Purchased a portable air conditioner for my bedroom; found that the exhaust hose was hot to the touch and emitting heat which defeated the purpose of cooling the room so I purchased this 6" diameter duct sleeve. After running the hose through it, I secured the ends with 24" zip ties. My room definitely gets cooler quicker after installing this sleeve, noticeably so; a bit bulky but very happy with the results.

I've installed this product on my portable air conditioner exhaust hose and it is doing a good job of insulating it and stopping the heat from radiating from the hose, but the strange chemical smell is totally unacceptable and can be smelled all over the room. There's no way I can spend the rest of the summer breathing in whatever that is. Out it goes.

This product may work great for its purpose. As someone who does not work construction, I tried to read if this was a safe product for household use for my AC unit. Didn't see any warnings. However once I received this item, it is hazardous and you need to have special clothing, googles, gloves to handle and work with it.

A good product I use it to insulate the exhaust air duct on our portable AC unit. Make it much more efficient as it helps get the heat outside.

Practically useless for duct work already installed unless you have lots of space above the ducts (not likely). By the time you get it wrapped much of it is ripped. Great for new work though.
