It’s a permanent fixture on my 57
I bought this for an outdoor gig but it works so well with plosive reduction I keep it on all the time.

Original Shure product that works as expected
The product works as expected. In my opinion, the gray color helps hide the small particles of dust, lint, or dirt inherent in the environment that tend to settle on this type of windscreen, and is usually more noticeable on black filters. The price could be a little lower, but since it's an original Shure product, it's understandable that it's a bit more expensive than average. The filter attaches to the microphone with a small flat screw, which ensures a secure fit and the filter won't move at all. You don't have to worry, as the inner end of the screw doesn't make contact with the microphone itself, but rather with a wide internal plastic washer, which has a vertical cutout for easy adjustment. The filter, installed properly, prevents and/or reduces plosives without affecting the sound quality of the microphone. It was also easy to install. When installing the filter on your Shure SM-57 (or similar model), remember not to insert the filter all the way to the bottom, but rather leave it a few centimeters away (allow a gap of about 0.5 to 1 inch between the top of the microphone capsule and the inner part of the filter). Note that if you press the filter from the top, there should be some room until your finger or hand touches the top of the microphone capsule. I'll upload an image to illustrate how I installed the filter on my microphone.

Makes the world's most popular and versatile studio mic into a nice individual live vocal mic
Not much to say about these Shure windscreens that have been on the market in pretty much unaltered form for at least 40 years (I can remember, clearly, my first time on stage - 2 years old - singing with my dad's group "Sweet Home Alabama" at Randy's California Inn in Laurel (sort of) MD singing into a SM57 with the A2WS back windscreen on a long gooseneck bent down so the mic would reach me... a VERY odd early memory - but I have the pics to prove it, somewhere. In any case, 40 year later, I still prefer a SM57 with a windscreen to the SM58. The slightly closer distance to the element allows for a bit more proximity effect to beefed up the low end of my somewhat thin to begin with voice. I know there are plenty of other mics that do this job and have a sweeter overall sound, but this is a mic I am used to , comfortable with mixing, and never fail to get the sound I want out of using equipment with which I am even just marginally familiar. The fact this is a screw-on/locking windscreen drastically beats the slip-over covers , like most windscreens. Worth the bit of extra money to be sure the windscreen stays where it should. If you've got some good condition 57's lying around, and need some live vocal mics and are light on 58s (or other trusted mics) - try picking up a windscreen or two for your 57's and see how you like it. I never looked back. (and that's from someone who has a mic closet with 100s of options.... this isn't my studio/recording favorite, but, while I've tried and liked many newer mics for live, I always come back to this because I fully understand its characteristics and always get what I need.)

Much needed
I've had my SM57 for about 3 years now. After almost upgrading i decided to instead try this cheap alternative for my singing to have less emphasis on P and S noises (I have a pop filter, but it's just not thick enough to be suitable to my needs) Works fantastically and very easy to secure with the small screw on the side. Now I'll be using the 57 forever.

Works fine.
It's secure and neat and it works fine. You can EQ it to a 58 or stick it in front of your twin reverb turned up to 11 and it handles it just fine. Every musician/sound engineerr should have at least one.

Genuine product, works well
Seems to be a genuine SHURE product which works very well. Rejects plosives when attached to a SM57 or similar making it a very versatile item.
