12 Pack 6 Inch LED Recessed Light with Night Light, 5CCT, 1100LM

SUMMARY: Really cool light, that doubles for higher ambience. Wholeheartedly recommend. PROS: Good light output and color in primary mode. Really nice color and output in secondary "ring light" mode. Both light modes work on a dimmer, so you can go from full bright in primary mode to super dim and warm in secondary, or anywhere in-between. CONS: None really. You do have to take your time between switching the modes, but not a lot. DETAILS: Got these used, but the idea seemed cool. Boy am I glad I did. These things are AWESOME! The first function is the primary down-light, which is plenty bright and is dimmable. Switch off then on again, you get the much warmer light just around the ring of the light that is more indirect (and dimmable). We've had fun playing with the different settings, and no matter if it's early morning, late night, or mid-day we can always find the right combination of light output and light color. (FYI, the ring light is really only good for use when it's dark outside). I'm in love with the ring light specifically, as it makes my living room look like a fancy movie theater. It also works really well as a night-light when dimmed, as it can be turned down to a 'just enough to see where you're going' brightness and not wake you up in the middle of the night.

Beyond impressed by the quality of these lights for the price. I installed with dimmers and the work amazing! My favorite thing about these is the lighting allows you to switch from the regular lighting to the dim mode where it’s that very nice moody lighting. The color looks great, it’s amazing to see what a different it makes by switching out builder grade lighting for higher quality lighting. Take this as your sign to make the purchase!

Bought these for a kitchen ceiling update, took down a grid type ceiling which had the awful late 1980s fluorescent lights. Replaced with these for a fantastic modern upscale look, love the choices of light color (chose yellow for warm light color in an area without much natural sunlight). Put a dimmer switch in as well. The nightlight feature is GREAT! Much better price than the big box stores, have 6 extra to keep for replacement needs in years to come. Easy installation as well. Very very happy!

Absolutely love these. You can select the light temperature with a selector switch. The amber ring makes for a nice moody glow at night. One hint on the amber ring. Run the dimmer to full voltage before cycling power. At first I thought I had some bad units as they amber ring would not come on, it would just go back to the main led output. Pushed the slider to full output and then cycled and they all worked as advertised.

easy install, high quality pack. I enjoyed the look these give off with the ambient light. I remodeled my basement and it was easy to install these in the drywall. they came with everything i needed to install and really brightened the place up . If I had to do it again these are the ones. Super happy with the purchase and Highly recommend. I installed them in a drop down ceiling.. If you want to change the color of the lights these are flip the switch off and on to change the color and again to go to ambient light. They fit well and were easy to wire.

These lights are nice and have decent color range for what it offers. Love that you can change the light temperature setting on these. Makes it easier to match the room these go into. Light is nice and has a good cone distribution of light that works well with having a few of these to fill a space. Night light is nice. To me seems a bit bright for a night light function but can do the job. Ended up just using one of these paired with some lights without the night light function strategically placed where a night light would be beneficial. I tried these in my office and it seems bright but is nice to have in which the room has a glow to it. I don't have a dimmer function yet so I won't be able to test that out but considering the brightness I think it would help round these out a bit more. I like the function of the night light as you have to turn the switch off and back on again (with something like 2-3 seconds between switching) to switch between the normal light and night light functionality. It'd be nice if the night light function had a color variance too. If it'd be RGB selection or RGBIC control, it would add more mood setting options. Installation was fairly quick and the supplied electrical connectors can be viewed as a plus and a negative. Plus because they are easy to install and fit to wiring. Negative because this is the more lazy way to do electrical work than having a proper wire nut which will more securely connect the wires. With the supplied connection they should be fine but and it should stay put but if there is strain on the line the connection can come undone exposing the wire which could be a concern depending if it's the electrified side. The other thing is that there was no provided hole cover. You have to punch out one of the holes to provide access to connect the lines. By punching through the prefabs hole, the edges are a bit sharp. Again not too much trouble but concern with cutting one self and or the wiring if there is any movement or strain on the wire can be an issue. The seal is a little flimsy as some that were packed did bunch up and were not flush with the light when installed. It doesn't act as much of a gasket if you have more textured ceilings. So if you're worried about moisture getting by the light you'll need a fairly flat surface for when you mount you light in the ceiling. Overall the build quality seems there. Will see if these will continue to function down the line and will update this review at a later time if something does happen. But overall pretty pleased with these lights as it accentuates the rooms that we put them in nicely.

My neighbor’s bathroom was a bit too dim for his liking. It needed some serious upgrading for shaving, and he asked me for recommendations. I had previously installed several of these canless fixtures for a relative and was very impressed. Neighbor bought a two-pack, and we installed them in an afternoon. The pluses: (1) Amazingly easy to install. Cut a 6" diameter hole in the ceiling with a hole saw. Attach the romex to the J-box provided (you will need to get a romex connector for each unit). Set the color temperature, plug the fixture cord into the J-box cord, and stick the whole thing into the ceiling. It doesn’t matter if your ceiling hole straddles a joist, because the fixture is no thicker than the ½" drywall ceiling. It’s really a remarkable piece of engineering. (2) Flexible. You have a choice of five color temperature settings from very warm (2700 degrees) to cold (5000 degrees). I know that seems backwards; just trust me. There is a small switch on the J-box to make that change. Literally takes one second. If installing multiple units in one room, you probably want them all set the same. In addition, this particular model features a night light mode. Turn the down light on, then off, then back on within about 4 seconds or so. The down light will not illuminate but will be replaced by a soft orange glow around the perimeter of the fixture. Perfect for mood lighting or TV watching. (3) Very light weight. Will not stress, deflect or damage the sheet rock, even though the entire fixture is supported by the drywall. (4) Cost. I won’t mention an amount because that may change from time to time; besides you can find it in the product description above. The total cost for a six-pack of these lights is WAY less than that for a more traditional single living room ceiling fixture. WAY LESS. The minuses: Uhhhhh . . . may I get back with you on that? Haven’t found any so far. As a matter of fact, the aforesaid neighbor liked them so much that he purchased a six-pack to install in his living room, augmented by a dimmer and three-way switches. Ease of installation, cost and appearance are all first class. I’ll probably be installing a lot more of these.
