Needs screwed down.
Works great. Easy to change sizes. But needs tied down. I screwed mine to a board.

Garbage
I bought this about 6 months ago, but things came up that kept me from starting the project that needed it. I got to work on the project today, 5 grommets later, the base cracked in half. Definitely can't recommend and potentially dangerous since you're applying force when it snaps. Note also that the grommet dies don't seem to fit anything but the junk grommets you see on Amazon. Quality grommets will not for correctly. Do yourself a favor, skip this press.I did however pull apart and save any bits that could be salvaged. Might use the press cylinder with a hammer to install other grommets.

Machine is good and sturdy. Punches-no.
Good machine for placing grommets, but the die-punches are useless. They are not sharp. Had to buy a separate set.

The tool to make the holes seem to be to big for the rigs so they tend to fall off
