A well made, solid and well designed lead! Effectiveness - The bungee system at the end really does help. Whilst a bit strange and off-putting at first, it's stopped my arm being torn off plenty of times and probably stopped my dogs neck snapping a few times too! ...Obviously I'm exaggerating, but it's actually a great implementation. Length - Brilliant. I cannot let my dog off the lead, so being able to give them the freedom to roam whilst still having control over them means a lot. This lead really helps with that. Colour - Nice and vibrant. The wife loves orange, so this is ideal. Weight - Not too bad... We oversized our lead as our dog is very stocky, so we pretty much went for double the weight limit, which means we ended up with the really big size. My wife has never complained and I never feel any strain from carry this thing around. Comfort - Great. The adjustable hand rest is a nice addition. Due to the bigger handle on the large size, being able to adjust it makes it a lot easier to hold and still have access to the release catch/lock. Bonus - If you're wondering what the black chord is that comes with the lead... If you loop it around the handle and into itself, you can use it as a wrist strap.... just incase you drop the lead.

The review is written after using the product for a month so as to really get a feel for it. I must say I am impressed. This is a sturdy well made leash. Not poor quality cheap junk. You get what you pay for here. The handle is comfortable even for a large paw like mine! There is no strain on the wrist when walking even when the dog is pulling which she sometimes does and for a large dog that has been uncomfortable with other leads. The tape style fabric lead retracts smoothly even with my 38 Kg dog. The brake and the snap lock work well without needing to strain your thumb. When the lead is really hard taut however occasionally the snap lock is stiff but a slight forward movement releases it easily. The length for me is just right for me and my dog, which can be controlled over its entire span. I have a well trained dog who returns to me on command and the retraction gearing brings in the leash as fast as she runs back preventing tangles and twists I have had from other leads. I do like the flexible shock absorbing end as well and the snap clip is sturdy which easy to clip on and off with a good size thumb snib. So; Ease of use and control 9/10 Comfort 10/10 Control and Safety 10/10 Product quality and manufacture 10/10 Price for what you get 10/10 I hope not to have to buy another leach again for a while, but if I do I will replace it again with this one. Enough said.

This Flexi Xtreme lead feels incredibly well-built and durable. I use it with my large Rotterman (Rottweiler-Doberman cross), and while he’s generally calm and well-behaved, he has tested its durability, and it’s reassuring to have a lead that clearly has the strength to handle a powerful dog if needed. The tape feels sturdy and secure, giving me full confidence during our walks. It has a weight to the handle that feels durable and well build, although not being so heavy to weigh your hand down over long walks The design is sleek, and the adjustable grip is a thoughtful feature — though in practice, I haven’t really needed to use it. Still, it’s nice to have the option. I would have liked to be able to pick a difrent colour apposed to bright orange. It is very visible but I'm not sure this is a necessity. One thing worth noting is that the accessories (like the poo bag holder) are extremely usefull however — they’re extras you have to purchase separately. That makes the overall setup more expensive. If they were included, I’d say the price point would feel a lot more justifiable and competitive. All in all, it’s a solid, high-quality lead that feels like it will last — I just wish it offered better value with a few of those useful extras included.

I have a very lively 20 odd KG one year old bundle of trouble and this lead allows her to chase her ball and run around with me knowing that she is safe and close by. I went for the large size as I need to be confident that it has enough strength to withstand the odd jolt. It has an elastic part at the dog end of the lead and this does help to cushion any impact from sudden stops. Very pleased with this lead as it is strong and well made.

I've had this for about a year now and can attest to it's quality and durability. The length is perfect for my dog, a collie, who loves to explore and is not patient enough for my slow behind. The locking system works well, retracts with no issues at all. I once used it at the beach and got so much sand inside I thought it would stop working. Took a while to go back to normal but once all the sand got out it was perfect again. Highly recommended. we have a cheaper one for our other dog who is slow but I can tell the difference. This one weighs a bit more which gives you more certainty when pulling if your dog is one of those. And it has that chew resistant end which is great. the handle is super comfortable and ergonomic, compared to the other one, this you can use for an hour and it doesn't cause any strain to your wrist.

Previously had a Flexi Giant 8m Medium lead, which was beginning to fray from being wrapped around trees and bushes while Toby plays at sniffing out pheasant. The brake mechanism on it also felt a bit iffy from fairly early on, so I didn't want a direct replacement. Decided on this model which is even more of an overkill weight capacity wise, but it was the best price option at the time of ordering and only a few pounds more than the Giant Medium. I feel the quality and sturdiness of the Flexi Extreme is far superior and I am very impressed with it in day to day use. Yes, it is a bit heavier and larger but my wife hasn't complained about that (yet), so it can't be too much of a deal-breaker. I go for an oversize lead because Flexi seem to design their lead housings based on the dog weight, which means the smaller capacity leads tend to have ridiculously small handles etc, which can be difficult to grip properly. Overall I'm very pleased with this and will probably replace with the same when the time comes.

I'm not normally a fan of retractable leads, however, we have a rescue Jack Russell cross, who's recall is not up to scratch yet, so I got this for when we are in the fields to give him more freedom whilst still being attached to me. Although our dog is only approx 6kg in weight, we bought the medium as I thought the small wouldn't offer the strength and durability that this one has to offer, and I'm happy with that decision. I am so pleasantly surprised by this lead, it is brilliant. The handle fits well in the hand, the bungee works well, it's super sturdy, the lock is simple to use and is effective, and I trust it out on our walk - which I didn't think I would. The bright orange colour of the lead itself is great, as you can see it easily, and so far (we've had the lead for around 3 weeks and use it daily) no tangles or jams with the mechanism. The actual handle has a slot for a poo bag/treat container which we have and is brilliant. I've also managed to attach our poo holder disc and treat pouch on the handle so it carries most of the things we need on a walk without being clumsy in the hand. All in all a good buy. I'd definitely buy this lead again when our current one eventually needs replacing.

This is a good leash. Sturdier than the cable one that broke only after a couple months. The ribbon is strong and retracts smooth and straight.
