Scan tool is the BOMB!
WoW! what a tool! My Honda did not like it when my cousin and I started playing around with the door locks. The first thing that happened, the car went into alarm lock mode and only the dealer could fix the issue, $200, and what ever else they wanted. Thank God! , a youtube video shows this device unlocking any safety triggered by the cars computer. When the scanner came in it only took me 20 minutes to release the alarm lock and the car started right up! Made extra smart keys and so much more !

Surprising amount of features for the price!
I work as a professional auto technician and have been looking to replace an aging snap on scan tool but didn't want to spend 10k on a new one, so I found out about this and figured I couldn't really go wrong for the money. The best part is it's wireless. Already a step up from the Modis I was using. The screen is very bright and vivid. It is already compatible with FCA vehicles so I don't have to fuss with authorization. It's relatively quick as well, system scans don't take as long as my old scanner used to, the navigation is very intuitive. A super helpful part is when you pull codes, so long as you're connected to a network, you can actually navigate to Google and this thing will also play YouTube videos. Was super impressed there. I have been using it for a solid week, every day and have logged data streams, you can save vehicle scans and data, I wasn't expecting it to be this useful. Very VERY helpful tool at a fraction of the price the big names charge, with almost all of the same features. I think I'll be keeping this one!

Solid intelligence diagnosis scan tool
A good detailed diagnostics scan unit. I really appreciated when I started up the unit the battery was already charged. The Bluetooth diagnostics is the only way Iโll use a scan tool; was able to connect and walk away from my truck to diagnose. Great feature this scanner has is a โhealth checkโ; where it checks all the modules quickly to show you all the stored codes. Overall itโs a nice little unit. Works quickly, solid construction; has all the features for self service. Itโs my first ThinkCar purchase and Iโm a fan.

Don't buy this.
Just spent over an hour to get nowhere with the online "engineer" ... it's not an engineer, bc now I need to wait 2 days for an email "once an engineer reviews" my question. (That hour & 15 minutes was mostly waiting on a reply- which the replies were quite snarky) I wanted guides for a specific vehicle - which it said were available - but there is nowhere to access the info & the GM & Ford learning guides eventually take you to a screen that says "coming soon". So, don't waste your money on this, there are less expensive models that are bi-directional. You will wind up doing a google search for the guides anyway. My $12.00 OBD reader has all the same info. My $40.00 obd has more memory and can screenshot & screen record just like this one does. Ridiculous. They want me to do a full memory delete but can't send me the next steps to get the software etc re-installed. Sketchy as can be and 6 days passed the 1 year purchase date.

Provides much more information
This has worked very well to find the problems with my vehicles. It works great to get a baseline on all my vehicles as well. It provides much more information than just a basic code reader.

Good scanner for small repairs
A little confusing to use special functions but over all a good scanner for just reading codes and getting repair info

Good Value for DIYers
Rating would be 5 stars IF/WHEN Thinkcar scanners can again be registered with Autoauth for FCA vehicles. I'm a value-driven DIYer with late model RAM 1500 and Volvo XC60. The MAX 2 was the best I tried, especially considering cost of ownership. It took installing Security Gateway Module (SGM) cable extenders and a 12+8-pin SGM by-pass cable to be able to clear codes and perform resets/calibrations. I had reasonable access to the SGM to install the extension cable - some FCA vehicles require removing the touch screen to access the SGM - a non-starter for me. It's rather intuitive to use (manual isn't much help) and reasonably responsive. Yes, it relies heavily on an Internet connection to do many things, but I was able to perform the OBD Scan function without a connection. I found this to be the best value option for my vehicles, and it clearly supports many more brands. Tech support is pretty good also. UPDATE: I have successfully registered the device w/AutoAuth, diagnosed my RAM through the SGW module, and CLEARED DTCs! Hence, the change up to 5 stars.
