It’s a Take Anywhere Bed
The Kamui came in a box much smaller than I expected. I thought I received the wrong product! I followed the simple directions and had no problems. It took about five breaths to fully inflate the first time after about ten minutes letting it self inflate. I have not slept on it all night, but I did lay on it in my back and side position. It is firm enough that my hip and shoulder did not bottom out. That’s important to me because I am a side sleeper. I am six feet tall and weigh 165lbs. The pad is very comfortable. It seems well made and durable. Deflating was a breeze. I knelt down on it while rolling it up. It easily fit in the bag. I reinflated it and used two breaths to firm it up. I will use this for short camping trips in my Ford F150 when I don’t want to pull my travel trailer. I will also use it on holidays when there is not enough bedrooms and I’ll put it on the floor to watch TV. It’s going to get a lot of use! I was going to spend $145 dollars on a Thermarest Mondo King, but missed the sale on Amazon. Lucky for me. The Kamui has everything I need at $37! Score! Update: I slept on the floor in my Kamui last night. I’m going to keep the five star rating. My main concern was testing the R-insulation factor. I didn’t feel any chill coming through from the floor. My house is on a concrete slab with a thin carpet. I was warm all night. I found it necessary to let out some air, it was too firm at first. I just reached up and loosened the valve. This pad is not as comfy as my pillowtop mattress, but I didn’t expect it to be. At this price, I may get another Kamui to stack on top and I’ll be able to really dial in the perfect firmness. A second one will give me 4 inches of comfort.

Thick, comfortable pad is well built and self-inflates quickly but is a little bulky when rolled up
This is a very comfortable sleeping pad. It self inflates very well - the two inch foam provides enough expansion force to pull air in quickly and effectively. Within 5 minutes the pad is about 80% filled, and one quick breath puts in the other 20%. Simple. Or you can wait half an hour and the thing will be completely filled without you even having to blow into it. The snaps are a genius feature that allow quite a bit of versatility when you have more than one pad. Seems to be well built - the shell is bonded to the foam along almost its entire surface, save for the dime-sized depressions, which are actually useful to indicate if you've over-inflated it (the holes will bulge if you have). There are two downsides: the size of the pad when packed up (it's much bulkier and heavier than a 1 inch thickness pad) and the amount of effort required to roll it up (which is certainly doable but is much more difficult than a 1 inch thickness pad). I found that the best way to do it is to roll it up, leave it uncorked and then lean on it to get as much air out as possible, then cork it, unroll it, roll it back up (this time much more tightly because there is less air), near the end uncorking it again to let the air that you've managed to push to the end to come out, then cork it. It ends up as tightly rolled as you'll get it without herculean efforts although it does take a minute or two longer, and in the end, it's still quite a bit more bulky than would be ideal (and it's going to weigh the same regardless of how tightly you manage to pack it). UPDATE: I used three of these pads for myself and kids on a two month trip and they worked PERFECTLY. None of them failed in any way and still look and function as perfectly as when we first got them. If I could give this item 6 stars I would!

Easy set up and comfortable
I have used a 1 inch thick dense foam pad for camping for many years. I am a desert camper and sleep on hard, rocky ground. I am also a side sleeper and the foam made it almost impossible to sleep on my side and I always woke up sore. The Kamui mats are so much better! I got two and snapped them together which worked really well. They unroll and self inflate in a few minutes and then I add air. They offered great protection on the hard ground and I was able to sleep on my side. The material seems very durable and the mats appear to be well made, but I would not recommend using them on bare ground as they may puncture. The deflation/ roll up process takes 3 or 4 minutes to do as you have to slowly roll up the mat to push out the air. I have read some complaints about this process taking too long, but there is foam inside the mat so you are pushing out air and compressing the foam and it takes a bit of time, and thats that. The mats come with 3 elastic straps to keep the mat rolled up as well as a storage bag. In my experience elastic does not last and so I am going to make velcro straps instead. The elastic bands are also a little clumsy to put on after the mat is rolled up. Rolled up they do take up some space in my Jeep, but the level of comfort they provide is worth it. I bought the wider size ( 25 inches) and two put together was still a bit small for two people. But 25 inches is a standard width with camping mats. Also I had no issues with them losing air over the 3 days I used them. I'm very happy with the mats and think they are a very good buy for the money. I think I will get many years of use out of them.

What a great company with a great product
What a great company with a great product. There are so many brands out there that make it seem like they have the best camping pads for a lower price, but they're not comfortable. This one is comfortable! And durable. The company is very responsive, and I was very satisfied with the communication with their representatives. Highly recommend!

1st time using it woke up to this. Popped the bottom side in the middle on 1st use. Had ground sheet and good 5000mm tent floor no share objects or anything just a bad night sleep. Update company got ahold of me and sent me a new pad, work great.

I wasn't 100% sure how well these will deliver but we bought 2 and used them for camping and also on the beach during the day when we spent a week at the Outer Hebridean islands in July. I must admit they delivered better than I expected. It was an easy to set up and pack away job, self inflates quickly, not squeaky, comfy and keeps you warm from underneath provided you have a few further layers underneath. It connects to a double or could be used as two singles. These are narrow so maybe not the best for bigger people. I don't know how warm they are when it's used in the cold season but for spring /summer in 15-20+ degrees they seem to have been great. I can't comment on waterproofing as we had dry and sunny conditions all along. Overall, great product.
