Good scale, reasonable cost, should last; but glass-like surface gets dirty easily
My plain, simple digital bathroom scale was over 20 years old. It did not have replaceable battery but the one it came with LASTED OVER 20 YEARS of moderate use by one person. When it finally gave out, against the warning on the back, I drool it apart and tried replacing the button battery with a new one (the same battery) but it didn’t bring the scale back to life. So I started searching for a new bathroom scale, which is way more difficult than I thought it would be! The brick-and-mortar stores around me had limited models and after checking their product reviews found all had a number of reviews saying they had quit working after a few months to a year. I even looked at a number of “best bathroom scales 2023” lists from general internet searches. Looking at the most frequently listed models on Amazon, thorough price/value evaluatiion (from reviews) led me to choose the Wyze Scale X, black version. It arrived in perfect condition and after reading the instructions, was easy to set up. I honestly did <not> want internet connectivity from a bathroom scale, but you don’t have to set up or use those functions for it to work correctly. It is sensitive to small changes (testing by weighing with/without clothes on) and though I have no other home bathroom scale to objectively compare values with, it does give me weight values that seem realistic and look correct AFAIK. It also will return a body fat composition score if you weigh in bare feet (as suggested) and stay on the scale after the initial weight is displayed, nbut I don’t care what the score is so I just get off once I get my weight. (I’m not a bodybuilder or health enthusiast to the point where a precise measurement of body fat means anything; who can’t already tell if they consider themself over-fat or not? I can. Lol) Size; large and heavy enough to feel secure when I get in and off. Easy of reading; great, an improvement over my old scale. The only downside I can found is that the glass-like surface shows dust and water spots easily. Maybe it is real glass, I’m not sure, but because the edges are exposed I try to be very careful to not hit it against anything hard when I move or clean it. I have started putting it in a bathroom cabinet , horizontally, when not in use. I think it can be stored vertically, which would save some space, but I suspect that might mess with the balance of the weight measuring components over time, idk. It was low/mid priced vs the competition, but I am too thrifty to consider it a disposable item that I’m willing to replace regularly, so I am trying to take good care of it if the care required is not too time/effort intensive. The battery is easily replaceable. And I am still thinking about how to get the 20 yr old scale operational again, in case this new one does crap out sooner than I’d like. There is one small board in it, connected to a few sensors under the outer deck. I scoured the internet looking for info on how to repair it, but the model is long discontinued and the entire product line has been sold to another mfg who doesn’t list it in their support area. I have engineers at my work that may be willing and able to diagnose and fix something, so that’s my next step when I get around to it. The obvious trend towards cheaper (in $ and in quality) components and finished products serves no one well IMHO and I do like to support good manufacturing when I find it. I hope the Wyze Scale X stands up to the test of time. (BTW, I am a buyer for a small US mechanical device manufacturer, and I understand that the cost of components and the finished goods are very important, but I am proud to say my company values reflect quality over cost and I’m glad they are so far successful despite the “race to the bottom” direction most competitors seem to choose. Go USA manufacturing!)

Great scale, figured out the battery issue!!
Really good scale, perfect weight calculations. Tip: I notice a lot of ppl with negative reviews because of battery life and I figure out the problem. One is the batteries these come with suck. Second is that the scale turns on each time you open your app to take a look at your stats. Simple fix, go to your scale then scale settings and toggle ON power saver Mode. That means that the scale won’t auto connect each time you open your app. It will only connect when you get on the scale.

Accurate and has lots of features
I have been using this scale for several months now and have yet to replace the battery so it appears to have a long battery life which is nice with all the features it provides. It shows up at the top of my Wzye app that I have my cameras on. It's about the size of my WW scale maybe a little smaller. I have size 7.5 feet and it's perfect size for my feet. The weight appears to be accurate as I compared it to my other scale before swapping them out. The display, even though on a white surface, is very easy to read. I have an iPhone and it's compatible with the Wyze Apple store app. Love seeing all the features. Love that you can delete readings that you don't want in case, for example, someone else wants to weigh themselves on your scale. Like having the features for weighing luggage, etc. Looks very modern and sleek and overall very happy with the scale and features.

Great Daily Weight Tracker with Solid Trends – Body Comp Numbers Are Approximate
I’ve been using my Wyze Scale almost every morning for several months now while on a serious recomp journey (losing fat while building muscle). Overall, I’m happy with it and would buy it again. What I love: • The weight readings are very consistent and accurate compared to other scales. • It’s super convenient — quick Bluetooth sync to the app, nice clean interface, and I love seeing my historical trends in one place. • The app is easy to use and motivational. I’ve dropped from ~195 lbs down to the low 180s while gaining muscle, and the scale has helped me stay accountable. • Features like visceral fat rating, BMR, and metabolic age give me extra data points that keep me engaged. The main downside: The body composition metrics (body fat %, muscle mass, visceral fat, etc.) are only okay for home use. When I compare them to professional InBody scans at Supplement Superstores, there’s noticeable variance — sometimes 1–3% difference in body fat and a few pounds on muscle mass. They’re useful for tracking directional trends over time, but I wouldn’t trust any single reading as 100% accurate. Bottom line: If you mainly want reliable daily weight tracking + helpful trend data at a great price, this scale is excellent. If you need lab-level accuracy on body fat and segmental muscle, you’ll still want occasional professional scans. For most people doing this at home, the Wyze Scale delivers strong value. Recommended for anyone serious about consistent tracking without spending hundreds on a pro device.

