Brand new and definitely a real dewalt!! This thing is perfect for cutting and being able to handle your cuts with precision and also its good on the hands if you have and injuries also. Battery lasts awhile too. Highly recommend!!! And the price is the best around. Good job guys

This little cutter is awesome 0 kickback. It shuts down before it will twist and snap the cutting disc. You just gotta let the tool do the work. One hand cuts are common and easy. Compared to a 4 inch grinder with no blade guard. It's balance is spot on even with a 6 ah battery. I doubt I'll ever use a 4 inch or 6 inch cut off wheel again. It blasted through a 1/4 steel plate with very little effort. Almost no vibration at the start and throughout the cut. Feels very safe. The DeWalt all metals disk it came with didn't do that great on 1/4 aluminum. It started plugging up the disk. Which is common w cutting aluminum. This thing would be perfect for using in the field. Cutting tops of posts.. whatever. Totally worth it. After using it once. I would pay double what I paid. It's that good.👍

Recommend. Robust tool. Compact build. Powerful. Good design and features. Happy with. The limited cutting depth initially surprised me, But has yet to be an issue. Slowly converting all my cordless over to this line.

I did a DIY kitchen backsplash tile installation recently. I borrowed a friend's wet saw and purchased this cut-off tool. I've found myself reaching for this more often than the wet-saw. This tool comes with a blade guard, but I find it difficult to see the blade path with the guard installed. Drawback is that cutting tile dry without a guard is extremely dusty. Face mask, glasses, hearing protection, etc. -- wear it all. I find it can make quicker cuts then a wet saw can and the results are just as clean. Spraying the tile with a water bottle before cutting helps somewhat with the dust as well; doing so doesn't seem to be "recommended", but seems to work just fine. The visibility issue with the guard installed is why I deducted a star from my review. The tool comes with various blades; I've used it for cutting metal Schluter tile trims and the tile itself. This is going to be a very useful tool for a variety of home improvement projects.

Good tool. light, balanced with plenty of power. Blade change is easy. Allen wrench for blade change stores securely on the saw. Great for times when you don't need the depth of a circular saw. I used the wood blade to successfully cut vinyl siding. As with most Dewalt tools battery life is great.

The tools cut accurately, and the speed is fantastic. The battery lasted through cutting 10 stones before needing a second, but they charge so fast—just keep a couple handy.

I am a diver and needed to cut many tiles both internal and external, and also for small wood pieces. I was deciding between the compact DeWalt saw and this cut off tool, in the end chose this, based on: 1. Size - this thing is super compact and light, as a result, it is very easy to control with 1 hand. 2. Saw blade - the DeWalt compact saw is also amazing, but for wood cutting mainly and the blades are limited. 3. The power - don't be fooled by the size, this little thing throws a punch and cut through tough porcelain 3cm external tiles like butter. Paired with 5Ah battery, it gets the job done. However due to the size and design, one could argue an angled grinder might be more versatile as one cutting tool to rule them all. I don't disagree. But with my usage which focused on cutting straight line with ease, this I think will be better than an angled grinder. So, happy days. Cannot wait for my next project.
