I put this in a standard Zippo case and yes, it is very tight. But, after reading the other reviews I had expected it. A previous reviewer had pointed out 6 plastic nubs on the side of the insert that could be smoothed out for a better fit. So I took my jackknife and whittled them down until I could slide it in and out more easily. Then I took a drop of oil and wiped it around the sides of the insert to help also. Filled it with butane, had to bleed off the pressure when it was half full and then it filled completely. It holds a lot of butane and it is really nice to be able to see exactly how much you have left. It works perfectly, looks great and is well made. I should probably give it 4 stars because you shouldn't have to modify an item to make it work properly. I really don't know why they put those 6 plastic nubs on the tank but now that I've got it to fit, it really is excellent. 5 stars.

It fits but thats about it. It worked for a week and wont start anymore. Is full of fuel, and just clicks. Pretty disappointed. Didn't last as long as I'd have liked.

I always had a problem with my silicone water smoking device. This insert was a little tight but thumb and index finger put it right in place. I now get a great hit every time. So far sparks every first time. I bought the Zippo model and it broke with in days. This is quality in my opinion and definitely recommend. I'll never buy or need another Bic.

Four and a half stars, really. Whether this butane lighter insert fits perfectly will depend on your Zippo case. I have three Zippos. The first was a gift for my father in 1962 and is inscribed as such. The insert was slightly too big for a good fit and was far too tight to go jamming it in all the way. That’s OK, being so old it probably deserves to be filled with lighter fluid. The second is about ten years old, and while the insert was easily seated and removed, the case lid would not quite close all the way. The third is maybe two years old. This one was a perfect fit and the butane insert easily goes in and comes out of the case (with some resistance), and the lid closes fully. To get it to make that satisfying “click” when opening, I applied a drop of mineral oil to the cam rivet and wiped away any excess oil. With regards to the butane lighter itself: There were no bumps (one image in the listing points out three) that needed filing down or a Dremel to remove material for a good fit. Well, there is one small bump on the tank below the ignition button. You could take a file to that if you needed to, or if your fit is mighty tight. I would suggest a thin coating of mineral oil on the tank to make extraction from the case easier. The fact that the tank is clear, heavy plastic is a big plus. Hard to damage, easy to see how full it is. When the ignition button is pushed with an audible click, you can easily see a visible piezoelectric spark. No battery is needed. As for filling, it’s easy-peazy. Depending of the brand of butane, you may have to choose the right nozzle; some cans include as many as five. Adjusting the flame is also easy, but you’ll need a very small flathead driver, like a jeweler’s screwdriver. All that being said, I’m very happy with the product and believe it’s a great value. If you have more than one Zippo, there’s a good chance it will fit one of them, even if it is a bit of a crapshoot. Good luck!

Work okay. Filling takes a moment. The fit and finish needs work. I used these with custom shells from temu. It does have closure issues because of how tight the gap it has with the lid arm and grill. On the shells I ordered I bend the arm hook inward to tighten the play and it helped. Not sure on zippo shells how well this can help with. Either that that it fits okay.

I smoke Cigars and use these on almost all of them. Although there are only 2 jets, they work almost 100% of the time. I have had other lighters that do not light - or not all of the jets light - without having to click the button or tab or whatever you all it to light the lighter. So, 2 jets that alwyas work are better than 4 or 5 that sometimes light. These inserts are easy to fill up. Because they are clear it is easy to see when there is enough fuel in it. They do fit nicely in my Zippo - although on a couple of them, the lid is not all the way shut - maybe 1/16 in open but that has never caused me any issues. I absolutely love the fact that the jets are angled so that they come to a point instead of having 2 separate jets that just shoot upward. For me, this makes it easier to control where the fire will light my cigars and also make the 2 jets seem stronger. I would 100% recomed these inserts to anyone who uses zippo type lighters for any reason and want a reliable easy to use and refill lighter - and with the zippo cases variety of designs this should suit almost anyone!!!

I got this butane lighter insert for my boyfriend as a birthday present to go into his vintage classic chrome playboy Zippo lighter. He uses it all the time. The only time I don't see him using it is if he forgot it or misplaced it. Like others have said, the only down side is having to remove the tank from said Zippo to refill it, is a pain in the hiney. Pro tip: add a tiny bit of dry lube or slightly file down side of tank so it isn't such a tight fit.
