New and updated for SAS Enterprise Guide 4.2! In this pragmatic, example-driven book, author Neil Constable demonstrates how you can use SAS code to enhance the capabilities of SAS Enterprise Guide. Designed to help you gain extra value from the products you already have, SAS Programming for Enterprise Guide Users contains tips and techniques that show you a variety of features that cannot be accessed directly through the task interfaces. In all cases, techniques are shown with examples that you can try and test, plus additional exercises are included to give you more practice. The end result is more efficient and resilient use of SAS Enterprise Guide in a wider variety of business areas. Included is a discussion of the following subject areas: the Output Delivery System advanced formatting macro variables and macros advanced reporting using PROC REPORT highlighting in reports hyperlinking between reports and graphs data manipulation using SQL data manipulation using the DATA step extended graphics By adding small amounts of code in key areas, SAS Enterprise Guide users can get more out of the product than the tasks reveal. Users should be familiar with the SAS Enterprise Guide user interface and tasks. No programming experience is necessary. Review: Excellent book. Very useful for anyone coding in SAS-EG - Excellent book. Very useful for anyone coding in SAS-EG, which is many of us (built-in tasks are very useful, but much of what needs to be done comes down to writing code - as always). Review: Reference Book - I have used this book as a reference book mostly. My day to day requires access to data via Enterprise Guide, this book has met the purposes for why I purchased it.

Good book but don't buy in Kindle.
Book seems very useful but Kindle is not. Many codes are shown in pictures and I cannot read them in Kindle, hence, I could not follow through.

A Must-Have for SAS Programmers
If you have never programmed in SAS (but are familiar with programming), or if you just need to brush-up on SAS programming syntax and logic, you need this book. It is well written, easy to follow, and has plenty of examples.

Beware professionals
A little too verbose for my taste, too much "click here", "select that". As an IT professional who needs to come to terms with EG programming (and just that) quickly under project pressure, in all chapters I missed short conceptual introductions of the points covered followed by representative, finished (don't tell me how to add lines first here and then there) examples of typical commented use cases. Instead, few simple uses cases are developed too slowly (do this in the wizard, add this line, run, see logs...). "Introduction to SQL" and IT history back to the punchcards are far, far out of scope in a book about EG programming. (One star falling) All screenshots and unfortunately the whole section of reference chapters, in which after chewing through the novel of chapters 1-9 I put my last expectations, come as badly pixelated graphics where text can hardly be recognized on Kindle for PC and Kindle Paperwhite. (Another star falling) Finally, 22 EUR for a kindle version are a whopper price under the above considerations. If I spend private bucks on IT books I expect a really notable time gain over standard help and online doc. (Third star coming down).
