For about 20 years I've tried various solutions to sealing the skimmer for the winter. Until this product, I've always had some leakage. I've had this through two winters (well, about 2 months to go) and it seals perfectly. It's a little snug to install, but I use Magic Lube or similar product which helps with installation as well as sealing. Much easier than removing skimmer face plate screws as was needed for prior versions that I used, which were never 100% effective, as this one is. Would absolutely buy again.

I had to trim it on one side about 1/4" to fit my skimmer, but I would rather have to trim from it than to have a small plug. It does a great job. No more need to drain the pool, and to add water for reopening the pool.

Worked mostly as expected but water does weep through slightly, be sure to remove your skimmer hoses & leave the hose port open so water will not accumulate & freeze.

Product fits in place but doesn’t stop the water from leaking in. Therefore, this piece is useless.

My pool maintenance guy recommended that I get a winter plug for the skimmer in the pool. I tried a few alternatives to learn that the secret is to be very precise on your measures. This one fit exactly into the skimmer opening. I needed to press it firmly and actually tapped very lightly with a rubber mallet, however it is tight as a sealed drum. This has a lot to do with the spongy foam-like material that recesses into the skimmer. Simple and quite effective. You can't go wrong but measure twice and get the exact fit.

It fits perfectly in to my skimmer, feels like a decent quality product but it doesn't fully seal. There is water getting past it. It should keep the ice from pushing in to the skimmer this winter but the water level will drain down to the bottom of the skimmer opening over time. It doesn't leak much, but it is not a water tight seal by any means. Better than nothing I guess.