Very accurate but the software is dumb -- YOU NEED WIFI AND NET ACCESS TO USE THE SCALE?
So I install the batteries, it greets me, nice. Where is the app? No code, no link no nuthin. It took me a while to find out that the app is an all purpose program for everything they make. It loads up, asks for my height etc, and then it links to the scale and its connected. Great. That was easy. But when I stepped on the scale I had my weight, which was consistent. But not the water etc. I thought, hmm.. Is it dead? I reset it, I cleaned it off despite it being new. I refreshed the phone, tried to connect directly nothing. I would step on the scale and it would read the weight again and it gave the lines like it tried to scan but nothing. Why is this not working? My knees are touching, I guess, its hard to stand on the scale because its not wide enough to stand on comfortably. But do you know what the problem was? The initial screen on the app was never completed and you MUST fill in if you are a boy or a girl, your height and age or that function of the scale doesn't work either for some reason. And it won't record your weight at all if those things aren't entered. Even if you wanted to just use the app to see the numbers, you can't unless you fill in that stuff. And its not obvious where you click, you have to click on Favorites then Your scale, then you can enter the info, where as I clicked devices then the device, and then settings. Which later disappeared after setting it up right. If there was just a warning screen telling me it wasn't set up I wouldn't have wasted 40 min trying to make it work. Its also a bit tip prone when stepping on it. Edited - 4-25-25 was a 4 star they lost a star 1. They didn't tell you that you need an internet connection to use it. We lost power yesterday, I checked my weight and its like - sorry you don't have a net connection so I can't record it. And the info vanished just like that. I did it 3 times in a row. 2. They have no way to contact them easily. They have a new help thing but its a very useless AI insisting I don't need the net. Here's the thing, if this company went out of business or they changed their address, or I don't have a net connection, does that mean I can't use the scale? 3. Because there is no way to contact them, I want to be able to add notes to this thing saying what I ate, but they don't have that. And the fat part is confusing because it all seems to be a calculation rather than a measurement. Today i'm 1 pound heavier, so the fat goes up also? 7-7-26 I dropped this a star for a few reasons: 1. The body composition seems to be weight based only even if its water based, though it does know when your visceral fat went up as you ate some chips. 2. As before you can't use it if the power is out because for whatever reasons, you need to have wifi access to use a bathroom scale. So if your out of range, out of power, have no access, or the company goes out of business. You can't use any function nor can you use app for some reason... There is ZERO reason you need to be online to use this scale which is so stupid. 3. Its hard to get yourself just right on the scale or the slightest amount of dirt messes up the reading and you have to start again, as it has to go through the entire sequence to find out it can't read it. 4. They give numbers without real explanations what they are for. There are no places in the software to leave notes, like had a fried chicken party that day or walked extra, so you can really keep track. They do update the software giving you other things to look at but don't really explain what they are or do. And there is no solid easy way to contact them. In the future i'll have to find a scale that doesn't need to be online in order to work. 7-17-26 I keep lowering the score - but you can't use this scale unless you have wifi. Why? They store your private personal medical data in the cloud. What do they use it for? Who knows. I have an app, that's where it should be stored. When I contacted them, they gave me a whole run around, tried to replace the scale for some reason. When its the software at fault. When I mentioned this is probably a HIPAA violation of some kind, the very next day a screen pops open and says - we store your info (This is a brand new statement as it doesn't say this anywhere). Do you agree or not? If you say no - you can't access the software rendering the scale useless. If you say yes then you can use it. There is no opt out method. I don't want my info there. Further, if this company went out of business. It would brick your scale. The scale is accurate in measuring but if you have no local power or a connection to the net - this scale won't work for you at the very least. Live in a mobile home.. Too bad. You might as well get a normal cheaper scale. But what are they doing with the info? Why weren't they up front that they are saving your personal data? What are they doing with it?

