Great for on the go feeds. Rapid cool is quick and easy to use. Thermos doesn’t stay hot as long as the popular brand but hot enough for 4 hours/short trips. Also remember to take rubber seal out of the lids for cleaning and sterilising.

We bought the Nuby RapidCool Duo when we started increasing formula feeds as my previously breastfed baby was preparing to start nursery. Before using this, we were cooling freshly made bottles under the tap, which worked but was inconvenient and particularly impractical when we were out and about. The Duo comes with the RapidCool, an insulator, and two containers for storing formula powder. Everything feels really well made, sturdy and good quality. The whole thing is a good size to, it fits nicely into my changing bag and would also fit into the standard water bottle compartment on the side of a normal backpack. It’s very easy to use. The only thing that initially took me a little while to figure out was how to tell whether the water in the insulator was still hot enough. Once I discovered that you can use the digital lid from the RapidCool on the insulator, hold it upside down for 10 seconds and check whether the Nuby logo is red, this became very straightforward. The cooling time depends on the volume of the feed. I’ve used it for feeds ranging from 2oz to 6oz, with smaller bottles cooling more quickly. I haven’t actually timed it, but a 6oz bottle takes roughly 3 minutes in my experience. The RapidCool can accommodate up to 8oz. It consistently gets the formula to a suitable drinking temperature and I’ve never had an issue with a bottle being too hot or too cold after using it. You do need to make sure the formula is properly dissolved and that the liquid touches the lid so that the temperature can register correctly, so there is some swirling or shaking involved. The temperature indicator itself is very easy to understand once you’re familiar with how it works. We’re using a prescribed hypoallergenic formula and it works perfectly well with this system. I’ve been using the RapidCool daily for around a month now, usually 4+ times a day, and it has been completely reliable. No leaks, cracks, loose components or failures to cool a bottle, and it still works exactly as it did on day one. It’s also very easy to clean. To sterilise, I use the Nuby RapidSterilise, which is designed for use with the RapidCool. I’ve had no issues with smells or staining. Where this really comes into its own for me is saving time and making formula feeding practical when we’re out of the house. It probably saves me at least 5 minutes per bottle compared with cooling one under the tap. That might not sound like much, but when you have a hungry baby, those extra five minutes can be the difference between a baby who is patiently waiting and a baby who is absolutely hysterical! 😂 I’ve also used it while out at places such as weddings and the zoo and it’s been brilliant. I don’t need to find somewhere that will give me cool water or rely on whatever facilities happen to be available. I can make the bottle and cool it using the RapidCool wherever I am. I think it’s good value for money and would absolutely buy it again. I’d recommend it to anyone using formula, whether that’s exclusively, as part of combination feeding, or even just occasionally. For me, the biggest advantage is the combination of speed and practicality, particularly when we’re away from home.

Absolutely game changer! Going from planning to breastfeeding to having to switch to formula after 2 weeks I was so unprepared and it definitely made things more difficult but this helped immensely! It makes night feeds much simpler, and gives me more precious sleep time, and going out a lot more relaxed too. I can have his bottle in his mouth in a couple of minutes and blissful silence resumes 😆 It is absolutely worth getting for any formula feeding parent

Absolutely essential if bottle feeding! Breast feeding did not work out like I hoped so all the equipment I had bought in preparation was wasted. As I didn’t plan to formula feed, I did not have this kit. Let me tell you, waiting 30 minutes for boiling water to “cool”, and then still have to run the bottle under the tap for several minutes whilst you’re in the newborn trenches and your hungry newborn wails multiple times in the night, is the worst. Post-partum life massively improved when these entered the picture. Also recommend little containers to hold pre-measured formula so again you’re not spending time in the day and especially the night weighing out formula every time you make a bottle. Easy to take with you when visiting people or taking short trips out the house. For what they do, the kit is amazing value for money. The UV steriliser and coolers are great quality too. Love the coolers are easily sterilised with the UV contraption. Easy to use and quickly becomes second nature. I find getting the rubber seal off to clean is difficult but is easier if you have nails but even if you don’t, it becomes easier with time (husband can attest, I don’t have to do it for him anymore). Only downside, I don’t like the flask for hot water. Doesn’t retain heat for long. To make it last a bit longer I pour boiling water in to warm it first, tip this out and then pour more. Scolded myself a couple times taking this up to bed and making a bottle in the night. No precision point for flask to pour water safely out. I always go downstairs to make bottles to circumvent using the flask at home.

If you are formula feeding...GET THIS PRODUCT! Best purchase ive ever made. Didnt have with my first baby and have only just bought for my 2nd. Worth every penny. I got the cooler and flask with two formula pots and i am not disappointed. Flasks feel sturdy and high quality and the formula is cooled in less than 2 minutes, very impressive and no idea how the techology works! Magic! I have yet to test its durability and see if it leaks or breaks, but so far so good and very pleased! My sister in law has been using hers for nearly a year and is very pleased!

This is the second purchase after returning the first as it was faulty, however the problems persist. Firstly, the LED lights do not work on any of the lids - they always show green despite very hot temperature. I could live with that as when the bottles do work then the cooling is quick, however it is are entirely random whether they work or not. Sometimes the bottles do not cool at all, and it is clear when this happens as they are too hot to touch or hold after pouring the water in, and remain so for some time. We can’t make any sense as to why sometimes they work and somethings they don’t - we have tried swapping lids around etc. When this happens we have to resort to decanting and placing in cold water which totally defeats the point. Lastly, the measurement design inside the bottles is poor; it’s very hard to see the markings unless shining a bright light directly under it.

These were a game changer for us. We changed from breastfeeding to formula and were really struggling with how not "instant" formula is compared to a boob. We didn't want to buy a perfect prep machine due to the issues of mould and lack of evidence that it safely kills bacteria commonly found in formula powder. These were a great alternative for us as you can make the formula, when you need it with boiling water. These reduced the wait time significantly. I've read other reviews that say it shows green almost instantly and therefore must be broken, however they really do cool very fast. By the time you've poured the water and added the scoops it's already cooling. It says to wait 2 minutes but in our experience it doesn't take that long for smaller amounts. 4 stars for 2 reasons - 1. because the flask doesn't keep the water above 70 degrees for more than 4 hours. I'm not sure it claims to be but we often need it to stay hotter for longer, especially in the night. 2. The measurements are only in the white cooling flasks and are practically impossible to read. Especially if you're making it up in dim light in the middle of the night. Therefore we pour the boiling water into an empty bottle to get the measurement and then into the white flask. Annoying but not a big work around.
