Ideal Electrical 30-074J Wire-Nut Wire Connector (175 Jar), Yellow

These are your classic red wire nuts. Nothing fancy, just solid and easy to use while taking up less space in the box than the winged wire nuts. If you're concerned about being able to tighten them as much as you need to to meet code, there are tools that can help, such as screwdrivers with wire nut openings in the back end of the handle. I have a wire nut tightener with a 1/4" hex shaft intended to fit in a drill. I use it with a ratcheting palm driver, which saves me time and makes it super easy to crank these things down per the manufacturer's instructions. I'm glad that I can still get these from Amazon since the big box stores don't carry them any more and recently I haven't been able to find them at our local hardware store either. Sadly, it seems they're all going with the wing style.

Ideal products have always been quality products and I have been using them in electrical trade for about 60 years.

It's not. The product is the same 74B connector. The container looks big, but it's a mere 6.25" H X 4" D X 2.5" W weighing in 15.3 Oz. I have no problem with Ideal or its products. This just goes to show how expensive these connectors are for one to adjust the project quotes accordinlty. The container looks nice, though, and it's just large enough for all 175 connectors to fit. Once you get it, though, it does not look like those many connectros would occupy something rather small.

Best wire nuts made. I don't ever bother with cheaper alternatives. Others have round wire inserts that do not reliably grip the conductors, and present a real danger. Ideal wire nuts have a sharp wire insert inside that grips every time.