The Brutally Honest Oracle on the Bathroom Floor
Dateline: A Tiled Room, Under the Unforgiving Glare of a Single Bulb. There is no greater moment of truth, no more savage and immediate confrontation with the consequences of your own life choices, than the moment you step onto a bathroom scale. It is a stark, numerical judgment. For years, this was a simple, analog affair—a twitching needle, a spinning dial, a single, damning number. But we live in a different age now. An age of data. An age of cold, hard metrics. An age of the Wyze Smart Scale. This is not a scale. This is a data-harvesting platform disguised as a sleek, minimalist slab of glass. It sits there on the floor, unassuming, almost benign. And it is cheap. So cheap, in fact, that it feels like a trick. For the price of a few sad, airport-bar cocktails, you get a device that promises to read not just your weight, but your very composition. The ritual is simple. You step on. The numbers on the bright, digital display dance for a moment, and then settle on your weight. But that’s just the opening act. The real show is happening behind the scenes. A tiny, imperceptible electrical current is taking a high-speed tour of your mortal form, gathering intelligence. A moment later, your phone buzzes. The dossier has arrived. You open the Wyze app, and there it is. A full-blown intelligence report on the state of your own flesh. Body fat percentage, muscle mass, bone density, BMI, a whole suite of brutally honest metrics that leave no room for self-delusion. It’s like having a tiny, scarily accurate lab technician living in your bathroom, sending you daily reports. And the app… the app is fantastic. It doesn't just give you the numbers; it charts them. It turns the savage, day-to-day fluctuations of your physical being into elegant, easy-to-read graphs. You can see the slow, grinding progress of a new fitness regimen or the immediate, catastrophic impact of a holiday weekend. It is a relentless, unflinching chronicler of your journey, a brutally honest historian for your own body. You’d think a device this connected, this… aware… would be a thirsty beast, constantly demanding new batteries. But it is not. The thing runs for what feels like an eternity on a single set of AAAs, a testament to some kind of low-energy voodoo that defies explanation. It just sits there, patiently waiting for its next data point, its next chance to tell you the unvarnished truth. The Wyze Smart Scale is a phenomenal piece of gear for an almost laughable price. It’s a reliable, frighteningly insightful, and absurdly affordable tool for anyone who has decided to stop lying to themselves. It’s a brutally honest friend who lives on your bathroom floor, and for those brave enough to listen, it has some very interesting stories to tell.

Great scale for the price.
Very nice and clean scale. I like how it connects to the app to track weight loss over time. It has a pet mode where you can step on and weigh youself first and then hold your pet to get a weight for your pet. You can add and track multiple people which is nice. It does estimate body fat percentage but not sure how accurate that is. Regardless, it feels like a great scale for the price. Very easy to use and works quick and seamlessly with the app. Its the size of a standard scale and does require you to be barefoot to calculate fat % and other metrics for some reason.

Excellent Scale
Easy to use scale. You can use it with an app, but it works great as a stand alone scale. Step on it and go! I like that it has different functions, and the luggage function will definitely come in handy.

Accurate scales
The scales are extremey accurate and consistent. Excellent pairing with mobile phone. The scale is suitable for my size 12s. Nicely designed and a good screen. Easy to read screen and easy to use with phone. Of course, like all smart scales you can take most of the measurements using algorithms with a pinch of salt but I'm hoping some them can provide some insights into body changes. A mode for luggage weighing looks useful and will probably like the pet mode!

Unauthorized seller, Wyze will not honor warranty
After the first use, the bluetooth quit (fault 1) and has not come back. I followed the troubleshooting instructions more than once. When I press the reset button, the screen should read CLR, but there is no response (fault 2). Without bluetooth, the scale does not transmit data to any health app. Furthermore, there are no readings for BMI, body fat, etc. (fault 3). So, I paid a lot of money for a scale that is not "smart" at all. And the nice people at Wyze can't do anything for me (fault 4) because the seller is not authorized (fault 5). Buyer beware, the scale is not worth the price unless it happens to work perfectly. If it does not you are out of luck.

Gran funcionalidad, gran precio
Excelente. Fácil de usar y de configurar, aunque la app está un poco pesada porque puedes controlar un montón de cosas desde ahí (cámaras y sensores). Muy bonita resistente

Sleek and Accurate
I purchased this scale because my old digital scale did this thing where if you gained or lost less than a pound (roughly) the scale wouldn't register it. For example, you're 170lbs and you take off your jeans and weigh yourself again and you're still 170lbs. I figured out, after reading a review article on scales, that this is something some manufacturers do on purpose. I'm not sure I understand the logic behind it and personally I prefer accuracy. This Wyze scale is accurate to within 0.2 pounds. If you weigh yourself before going to the bathroom and after going to the bathroom you will be a different weight (my old scale wouldn't register a change like that). So I am quite happy with this new scale. It also looks really nice. I have white porcelain tiles in my bathroom and the scale is white so it blends in nicely and kind of looks futuristic. Also, the screen lights up when you stand on it so that you can weigh when it's a bit dark and still see the number. Another feature is that you don't have to tare it each time. My old scale you'd have to tap it with your foot to turn it on, wait for it to show "0.0" then weigh yourself. With the Wyze you can just stand on it and the weight will fluctuate for a second or two and then find your weight. And it uses a regular AAA battery instead of those little CR2032 button batteries. Personally, I don't use any of the "smart scale" features. I doubt they provide any kind of meaningful data to-be-honest. But I am still rating this scale 5 stars as it does everything I want it to, looks nice and is priced nicely.
