LEGO Star Wars Darth Vader Transformation 75183 Building Kit, for 84 months to 144 months

I have been a big fan of Lego releasing vignette style builds in the $20-30 range recently and wish that they continue the trend in pricier sets in the future. The last time this set was released was for the release of Revenge of the Sith in 2005, and this new set features a much improved play experience and overall value for the money. This is one of the rare Lego sets that I would buy full price. It is great for all ages from children to adult collectors. Highly recommend!

Pros: This set is amazing. It’s a little challenging to build but that’s part of the fun. The completed set has great play value, my son loves transforming Anakin into Vader and it’s quickly become his favorite set. Con: While moving the set from one table to another it frequently breaks apart in the middle, it always a quick and easy fix but can be annoying.

BUY: If you love Revenge of the Sith & LEGO. DO NOT BUY: If you are not a fan of the prequels. This is a must have set for any Revenge of the Sith fans, it's a major improvement over the original darth vader transformation and has great minifigures including medical droids that are unique to this set. You also get extra gold lightsaber hilts with Palpatine and battle-scarred Anakin is an awesome figure to collect. The construction of this set feels solid and it is actually very easy to use the function of this set, putting on Darth Vader's helmet works well and is efficient for display. PROS: - Great design/build construction - Amazing value for price - Lots of minifigure variety - Exclusive minifigures - Practical function that actually works - Iconic scene and accurate depiction of transformation CONS - Not a very mobile set

I have been seeing this one for a while and was never interested until I saw it on the Cyber Monday sale at a price I couldn't refuse. Basically it's just a little scene that's nicely done for what it is, but is pretty limited in scope and play value. I think the trouble is that while the transformation and helmet features work well, after you've transformed your nicely printed and detailed, burned and chopped up Darth Vader into suited Vader and applied his helmet, there's not much left to do but get angry about Padme and send the droids flying. The droids look nice and they're built pretty well, so they can take it. But what then? There's not much left to do with this location after running through all of the features. It would make a nice medical chamber beyond the transformation, but the set itself has a pretty big footprint and an awkward shape so it will be a bit challenging to incorporate it into further adventures. It's nice that it comes with the droids and an exclusive set of Vader figures, but there's not a whole lot more to dig into. I think this works best by itself as a small display or as part of a pretty large scene where a large medical bay will fit (maybe with some added detailing) I definitely wouldn't pay retail price for it, but if you can pick it up at a significant discount it's pretty cool.

I had recently purchased this LEGO set along with LEGO Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back Yoda’s Hut over the weekend because I was feeling nostalgic about Star Wars in general. Both scenes were iconic in their own right, and it's great to have them memorialized in LEGO form. This set is priced correctly at $15. Even though the set has 250+ pieces, most of the pieces are identical and the build itself is fairly repetitive and simplistic. With that said, compared to a lot of sets at this price point, you get a lot of bang for your buck. The design of the set is solid, which is in essence a solid ring formation that represents an android surgical suite. And the play feature of putting on Darth Vader's helmet as he completes his journey to the Dark Side is an absolute treat. The set comes with three minifigures (two versions of Darth Vader) and a retinue of loyal droids. Treat yourself to this set at its awesome discounted price!

My grandsons in California are quarantined with their mom. They earn legos by doing homework with me during distance learning. They were so excited to earn this set and then patiently wait for it (only a week). I know this is non-essential but for the boys it's fun and they learn some math along the way.

I managed to get the older Darth Vader Transformation (https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0007LXW2U/) back when it first came out with Revenge of the Sith's theatrical release. While that one was fun, it was... lacking... even at the time. But it was the first time I got a Darth Vader minifigure, so I was happy. Then my cousin stole the minifigs... Never did get them back, but I think at that point I had grown tired of the set itself and tossed the pieces into the main collection. So I saved up and got another set with Vader in that one, though I do not recall which one. When I saw this one, however, I knew I had to get it. For everything. The new Darth Vader helmet, the play of it, the Emperor, the new lava-burned Anakin (the old one was basically Anakin without a hairpiece. This one has silver legs, most likely to mirror his reconstruction) and even the cool new tool molds, in pearl silver to boot. Couple with the fact that you can faithfully recreate the final scene of RotS, this definitely is better to the original in every way.

This is an iconic LEGO set and I managed to snag it for a great price! Very satisfied with the quality as well!

Look, this set was long discontinued and it was a special request for my 10 year old's birthday. This set, for the number of pieces, would usually sell for aprox $40. Instead, I bought it for $150 and the box was in 8/10 condition. Is it my fault for overpaying ? Yes. Was it my choice ? Yes. Is it still a rip off and someone taking advantage ? Yes.
