This is an excellent book that is well written & presented
This is an excellent book that is well written and presented. As a plastic modeler I found the diagrams and plans excellent. If there is one draw back I would say that it didn't show any significant pictures or drawings of the vehicles and trailers used to transport these missiles. it's only a small thing and other than that it is an excellent book.

It 's information and subjects were closely related to what I was train in, as a Nike Hercules Missile Maintenance Crew and Security Custodian (16B20), when I was Drafted into the U.S. Army, back in 1971, during the Cold War era.

Wrong selection for what I was hoping for
Great for folks interested in launch issues but has little value, except for familiarity purposes, for someone who wanted to re-emerse in fire control or tracking/search radar. Done like a launcher operator training manual including quizes.

Great if I that's what you're after
Unfortunately this is simply a reprint of an army manual with a book cover on it. Great if I that's what you're after, but if you're looking for a detailed technical study or presentation of the Nike missile systems, keep looking. This ain't that.

Brings back good memories.
I worked on this missile while in the Army. Way back in the late 60`s early 70`s. Good times for being alive and being young.

A reprint of a Cold War's military textbook
A reprint of the original "MMS Subcourse Number 151" textbook. 94 pages with many b/w illustrations covering the Nike missile and launching area (the battery control area is not covered in this book). The book is subdivided into 6 lessons, each one with some final questions to assess the reader's comprehension.I've bought it because I'm going to visit a nearby museal site called "Base Tuono" where a Nike-Hercules launching area has been restored.
