original stories and even explore alternate dystopian timelines adds something new and exciting to the Power Rangers mythos. Fans old and new will find plenty to love here. This deluxe hardcover edition reprints all of the issues and has an extensive gallery at the end with the various variant covers and early concepts for character designs.

Awesome presentation of the Mighty Morphin Power Rangers! Absolutely Recommended! Enjoy
This is an awesome presentation of the Mighty Morphin Power Rangers reminding me of my youthful days. I've been trying to obtain this book for a fair price ever since I missed the first printing. Luckily, I finally got it & it arrived in almost perfect condition. If you're a MMPR fan from the 90s you'll love this book from start to finish along with appreciating the design & colorful art of this masterpiece. Thanks for reading!

This is Morphinominal!
When I saw this for preorder, I knew I had to have it. I've been collecting the comics/variants for the majority of the year! When I get the comics, they go straight on my wall (see photo attached), so I've never had a chance to read them. Now, I've officially been afforded the chance to immerse myself in this epic retelling of the classic show. The book is huge, and as heavy as an encyclopaedia! I'm only a few pages in, but am already blown away! Well worth the money, and I'll be happy to have this join the other amazing books on my shelf. Get yours now, because if you didn't already know, It's Morphin' Time!

I’ve been looking for a decently priced copy of this and they delivered. Book came in good time and it was in great (new) condition. I’d definitely order from them again.

Great comic book
the comic itself is fantastic, one of the most enjoyable comics i have read in a while, the only problem was the physical condition it arrived in. one of the corners was a little damaged, almost as if it was dropped on that corner, and the pages were warped around the edges as if they suffered a little moisture damage. these aren't dealbreakers because the damaged corner is not significantly misshapen and the warped pages don't compromise the quality of the panels as the damage was only visible when the book was closed and the wavy shapes of the pages were visible. the warped pages problem was also easily fixed by placing the book under something heavy and just leaving it like that for a few days to flatten out the wavy shape. Overall, its a great book, just don't expect it to be in perfect condition as i doubt the less than stellar handling of my copy would be unique to me.
