The 2 sides fit tightly together creating a tight bond.
They recommend using 4 sets of these to hold up to 20 lbs, I don't quite have that much weight but at least 14lbs, and they are holding strong.

I JUST PURCHASE A HOUSE DON'T WANT TO PUT ANY HOLES IN MY WALLS.... I AM THE COMMAND STRIP QUEEN I USED THEM TO PUT UP MY EXPENSIVE PAINTINGS I WAS A BIT CONCERNED AT FIRST THAT THEY WERE GOING TO FALL OFF THE WALL BUT IT'S BEEN OVER A MONTH AND NO ISSUES...

Heavy duty and surprised it actually worked.
I was skeptical to use command strips to hang my wall art around he house because I feel like drilling behind a stud offers more security and boy, was I wrong. These were so wonderful and offered a nicer mount more flushed to the wall than what a nail drill would do. I'm so happy I switched over to strips instead of continuing to damage my walls. These are safe, easy to use and most importantly, easy to remove without causing any wear and tear to your walls. I had to hang a heavy wooden framed artwork and added a few of these strips around each corner, more than the weight capacity of the frame for that extra assurance. I rather use more than less and I'm amazed by the strength of these strips. I thought they were just glorified stickers against a wall and now for someone that was originally a skeptic have now completely conformed with switching over to strips. I need to buy more!

Strong long-lasting hold
I love command adhesive strips, especially these velcro-like materials, allowing me to easily remove and attach items - I use this mostly for black-out curtains for daytime sleeping (night shift work).

Awesome
I love these things for pictures, clocks, decorative objects, and even home theater speakers. Just follow the directions and they hold perfectly., but take a shortcut and they'll fail. I've never yet had one fail to hold. Removal is easy, without residue or paint damage if you follow directions.

Didnt Work!!
I carefully selected these for two reasons. One, they were a brand name so I thought the quality would be GOOD and that the strips would do what they are supposed to do. Second, I had a heavy (8#) picture that I wanted to hang, and these strips were offered as XL/20#. I havent ever used these types of strips before so I was disappointed they came without instructions, so I had to watch a youtube video to figure out how to use them. I feel that the way these are advertised is misleading. You think your getting more strips, but in reality, you are getting less because you have to DOUBLE them together. So if you want to hang a small picture, you would assume you will use 1 strip on each corner when you will need 2 for each corner. After all that, I put the strips on my picture and it was loose on the wall. I took the pic down cuz I knew the strips weren't going to hold the pic and that it would fall off the wall & probably break. I peeled the strips off the pic & threw them out, making the purchase a total waste of money.
