Simba Sentinel Surf Helmet (Large, White - No Side Logo)

I bought this helmet on recommendation from a friend. I liked that it was so light and did not have huge amount of padding inside. My friend's helmet is too small for me to try. My head size is 59 so I figured that going with size Large / L-XL 58 - 62 cm would give me enough space inside to wear a neoprene hood during winter. To my surprise and disappointment this helmet is too narrow to even wear it without the supplied pads attached and any hood at all. I could not bear having it on even for a few minutes at home. I really wanted it to work and give it 5 stars but I returned it instead. See the picture for details - the arrows point to the areas where the helmet should be wider. I don't think my head shape is so different than of an average person. I have no comments on this helmet quality and durability but it looks solid and a good value for the money.

Purchased for my son to replace another brand surf helmet he has had and used for many years when surfing at certain surf breaks around the world. Although we could have replaced the inserts of his old one, I decided to invest in a new Simba helmet and I’m glad I did. He says it’s much lighter, more comfortable and isn’t as cumbersome on his head when duck diving under the waves. I also like the added protection that the design of this helmet offers with the side piece. The helmet is a small investment to make to ensure the safety of your surfer. Having witnessed friends suffer serious injuries on the shallow reefs that they were fortunate to recover from, this more comfortable Simba helmet he doesn’t mind wearing, could truly be his life saver.
