Kair Inline Extractor Fan Ø100mm with Timer | Bathroom and Kitchen Extract

First up, my bathroom has never had an extractor fan and desperately needed one. I'd been running a dehumidifier after every shower. I wanted an extractor to run on a timer facility, so went about taking a permanent live feed from the pull cord to a new isolator in the airing cupboard. Switched live was taken from the light to the isolator. The screws on the Kair extractor fan cover to expose the wiring terminals were very small but with the right screwdriver a doddle to undo. Wiring was straightforward and much easier than core drilling the gable end in a tight space. What I really liked was the ability to leave the fan body wired up in the loft space but bringing the fan chassis stand assembly of it down to the landing. This gave me improved workspace and where I screwed the chassis onto a board. I also connected the 1m flexible insulated ducting and then reassembled the fan back into the chassis in the loft. The board was then screwed down into position but sitting on some rubber grommets I had from a previous job. I set the fan timer a couple of times. First setting ended up running for 20 minutes after lights out. 2nd attempt had it at 12 minutes. Bit of trial and error getting it to the time you want it to run for. Thankfully, just a quick job to adjust. Extraction from the 100mm fan is very good. The fan itself isn't noisy but the suction sound is. It'll easily hold a piece of paper to the ceiling at the inlet duct, so plenty powerful. With the bathroom door closed and from other bedrooms, I can barely hear it. It's doing exactly what I wished for and I haven't now needed the dehumidifier. This item in my opinion was a fantastic price and I'm happy with the quality and performance from it.

Used to replace a defunct shower extractor fan. Easy to install and much quieter than the original fan. In fact I was so impressed I bought two more and changed all the shower extractor fans. I would definitely recommend.

Unit works as expected, good amount of flow with the max speed (2 settings apparently, not tried the other). Wiring diagram useless tbh. Asked for clearer instruction and was invited to call an engineer instead. Quick google and found a YouTube video - easiest way to see how to connect. Fitting easy once wiring sorted. Operation is reasonably quiet (wall mounted to keep off the ceiling helps). Overall pleased with the product.

This is a very good bit of kit for the money. It took a long time to work out the wiring as the instructions aren't great, but its fairly silent when tucked away in the loft and the ease of fitting with its clips and brackets is just great. I had assumed that it runs at a slow speed all the time like my other one, but it needs switching for that, but the key thing was a decent overrun, and up to 30mins is idea.

Replaced broken fan...works well nice and quiet. Arrived quickly and well packaged

Really silent and powerful! Easy to install.

Easy to fit as it was a replacement so all the ducting was already in place So far so good but waiting for winter when shower temperature goes up and so does the condensation!!

For the money this is a good buy. Installed in 30 mins and the noise level is very low. Only criticism is it could do with a small ridge where the hoses fit to help keep them fitted ( it also doesn’t come with and ties to secure the ducts to the hoses). I set the timer to half way between max and min and it runs on for 12 minutes.

Very neat, 2 speeds with a run-on timer. Buy a reel of bungee cord and suspend it to avoid vibrations through the joists. Buy acoustic ducting for the inlet and it runs practically silent. Use aluminium adhesive duct foil / tape for a good seal.

The fan is much louder than expected and the build quality feels extremely cheap. The plastic is thin and bends easily. The stickers were applied crooked and looked like they had just been printed on a home printer. I have bought a FanGoFast installed in my second bathroom and it is much quieter and made from far better materials — the only thing it doesn’t have is a timer. If not for the timer function on this one, I would have returned it immediately. I don’t expect it to last long. Not recommended.
