I purchased this unit a while ago. It worked great then started giving me trouble. The return window had closed so I didn't attempt a return. I hastily wrote a negative review instead of contacting the seller first for a solution. After I wrote my review and gave them 1 star, the company reached out to me. They offered to replace the unit at no additional cost to me. They didn't have to do that. They care about customer satisfaction and stand by their products. I'm a professional photographer who is still on a budget. I have nice lighting for my in my studio but I really needed something for my on location sessions. As much as I wanted to I didn't have a crazy amount of money to spend. Then I came across this flash. As I do before I purchase anything online I read a bunch of the reviews and everyone is right, this is an amazing flash at an amazing price. It's not one of those "you get what you payed for situations". I believe that this flash is way better then what you paid for. Pair it with a soft box and you are set! An important thing with flashes with me is the recharge time. With often shooting small children I needed a flash that could match with a fast shutter speed and this one does the trick. Another worry of mine was that it would go through batteries crazy fast, but I was pleasantly surprised when it didn't. Haven't done a session without it since my purchase! Shipping was fast (I don't have prime with two day shipping) and the packaging was great! The over all quality of the flash is amazing as well. In my personal opinion it feels well made and not of cheap plastic. Another perk is it doesn't add too much excessive weight to your camera causing you to create camera shake. I would definitely reccomend this to both amateur and professional photographers.

I was looking for a simple, easy to control flash to take office portraits. This was cheap and worked perfectly. I wanted manual to have full control over the shoot and pressing buttons up and down and the led display was easy. It triggered fine on a hot shoe, a radio hotshoe, and optically. It had a good recycle time—it never didn’t fire—and it did a 4 hour photo shoot on one set of AA batteries without overheating. Remember it’s a dumb flash—no TTL auto or anything. You have to set the exposure manually on your camera to get it right. But for a studio type thing, or using this for a fill flash, it’s perfect.

Simple and straightforward to operate. All manual settings, nothing automatic. Capable of several burst-mode exposures in a row without waiting to recycle. Powerful enough to meet all my (non-professional) needs. The only problem I have found is that the battery compartment cover is very difficult to open and close. Requires too much force at exactly the right angle. If you have to do a quick battery change in the middle of a shoot, struggling with the battery cover could cause you to miss some shots.

I recently received the flash and am very pleased so far. (I'm mostly using it for macro photography using a sync cable and remote shutter release.) It is simple to use and I like the manual selection of output power. The flash head rotates up & down and left & right which makes it great for tabletop work. Recycle time is fast. My only negative is the battery compartment cover seems to be a little bit fragile and may be easily damaged when trying to close it after inserting batteries - so be careful with that. Hopefully the unit will pass the test of time.

It was a nice flash but it only lasted 6 months. It now turns on but won’t flash. Even with new batteries. UPDATE: the company contacted me personally to offer a refund and replacement. I will update again when it arrives but I’m impressed!

This was a great buy for our cameras. The flash fit most of our cameras The light that emitted from the flash works great on pictures. The flash also comes with a lot of settings for the light. Great build quality and feels great in the hand.

This flash is exactly what I needed. For the price I don't think it can be beat. It saved my bacon when I was shooting on a tripod against a bright daylight background out of an upper story window where I wanted to capture the background and also capture the details of my subject's face which was in shadow. I didn't want to lug around an expensive flash through TSA and on a dynamic trip. I used it with the CowboyStudio NPT-04 on a GX-85 setup and it worked like a charm! I almost didn't buy it before going on the trip but I would have regretted it. That shot was one of the most important of the trip and the locale was rather difficult and expensive to get to. It's for times like those that a photographer carries around a bag of stuff. The shot sometimes presents itself once and only once on a trip. I am glad this flash allowed me to be equipped to make the best of it.
