Now my mother-in-law can hear when we call on the telephone
Even though we had the ringer on my 90-year-old mother-in-law's princess phone set to its loudest, often she didn't hear the ringer when we called. This affordably priced Gino DM-13D Loud Sound RJ11 Telephone Ring Ringer Amplifier has solved that problem. This thing is LOUD! And the tone is piercing. When I tested it in our home, my wife, who doesn't have the greatest hearing either, asked if there was any way to turn it down because it was so attention getting. I told her "no, and that's the point," though I do suppose one could probably tone it down a bit by taping over some of the holes...Installation is simple. Connect a phone cord (you need to provide one yourself as one isn't provided with the unit) from the telephone jack on the wall into the end of the unit with one jack. Plug the phone cord from the telephone into one of the two jacks on the other end of the unit - it doesn't matter which. That's it. Easy peasy - no batteries to install, no switches to set, nothing else to do but to look forward to your loved one actually hearing the phone ring the next time you call.

Loud and cheap but you'll need another cord!
If your phone already has a cord to connect it to the wall, you'll have to get another for this device.|Wall jack|--cord--|amplifier|--cord--|phone|I love that it's good and loud so my mom can hear it even without her hearing aids in, and it doesn't need batteries. And so inexpensive. Great deal.

Holy S**T that's loud.
I bought this for my grandfather who is practically deaf and never wears his hearing aid. He can never hear the phone ring because the TV volume is set on "blow the speakers out", so we got this hoping it would help. When it came in the mail, I hooked it up at my parents house to test it out. It's super simple to install and I called our landline from my cell. Instantly I thought we were under an air assault, the cat bolted to the other room, and my dad clutched his chest. It's loud. My dad said it's similar to the old ringers they would use on the shop floors to carry over the noise. It's perfect for my grandad, or anyone else hard of hearing, and once you realize how loud it is, it's not as much of a shock to the system. It's very affordable and a great investment for anyone who has issues hearing a phone ring.

Loud RJ11 Phone Ringer - Good little unit at a very nice price!
My wife and I have been spending lots of time in our basement recently setting up a lounge / TV / Grandkid's playroom as well as doing quite a bit of work in our woodwork shop that takes up most of the other side of the basement. One issue we have had for sometime is that we couldn't hear the phone upstairs when in the basement - especially when using power tools in our shop. We do have an old rotary phone in the shop but the ringer hasn't worked in years.Living on a tight budget, we needed to find a "Cheap" but effective way of hearing the phone ring downstairs and this unit fit the bill nicely. Not having an available phone jack to plug into, I just wired a new standalone jack connecting it to the line on the wall mounted phone and hooked the ringer up to that. so if anyone is curious, the ringer does not need to be hooked up directly to any phone but just to a line in jack and the jack port on top of the ringer.I can't speak to other reviews other than this little unit works quite well, is loud enough for my workshop and was a great deal price wise. I would gladly buy a second unit if I needed one. Sure it would have been nice to have a volume control, but this is a minor point and the inclusion of a cord for connecting the unit would be somewhat of a waste as each person would have to decide the best location for their ringer which could be 6 inches away from a phone jack or 16 feet away.Just for informational purposes, there are 3 phone jacks on this unit - the one on top for a phone line in which is the only jack I used in my hookup of the ringer. If you then connect the unit directly to a phone, you would use one of the bottom jacks but to use the ringer, this is not needed for the unit to work.My only minor complaint about the unit was the poor 1 hole mount on the back of the ringer. A screw mounted the unit on the back, but didn't feel like a solid connection, so after I made sure the unit was working, I epoxied the unit directly to my workshop wall. ( Hope I don't end up having to remove it in the near future) Have a great day folks!

Ringer is definitely loud enough
Purchased one of these and loved it so much, got another one. We work in construction and no one can ever hear the phone rind. We put this on the outside phone and it was actually so loud when the equipment is not running that we put tape over some of the holes. Without these, we were missing calls. Definitely a great device for loud environments.I would think that one of these devices downstairs would be easily heard upstairs. For someone who is extremely hard of hearing, like my grandparents, I'd just put this on the phone and cover as many holes as needed to soften the ringer.

It works, hate the high pitched ring
Definitely louder and more high pitched than a normal phone ring, which was not desirable for me. I had to lock it in a jar to muffle it enough to be tolerable. But it was cheap and is technically doing its job at least. Also, you need to have an additional phone cord to use it, just so you know you'll need that ready and it's not included.
